Sold a UCS Sandcrawler last week that I had intended to build for quite a while. Just got a message that the buyer is building it & pieces are breaking. Set was new in sealed box, in a climate controlled garage, on a shelf, without even any light exposure. I’ve been doing this for a long time & have never had pieces break for no reason. Anyone had experience with this issue or is this dude fishing? Has a “1” feedback btw.

Not sure if this is common knowledge already, but Santa poly was in store at my Wal-mart today. First sighting @ WM for me. Long gone from my Target so was happy to spot them. -

Done here. Interested to see the results of the "How much do you spend annually?" question. I'm hoping it will make me feel better about my spending habits! -
Just got lucky w/ the target e-bay deal and scored 3 right at 3:00 est. In the car for about 6 hours (not driving!) & have been trying fairly regularly since this morning. Maybe something to the top-of-the-hour theory proposed in the DD thread?? Weird situation.

Growing up, anyone who drove a junky car, we referred to it as a sh*tbox...I think this qualifies as such. -
What Lego set did you sell today and for how much?

Sold my last 2 SW Advents for $70 BIN - free ship. Had them @ $75 & was just getting b.s. offers. Lowered it late last night & both went this morning. Probably could've held out, but felt like the window was closing. Didn't kill it on these but paid for one for myself & made a little profit. -
Cliff's Notes BP style. Wish i would've started my reading with your post.

They all do & also still at LEGO Shop at Home w/ a limit of 5. amazon being out isn't much to report. It's been in stock & out there repeatedly & rarely at MSRP for some reason. My opinion would be the opposite, that the rage over the other 2 sets has taken any focus/interest away from the Ecto-1. Not that BP is the sole indicator, but there's barely been a word on here for 10 days or so regarding this set, so it feels like it's fallen by the wayside for the time being. I think this is around a while longer, but what do I know. -
PM @ $240 - 10% (CC or gc) also would be around $216 so either method would fly, but yes, if the box is that roached, might not be worth it.
-
First step is to have them price match it for $239.99 - it's in stock at Target.com & Amazon for that price, which they will do. Second, I believe someone mentioned in a thread the other day that they tried to get a price break on a damaged box @ TRU & came up empty, but it's always worth a shot. Worst that could happen would be a "No"! 10% off if you use TRU credit card today or discount gift cards help as well.

I understand the short-run analysis aspect, the rest of it was confusing. Side note: NOT IN STOCK, but found a listing for RI for $19.99 being sold @ TRU & didn't see it mentioned previously. I did a chat w/ CS & asked if it was ever in stock, or was it just not available yet. She said since it had the "E-mail me when available" icon that it was in stock at some point & sold out. Just wondering if anyone else noticed the listing & if anyone scooped any up from there. Just wanted to point it out, just in case it pops back in stock. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=41814226&prodFindSrc=search&cp=

Why all of the scrutiny over the origins of this set? Who cares why it was made & why should someone be "blamed"? It's a $20 box of plastic bricks that no one is required to buy - it's a toy!! If they did it to appease a group of people, so be it. It's one set, not an entire line (which I think would be cool anyway). I don't think anyone was claiming there's huge demand for "girly, sciency stuff", but maybe something that isn't so stereotypically pink & silly. Was there a massive clamoring for the Mars Curiosity Rover? Did the boys (& girls) at NASA demand that set be made? As someone with a wife & daughter who have zero interest in pink princesses & lipstick, I think this is a great thing.
