  1. I believe they're talking about promotional polybags, not the San Diego Comic Con minifig winners.
  2. Yes. Check out AS unboxing videos on youtube to confirm.
  3. Looking forward to seeing your superhero minifigs, I'm also a super heroes minifig collector!
  4. Wow. I wish they had made the set at least as big as the Quinjet in scale, since they are supposed to be about the same size in the comics. This blackbird just looks...lazy? Definitely not up to par with the other marvel sets I've seen, which is disappointing because I've been looking forward to this one the most. There are some indications that there might be another Marvel LEGO exclusive, so hopefully there will be something better to make up for this. On the other hand, I'm glad that they stuck to the classic costume designs as opposed to those of the movie. Minifigs look great, though the Sentinel looks lazy as well.
  5. I'm not going to discount this set until after we see how well the Guardians of the Galaxy movie fares, though I am disappointed at the build quality and minifigs for this set... they all seem so generic, and mishmash.
  6. Well said, but is this taking into account any sets that might fly off the shelves? I'm still new to the game, but have there been any examples of sets that were highly sought after, and retired fast without ever seeing sale time? I'm talking sets like Captain America's Avenging Cycle, Wolverine's Chopper Showdown, and the Hulk Helicarrier Breakout.
  7. Hey everybody! I've been a huge Marvel fan all my life, and have dabbled in both the business and collection side of Marvel collectibles. With the release of the relatively new Superheroes Marvel line, I'm returning to the LEGO world, as both a collector and investor. I'm glad to see such a helpful community of like minded people, and am looking forward to speculating, trading, and blowing our hard-earned money with you all!
  8. I've realized I haven't put in any input on my opinion for these sets either, so i'll toss them in now, though most of what I'll be saying has already been said. I can't comment much on DC sets, since I've got no knowledge on popularity of DC characters, but here are my 2 cents for Marvel. I like the Captain America / Red Skull / Hydra boxes for sure. This might very well be the next wolverine chopper showdown, since all 3 minifigs are made well, iconic, and 2/3 of them are exclusive. The Electro set is a joke. Spiderman is already in half the LEGO sets, and the Electro looks lazily done. The new Hulk set with all of the exclusive minifigs is the powerhouse, and i'm predicting it'll be VERY easy to make MSRP through parting out the minifigs alone. Definitely picking up a few of these and including one for myself. I'm having very mixed feelings about the Spiderman Green Goblin set. This iteration of the GG is hideous, and another spiderman to have to sell off sounds like a PITA. On the other hand, Mary Jane and Power Man (LUKE CAGE) could be VERY exclusive. I just wish that LEGO stayed consistent with keeping the original comic costumes.
  9. I like the idea of the Arc de Triomphe as well, along with some churches like Notre Dame or Sagrada Familia in Spain (Though I have a strong feeling that religious buildings would be shunned by LEGO for fear of the religious backlash).
  10. http://www.toysrus.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=12320507&view=all It looks like TRU has the new Superheroes sets trickling into stores. It's not available yet, but you can probably get it at MSRP if you're lucky enough to have a TRU near you that has put them on the shelves already. What do you guys see as the big winners for this line?
  11. You're correct, all of the minifigs in the set are indeed sold either as CMF's or in LEGO Movie sets. The only real exclusive part of this is the backsplash that says "LEGO movie" and the metal tin itself. I don't really know that this would be worth dropping 300 dollars on...
  12. With the LEGO Movie making some serious dough this weekend, what do you guys make of the promotional Poly bags being given away? These would include: 5002203 - Radio DJ Robot 5002045 - Pyjamas Emmet 5002204 - Western Emmet From what you've all seen with promotional bags like the Iron Patriot, are these the types of bags that you'd recommend flipping fast while the pan is hot, or should these be sat on until stock runs out?
  13. Not sure if this was mentioned yet, but the Equila's Ultra Striker set from the Legends of Chima line just retired! http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Equila-s-Ultra-Striker-70013
  14. Pretty much this: Though new to LEGO investing, from what I know about Marvel collectibles (a lot), the yellow costume is the most iconic, so this version will most likely be the most collectible, especially because it comes with Wolvie's iconic chopper. The Magneto also stays true to the comic costume, and Deadpool (as far as I know) is exclusive to the set. I don't believe that this set has hit it's plateau yet, and I don't think the next release will impact the price much over time.
  15. 6866 hands down. Deadpool is a huge Marvel fan favorite, and Magneto vs. Wolverine is a classic showdown. Add to that the fact that Deadpool has his helicopter, and Wolverine has his classic yellow suit and chopper, it's a comic fan's wet dream.
  16. Thanks for the competition! Going to go ahead and base my votes solely on the Super Heroes line, especially with how many Marvel movies are coming out this year: 10 x 68651-1 Captain America's Avenging Cycle @ 27.91 each = $279.10 10 x 4597-1 Captain America @ 34.81 each = $348.10 10 x 6866-1 Wolverine's Chopper Showdown @ 35.65 each = 356.5 1 x 30163-1 Thor and the Cosmic Cube @ 10.32 = 10.32 Total: $994.02
