  1. My wallet and storage space is glad I didn't happen to look at this thread until this afternoon. I was able to squeak in 2 Space Ports at least.
  2. What's the code for the $10 back? I couldn't find it in the SYW coupon list. All I found was a 5% off a toy.
  3. My Yardsale phone app found a sale on my way to work a month or so ago with "Leggoes" or something like that, so the Craigslist apps missed it. Secured a Dolphin Cruiser that looked complete with instructions for $20 and another box of 5 or so mid-level Friends sets for $10, all with instructions.
  4. That vase really adds the right amount of symmetry to that police station though. Very feng shui.
  5. I rolled in over an hour late to a "moving sale" this morning in an older part of town that had 2 Atari 2600 consoles and cartridges along with toys, tools, etc. I was thinking it was going to be my parents' era moving sale with kids of my age's toys. It turned out it was a kid about my age (30-40yrs old) selling his stuff DIRT CHEAP. I thought I was doing good getting some quality power tools on the cheap, a year or so old Honda self-propelled mower for $200, and then I found this large tub marked vintage toys $1 each, so I pick out the Fisher Price Little People 1960S barn silo that is always missing and my kid's barn is missing for $1 and a whole bag of vintage little people and other things for $1. Inside that bag are instructions for various 1970s LEGO sets, it was confirmed that I was late to the party on those. Looking at the condition of things, I am guessing they were all probably kept in their boxes, although missing instructions, for $1 each. People were passing on stuff everywhere, the only correctly, possibly excessively priced thing was a vintage Tonka dump truck for $50. Its amazing that people really have no idea how much LEGO is worth still. Some estate sale places try to get top dollar, some just try to empty houses. I've had some good luck with the later.
  6. My Targets are showing all but the Mansion with each store receiving the same quantities, but I only saw one store today with them displayed, and that was only the van and the plane.
  7. When my wife and I were fulfilling our china registry after our marriage when BB&B used to allow you to use their 20% coupons on Waterford, etc., we would sometimes give out extra 20% coupons to people in line. It amazed us that nobody knew that BB&B would allow you to use a coupon for each item, expired, etc. When I hear kids propositioning and being shot down in LEGO aisles I usually wonder if the denial is because of a lack of funds, responsible parenting not catering to every one of Timmy's desires, or a birthday is right around the corner and the parent is gathering some intel.
  8. Should have said "Timmy, your dad is hoping you forget about this $70 toy and ask for a 75 cent Snickers at the checkout lane." Then give the set to Timmy's dad along with $80 cash (to cover taxes) and say "This is YOUR CHANCE for Timmy to own a T-Rex, don't mess it up. And buy him a Snickers for the pain and suffering."
  9. I know what it means, I was responding to a post saying theirs were 09 date codes, meaning much older stock. Thanks for calling me a newbie.
  10. All JW's I've picked up the last week RE, IR, RR have seal codes of 19R5, 20R5, and 21R5, for what that is worth.
  11. I heard in the new Star Wars movie these same dinos have populated Endor and TLG is just reboxing these sets and swapping out ACU minifigs with Storm Troopers. Be warned.
  12. The Craigslist and Shopgoodwill gods have been shining on me this month. In the last week or two on CL I purchased Hogwarts Castle 4842 for $40, 98% complete with instructions, probably needs about $5-$10 worth of bricklink to make 100% and an open box w/ sealed bags Black Pearl for $90 along with a box of other Pirates of the Caribbean that appears to be most of the sets smaller than the Black Pearl for $20. Bad thing is those sets are glued and no instructions, good thing is looks like most if not all minifigs are there. I went a little deeper than I wanted to ($130) on a Shopgoodwill 30 pound lot that was showing some decent Star Wars, maybe a dozen minifigs and some plates. After a cursory dig I am at 50 minifigures, over half of which are Star Wars and the lot is very clean, probably no cleaning needed.
