What Lego set did you buy today?

Recommended Posts

I didn't even ask. I just handed him the coupon and he applied It. I'm not sure he really knew what he was doing though. He seemed really overwhelmed. Maybe I got lucky I guess.

I didn't ask either today. Found 2 Helms Deep at B&****** and brought them up to register with my membership card, BOGO deal and the 20% off coupon on my phone. Rang everything up with no problem. Total ended up being $83 each after tax.

i don't normally buy used lots off of craigslist, mostly because my local area usually only offers duplo, mega-blocks described as lego, and sets with many missing pieces, but today i stumbled upon a gem and quickly scooped it up. i came across a 12 set lot of chima, ninjago, and marvel super heros from an afol who only built them to display. total retail value on the lot is $352. i purchased it for $175. after going through it, amazingly all of the pieces and minifigs are there. sadly, no boxes, but all of the instruction manuels were included. i personally am not big on chima as an investment, so these sets are all going into my son's collection. he is pretty stoked right now, having just watched the chima cartoon last night. included in the lot are... 70502 cole's earth driller 70500 kai's fire mech 70501 warrior bike 70504 garmatron 70000 razcal's glider 70001 crawley's clawripper 70002 lennox lion attack 70004 wakz pack tracker 70013 equila's ultra striker 70006 cragger's command ship 70005 laval's royal fighter 76004 spiderman cycle chase

I bought the 4842 Hogwarts Castle from a person in my state online, it just arrived today and I'm really happy (even though it was a pain to deal with the courier company), I can't wait to arrive and check everything is as described.

Finally located 30213 Gandalf at Dol Guldur in my town! Bought 10 of them. Been waiting so long now, and I was surprised to find them on an end cap at TRU. Oddly enough, the debit machine was down (how does that happen, right?) and only had enough cash for 2, so I took a trip to the bank and came back for 8 more. Add them to my Elronds and Frodo.

Went to the MOA, with my SO to help carry my loot, and visited the LEGO store. I wanted to take advantage of my 10% off catalog coupon, the double VIP, and no shipping costs. Boy, was I surprised to see them virtually cleaned out of all the good stuff (namely the stuff I wanted). I left with Horizon Express train, two Grand Emporiums, and an online order for a Pet Shop with discount and free shipping because they were SOLD out. Not huge discounts, but I don't really expect huge discounts on any if these and I plain don't want to miss out for my personal collection. So the nice thing is that I have over $100 of VIP comps to use when free shipping comes back around. :-) I still dislike the huge crowds and sea of kids but it was worth it. Also went to the casino and won some money. ;-)

Just picked up for myself the Ninjago "Warrior Bike" at WalMart for $17.

That's it.

Oh right, and about $100 worth of Minifigures. I completely cleaned out my Five Below of every Galaxy Patrol and Evil Knight they had, plus had a chance to go through two factory sealed boxes of Series 9 and finally confirmed for myself what I've always wondered.

The box ratio is not random. It never was, it isn't now, and nor will it ever be. I shifted through two brand new boxes and both of them had the exact same amount for each minifigure. There was no deviation at all. Not even slightly.

After that pricy smooshathon, I came out with even more of the 'single sixes' and some more army builders.

Now I just need a dropship for all those space marines....

2 x Unimogs 3 x Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape 1 x Battle for Geonosis Slowly inching up to my target for Unimogs. The Funhouses are to flip, and Geonosis is for my personal collection. I really need to start looking at putting some Funhouse sets aside actually. Who knows when they will go or what their production run is like.
