  1. There are stores that'll hold them? I called 2 yesterday and they both said no holds. One of them claimed they had 2 so I went less than 2 hours after I called to check and they were sold out by the time I got there. I called again this morning and that store said they had 1. I'm not sure if they're told to say they have some in stock just to get people into the store when they don't actually have any. That sucks because I drove ~40 minutes one way yesterday when they said they had them.
  2. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of TRU.com's stock came from stores. At the store I bought mine from a few weeks back, there were two on the shelf. However, the week or so prior, there were six. And this store is in the middle of the city and I know firsthand how much of a PITA it was to lug that thing around out of the store and onto mode of public transportation. At their selling price of $500 before tax and the ridiculous size and weight of the box, I have doubts that an "investor" cleared out four of them in that short span of time. Afterall, if they were that serious about hoarding, they wouldn't have been generous enough to leave two behind.
  3. Well, two corners of mine were a little dented in and it was shipped from LEGO Shop at Home in a regular cardboard box with air cushions on one side, which explains why only that one edge was dented.
  4. Just received my LEGO Shop at Home order from 7/28. Date code is 19R4. Corners are slightly dinged, probably from shipping, but I'll take it! Also, no free polybag included.
  5. Add me to the list of lego.com backorders that shipped!
  6. The one I got from a TRU store a couple of weeks back is also 50R1.
  7. I'm new to this thread. Where are the codes located and how do you decipher them?
  8. My order from 7/28 changed to "In Process" as well.
  9. Searching for SSD on tru.com this morning worked so I got my priced adjustment. Too bad it wouldn't stack with the 20% off coupon I had but as everyone's saying, MSRP for the SSD is already a deal these days.
  10. I don't think so since the page never showed up. They tried the R Web number, UPC, and typing in the description. With the UPC, it shows up as $499.99 in their system.
  11. Going through that direct link works just like clicking on the recommended products link that shows up on my computer. But if you do a fresh search on the site, it won't show up anymore and that's how they're doing it in store.
  12. It's not showing up for me when I search anymore but is still accessible in the "Recently Viewed" part of the page. It sucks because my local store can't bring it up on their computer and I'm trying to get them to issue me a price adjustment for it from the overinflated in-store price down to MSRP.
  13. I'm hoping that the SSD will show up again on the TRU site, even if just to say it's OOS. I bought one from a TRU that consistently charges more than the site ($100 more for the SSD) and was hoping I could bring it back to my TRU that generally sells things for the same price as the site and have them adjust the price. The noob worker I'd never seen before wanted to do a price match instead of a return/rebuy but it wasn't on the site anymore so he couldn't do it. Then he supposedly tried to scan the item but it still came up as $500, although I think he just scanned my original receipt where it was $500 from the other store.
  14. For those who've placed orders at LEGO Shop at Home for a backorder, what is the likelihood of your order being cancelled due to unavailability?
  15. Different strokes for different folks. For people who don't care how an automatic car wash mars paint vs a proper hand wash/detail, the $15 car wash is great. To the rest (admittedly much smaller population), an automatic car wash is a nightmare and the extra time, money, and effort of a proper detail is worth it. But in the end, people will find worth in what they find worth in. I'm sure a majority of the world won't understand why people spend big bucks on plastic toys like Lego but we do it anyway.
