I haven't tried Febreze yet, but I will give that a shot. Thanks. I was able to get rid of smoke smell from a Technic snowmobile with a pre-soak and one color-safe bleach wash, but this Bionicle lot has proven to be much more difficult.

Does anyone have any recommendations for removing persistent odor from LEGO? I've got a large, bulk lot of early Bionicle that has old house smell and after a soapy water pre-soak and 2 additional turns in the washing machine, they still stink. Will vinegar take the smell out completely? Will it leave a permanent vinegar smell? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Does the vinegar smell come off the parts? I purchased a large lot of early Bionicle that had that "old people house" smell. I gave them a pre-soak in warm, soapy water and 2 turns in the washing machine in garment bags and outside, air dry and they still stink, so I'm looking for alternatives. I've cleaned a couple of other old toys with vinegar and they had a faint vinegar smell that stayed afterward.

Hello all, first time posting but long time lurker. I started out as an avid collector but as the collection grew and the house didn't, something had to give and started reselling the excess. It's been more than 5 years now and it seems LEGO is making more sets than ever before, so I'm hopeful I'll be able to up my game to keep up with my hobby/addiction.
