  1. It wasn't today, this was actually back on Sunday. I ran the Houston Marathon in 3:16:28, and qualified for my first Boston Marathon at age 46. I'm still flying high, enjoying the break from running this week, and eating anything I can get my hands on.
  2. Yea, actually you're right. It's a really poor savings decision. It helps me keep some funds separate from other life, but earns nothing.
  3. Every Tuesday, ebay pays me my funds from the prior week of sales, into my bank account. And every Tuesday when I try to transfer that $ from my bank into PayPal, I get an error message that something went wrong on the Paypal end. Coincidence? This happen to anyone else? I've tried about 5 times today, no luck. And this happens almost every week. I usually have to wait a day or two to move the $.
  4. I got together with my Dad yesterday for his birthday, and he gave me this from when I was a kid. He specified, "it's not for you to sell, it's to put together with your girls." Box, instructions, and all parts. I spent HOURS playing with this set back in '84/'85.
  5. This was the solution to the "won't ship to your state" issue. I had to set up an Onsite payment system. Their Help Desk told me the same thing. Thank you!
  6. I don't think so. I've verified that the same message appears for users in California and Minnesota. Are those states on this list? Also, I put in a Help Desk request.
  7. I received an email from a person via my BL store. Person wanted a shipping quote on one set. I gave the quote. Then they came back and said apparently my store states I won't ship to North Carolina, they copied and pasted a note that the person was getting message "Seller does not support orders shipping to North Carolina." I checked my settings, and didn't see anything that would reflect that, and I'd just made other sales within the US. So we agreed to pay outside the website store (via Paypal invoice) and then I'd ship the order. And again the person stated that my store states that I don't ship to any US state. {Note: I haven't received any orders over the weekend to be able to validate if this is true or not.} The person paid via a Paypal invoice, and as I'm packing up the set, I started to get a funny feeling. The person's Paypal account name (email address) is something to the effect of "daddys little girl." But the person emailing me has the name Quentin. And then they wanted me to ship it to a person named Stephen. Now, people can identify however they want but Quentin and Stephen are likely not daddys little girl. They also requested twice no packing slip in the box. So now I emailed the person, requesting that before I ship the item I'd like to know their BL user name so I can check out their feedback rating. I'll see what I get back. Thoughts on all of this?
  8. Dude, I'm on a solo road trip for 8 nights (shoutout to the wife staying home with the kids). I was going to do 5 nights in Yellowstone, but people on TripAdvisor convinced me to get to Grand Teton for a few nights. After a lot of research, I ended up going with 2 nights YNP and 3 nights GTNP. You are SPOT ON. I thought Yellowstone was pretty cool last summer, but Grand Teton is so much better for a hiker. I did Delta Lake yesterday - amazing. Lake Solitude today - even better. Tomorrow is Holly Lake and I'll get over 10,000 feet - and another swim. For a flatlander from Minnesota, this is amazing.
  9. At Grand Teton National Park, I hiked 17 miles round trip through Cascade Canyon to Lake Solitude. It's at 9035 feet elevation and the water is melted glaciers. So I jumped in and swam to the island. In the picture, my wet footprints are on the rocks - nobody nearby to take a photo of me.
  10. That's what it is then! Thank you. Still a very smooth gun after 121 years!
  11. The serial number on mine starts with 235. So is that an 1899 or 1900?
  12. The Krag is a Springfield Armory Model 1898. Do you know where I would find the year? It does have a serial number. It has been in our family for at least 4 generations, and it became mine because I'm the oldest grandson of this generation. Luckily my Dad gave it to me with 8 boxes of shells, because that stuff is expensive! Yesterday was the first time I shot it - we fired 12 rounds i think. The bolt is so smooth. It's interesting how you just drop the rounds in the magazine, they're rolling around in there loose, and it all comes together when shooting.
  13. This morning I prepped most of the arsenal. My Brother-in-law is in town, so getting ready to take him to the range. Working Fridays is so 2019 (I'm on 20% furlough). Converted the home office to the range prep work bench. From the top, left to right: 30-40 Krag, Sig Sauer P320 M17, Glock 22 Gen 4, Ruger Mark IV 22/45 Lite, Ruger GP100, Beretta Cheetah
  14. That's interesting. Is there a trend here? All day today, garmin.com has been down - it appears to be a ransomware attack. The app and website are down, and apparently their overseas factories have been down for two days. Also, fortune.com has been down all day - I was trying to find an article my boss referenced and can't get to the article link or even the main page.
  15. I got up early, ran, showered, put on work clothes, and drove to work. Remarkable because this is the first time since Monday, March 9 that I was here. It's a large assembly factory - and everything feels different. Hardly anyone around in the office areas. The plant floor feels different. The cafeteria is bagged lunches only - no forks, napkins, condiments, etc. Everyone wearing masks of course. It's about 900,000 square feet, and we can only enter/exit through two doors. I cleaned out my desk and taking my big computer monitor home - that's the reason I came in. I suspect this will be my last day here this year.