  13. Wasn't there a whole movie about this? UNLEASH THE KRAGLE!
  14. I tried searching, but couldn't find the answer because of the flood on this topic recently. What is the consensus on the box weight of a 7965? I had bought one off Craigslist for $65 a couple years ago and I was looking to dump it in the fire sale along with a 9493 X Wing I had bought at Target for 30% off. I go to take pictures and notice the MF is missing one seal, but the other looks intact. Brickset says weight is 2.28kg/5.02 lbs. Mine weighs 2.25kg/4.95 lbs. Should I just open the other seal to confirm contents before dealing with a potential eBay hassle or is this along this probably a valid weight? (Of course, my scale calibration could be off, that's a pretty small difference). In the current climate do you see these moving for $300 free shipping together, or is it better to split them up? I have a 3yr old son, I just don't see the point of sitting on this another 3 or 4 years.
  15. "Dude looks like a lady." - Aerosmith. YABU!
  16. Time will tell if its complete, but I bought a series of 3 Shop Goodwill auctions containing many of the elements of a Fort Legoredo along with some other randomness for $42. From the bad pics, looks like almost all of the minifigs are there, baseplates are there, at least one of the doors. Looks like a cool set I didn't know about (after my childhood LEGO years of 1984-1992).
  17. That building and battery pack looks like some sort of Guantanamo Bay MOC. The handcuffs on the wall really pulls it all together. Where does the waterboarding take place? Bring backup or meet at a public location when you pick that up or you may find out their basement looks EXACTLY like that brown brick building you are buying, only with a 12 volt car battery hooked up!
  18. Maybe he saw the Polish flag and is instigating a hate crime. That might increase the police response to the case. I am envisioning the planned police controlled delivery and sting operation of the Target box marked TOYS TOYS TOYS all over it and then MRAPs, Police Dropships, and SWAT dudes rolling in when Mr. Hoodie shows up.
  19. I cleared out half of a garage sale's massive haul of Duplo for our kid. Like all of the 2005 Duplo Airport line for $15, although the massive plane's decals are messed up a bit. Mack's Road Trip 5816 and some other Cars for $15, zoo stuff, circus stuff, farm stuff, about half a trunk full for $50. I probably should have picked up another tub that had a large baseplate and a couple hundred bricks for $20, but we use a Duplo table anyway. Unfortunately, missed out on the Thomas and Bob the Builder stuff.
  20. I think the head and hair makes a great Old Man from Pawn Stars MOC. Maybe 2016 will yield a Chumlee Wookie.
  21. Went to pickup my Target purchases today. One of the Cantinas was a "repackage" open box with a $49 sticker on it. I had purchased the only two they had. All 5 sealed bags were there. They were going to call another store to talk them into letting me purchase one of theirs for the same $10 off price but I could see that becoming complicated. They ended up taking the equivalent May the 4th discount (about 20%) off the repackage price, so it was $39 (about 30% off the online $56 price). Try working something like that out at a Wal-Mart.
  22. The Go Kart polybag 30314 was all over the checkout aisles at my Target today, so I picked up a couple of those.
  23. I received my first 3 of 4 sets I bought from Kmart for at home delivery yesterday. They shipped a City Snowplow in a plastic shipping bag, like you would ship clothes in. The other 2 sets were in a box. Surprisingly, the box wasn't damaged much. It only cost about $12 after using my points and other coupons, but something to consider.
  24. Awesome program. Some items will show a negative quantity but will show available. In the case of the Valentine's Pyrex, almost all stores will show over negative a dozen and available. I assumed the one that showed negative 3 for the swamp copter was from shrinkage, but its hard to stow away that much Pyrex. Thoughts?
  25. 6 Family Houses at 1 Target, $42 each. Managed to find a stashed $23 Creative Ambush there as well. Bought 5 $29 MHC's at a store I could have bought 10 at yesterday. I am hesitant on keeping all of the MHCs though, I missed out on the April $16 frenzy. Found a small girl LEGO head container for $1.67 as well, regular $7 or something.
