Set up the train. Had to reinforce the crane it simply wasn't heavy enough for me and the boy. We love it though... it sets up a nice border for the center of our Lego city! A necessary purchase for a city builder.

What Lego set did you buy today?
GonzoBrick replied to Damnation666's topic in General Buying & Selling
Bought, well, received yesterday, 60052 cargo train. It's great. I'm gonna try to weigh down the gantry Crane with some bricks though it comes off its rails too easily and then it takes special attention to put each side back on the rails again... only complaint but during play so far it hasn't stood up well with my young son. He's under 3 years old so part of it is inevitable though. (I supervise him directly with Lego, but we are buying duplo) Thanks for reading! -
Yeah as soon as I saw it all I knew I wanted a second train... I heard straight track is the most expensive and that lego only sells it in large train sets. That true? Also, the 60052 car go train has been a hit from the whole family which is my 16 month old boy and wife. I've been collecting lots of city sets basically anything in production currently. Lots of 20 dollar sets. Our collection has over 20 sets and a big lot of classic stuff now. The train is the biggest purchase so far. I plan to stick with trains that are in production and add them as lego releases new ones. There are 2 in production currently maybe 3 right? Thanks for reading!

I hope 142.99 with 2 day shipping free wasn't paying too much. I have been following the prices on this thing for weeks all over the web. I could pay less on ebay sure but the shipping is always at least 20 bucks which puts it over 142.99 almost every time... I am gonna love this set and my 2 year old will even more... (with supervision) I'll post another comment once I get mine up and running. Maybe I'll have something new to add to the discussion... heh.

I love knowing all the box sizes! Especially knowing I have a 60052 Cargo Train chugging down the line from amazon. Paid 142.99 free 2 day shipping. I love knowing the box from the top of that list is coming finally... woot! Tell me if you think I overpaid but I've been looking for days/weeks for better...

!So far I've just been enjoying adding parts to my collection from the lot. Built myself a much better MOC hospital with all the white and red... I'm a noob builder and not a very creative person with lego in general... here's my hospital, unfurnished so far: -

I feel the need to briefly say that I have carefully read every single reply to this article and your personal opinions and facts (of which there were very few real facts initially, except Thumper) are a great help. However the first pictures were so poor I had to see the lot personally. I definitely maximized the potential value by cleaning and sorting them, now I am just soliciting some personal opinions on the value after cleaning and sorting. One thing I noticed once I dropped them on a scale, I thought they weighed about double what they actually weigh! I got about 6 good pounds that I'll probably sell. I'm going to feel free to keep whatever ones I like since they aren't worth a whole lot... -

What about the dark grey that they don't make anymore? 10$ per pound for these seems right to you guys? They are well used, with a really great mix of parts and cool parts that are out of print. Only a few parts with non-useful molds. Assuming the parts are some great molds, not super rare but great out of print molds... still 10$ pound? Anything less than 10$ per., And I will just add them to my collection.. -

I just used a spaghetti strainer and a bucket in the tub with a touch of Old Spice body wash... (the lego does not have a fragrance left after washing) -
Great article... I just got a bulk lot for almost free... just bartered a Johnny Cash box set that just sat in a drawer! Here is my lot... I wanna know what to sell it for... more than 5$ per pound these are pretty sorted early 2000's with out of print molds and a bag of the old put of print dark grey...

Final swag picture... comments on value here would be very greatly appreciated, how much is each bag worth approximately by color... after I post this I'm gonna wash them with water then peroxide... These gallon bags are 3/4 more/less full. At least 2 pounds each. Value estimates? Note: each bag has at least a few parts that are out of print as far as I know. -

Final loot... lots of plates, classic bricks, a classic Artoo unit from the very first Droid escape set with the 2 printed quarter circle escape pod pieces. No C-3PO. They are indeed from the early 2000'stages period. Some great light blue ice colored plates arches and 12 angled pieces. Black 2x4'a which seem uncommon based on me not having any out of my 18 sets... a stack of 4x4 brown cylinders... and a whole lot more... It took 7 hours to separate the mega bloks out and hourly it wasn't worth it. Still great stuff. Translucent orange grille and 1x1 studa that I don't see anymore... -

Here's the Lego parts so far... it seems good so far just for random parts... the value just in the bin lid alone has to be 20 dollars... that is the value of trade that I gave. This was his entire personal collection... he said there's nothing too special and that he loved GI Joe more than Lego... The bin is still unsorted... I also have a bag of mega bloks and mega blok baseplates, over 15. Wondering if those are trash or maybe worth listing for cheap... In summary, I think I got a good deal even though quite a few have bite marks... I can add those to my personal collection. -

Wow.. lots of replys in one night... well... I am bartering for a Johnny Cash 3 cd set... and if I don't like what I see I can have him throw 10 dollars or 15 on top of it... I am gonna go check it out because I just have to see it... he is on my side of town sorta... be back later with pics one way or another I'll take some there... -
Hello fellow Brickpickers! Is that what we say? I wouldn't know, I'm new. I did read about 10 pages of the newb "no question too dumb" thread so I have some answers, but I ran into a potential lego haul and I have no idea what it's worth! Let's see if your all as awesome as you appear... The seller said, "It's all lego bricks underneath and lego people" Well I do see a Pokémon card in there, but I will take his word... I will be buying in person so I can verify it later but that's not as fun as getting some expert opinions on this random bin! Also feels like a good way to start my brickpicker profile and meet some of you fellow AFOL investors. I'd like to know firstly I'd those baseplates are junk or treasure from a special rare set! Shh it could happen! Of course, monkeys could fly outta my... Any personal opinions from experts on anything you see is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. I plan to contribute to the community on this site and I already enjoy it very much. Thanks to the mods and the site creators. Big thanks.
