HP moments I expected for months already, made no sense to retire after 1 year. Unclear as to why the others are extended. Hopefully only to mid 2021. I wonder the implications for the other HP moments, can we deduce that they are to indeed be retired, or does the portend a possible across the line extension.

all in all bad news. I loaded up on baking shop during the kohls sale. :(

ill add some more sets i am skeptical about - the helmet line. only 1.5 years and super popular. why retire. but push offs dont seem to be linked to popularity - why the panda nursery over end battle which is 10x more popular. very likely element availability plays a large role as well. or its all random

I'm very skeptical about the helmets as well. Seems like they were out of iron mans helmet very early in the season. I'm guessing a few boatloads will be docking this january.

End battle still has the old box art, which might play a role too. Not sure if Lego cares about that kind of stuff.

pretty sure someone's 1 job is to go around the various LEGO manufacturing site to damage or lose random piece molds...during LEGO's history someone high up discovered that purposely introducing a bit of chaos is good for the brand...it forces innovation and flexibility.

THIS is the ONLY explanation for the retirement schedule every year

what's weird about the stonewars update is that panda nursery is sold out at shop at home world wide - not TOOS - SOLD OUT - and listed as retired product in australia.

same pattern with baking championship - retired product in oz - sold out worldwide.   didn't check the rest.

stonewars has been accurate the past 2 years - it will be interesting to see if they end up being right.  they only say available in 2022 maybe there is an unusual q1 retirement.

i was about to start cleaning out local stock of panda nursery.

Well that's annoying.

I'm also sceptical that the Pirates of Barracuda Bay will retire. Reason being: John Lewis have the set OOS, but for retiring sets they will typically put a message saying that they don't expect more (e.g., London Bus https://www.johnlewis.com/lego-creator-10258-london-bus/p3389552). That message is not there for Barracuda (https://www.johnlewis.com/lego-ideas-21322-pirates-of-barracuda-bay/p5080238). That implies they are expecting a restock, and pre-Christmas seems unlikely at this point. The Chiron is in the same boat.

stone wars called treehouse going last year, just ask the 10 i have sitting on the shelf. there are some things that are beyond their vision and nobody knows but Lego.

I'm waiting for Barracuda Bay to get postponed as well. i don't believe it will go. or if it does, it will go the way of Saturn V and Ship in a Bottle and just come out again.

Since becoming "sold out" at SAH I've seen several restocks at retailers and it's available still for MRSP.  Costco Canada has been selling these by the hundreds all week. I see this as a marketing ploy to make the resellers believe it's going so they can clean out the stores that still have them. After Christmas it will go back in stock at SAH, and the lesson we didn't learn from Treehouse will be repeated. At worst we sit on these for an extra year and have more time to procrastinate whether or not to buy more!

Have you checked the seal code on any of them? I just picked one up in store and the code is 27. So they are still selling through a big run mid-summer.

I have a shipment coming next week and will check the code when I receive it. If Lego is sitting on all this product kind of makes you wonder why they

list it as "sold out", hence my theory.

I just ordered a set from Amazon a week ago, it has a code of 34R1.  I'm hoping it retires so it can make room for more Pirate sets!

Considering end battle was released on 2019, it is not surprised it is going to EOL, just like all other 2019 Minecraft sets.

Just now, Achilles said:

Stopped into local LEGO store again today, the retiring exclusives (Barracuda, Corner Garage, Upside Down, Roller Coaster, etc) are all being restocked pretty deeply. Gingerbread House, Aston Martin, and Harley I did NOT see as being restocked.

I would arm sweep Barracuda and Corner garage without hesitation.  We KNOW these are a matter of months and will double in price.

I would add Roller Coaster if not for it being expensive and gigantic

Upside down is a ?  very specific audience.
