Limited edition non-numbered sets

Today I saw some Limited Edition WWT sets for sale, these are official Lego but lack set numbers as they seem to only be on sale wherever the WWT in the UK is currently hosting a Lego animal trail. I didn't purchase any as the cost/brick seemed a bit on the high side, but looking at eBay now there's been a few that seem to have sold for roughly double what they'd cost to pick up (as a complete set of six). So, am I an idiot for not getting some or is awareness so low that nobody would have heard of them so demand would be weak? Incidentally I only recall seeing 4 of the 6 sets available, for sure the Otter wasn't there. Worth getting the other ones individually or only really valuable as a whole set? Opinions welcome!
