Bricklink/BrickOwl - Discussion, questions, & answers
Stragus replied to chinothegeeko's topic in Other LEGO Marketplaces
@Phil B You can correct the assigned BLIDs on BrickOwl. Once it's approved, then you can update the reference cached by BrickSync using "owlqueryblid -f 11187". Or you can force a BLID<->BOID mapping with the command owlforceblid, without waiting for the update to be approved. -
Nice, though the holiday train apparently went out of stock as I was placing my first order! And TRU managed to charge me $10 of shipping for the remaining 5 Batman minifigs. Darn it. ?

I haven't posted in a while, and the forum's activity is pretty low, but I realize there hasn't been a sale worth reporting in months. I'm actually surprised, I have been selling parts for 4 years, and I don't remember seeing such a drought of sales to resplenish the inventory. In fact, I have bought almost nothing to part out in the past 7 months! Did TLG solve the non-linear system of equations to achieve the perfect production-sale equilibrium? Is the great 2x4 brick in the sky frowning upon our erethic ways? Is it an early sign of humanity entering a new post-plastic age?

So... the UCS Millenium Falcon is back in stock, if anyone is interested.

Hudson Bay! Many sets are 15% or 25% off: http://www.thebay.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/en/SearchDisplay?storeId=10701&catalogId=10652&langId=-24&pageSize=12&beginIndex=0&sType=SimpleSearch&resultCatEntryType=2&showResultsPage=true&pageView=image&searchSource=Q&searchTerm=lego&x=6&y=3 And you can currently use the promo code "VIP" for another 25% discount. The result is 44% off for sets with an existing 25% discount, and 36% off for sets with a 15% base discount. Shipping is free above 100 CAD. Have fun

Since I know many of you need good boxes to ship your sets, I have a large pile of quality boxes (mostly LEGO Shop at Home) of all sizes ready for pickup by anyone in the region of Montreal. I used to stockpile boxes for gravtation, but I believe I may have already flooded his stock, his reserve and the backup. And my apologies if the post is somewhat off-topic. The boxes (100+) need to go this week. Thank you!

Does anyone know if you can still get the freebies if you buy online and do an in-store pickup?
-
It could have been great, if Toys R Us didn't have quantity limits per order. An extra 10% off on a $1000 order is all right
-
Not bad, just in case... But where did you see that text or the promotion? I can see where to register for the R Club, but I don't see any mention of that 10%.
-
Cool. But how do you organize these donations? Do you just show up at the hospital with a bunch of Lego and ask them to distribute? There are always small sets that I couldn't get in a reasonable quantity to part out (1-4) and I would love to donate them. Friends and family are already flooded with Lego...

I realize I wasn't precise. The package and shipping label were addressed to me. The paper invoice (and matching content) indicate the real customer is several provinces away.
-
Hrm, I'm having a little dilemma. I have received an extra LEGO Shop at Home package that wasn't mine, there's about $40 worth of sets plus the two promotional items. I am very tempted to do the Right Thing: call Lego, say that someone is missing their order and how to return it. But I'm also afraid of drawing any attention to my account or purchase history, as it definitely shows signs of being a reseller's. Anyone has experience regarding what Lego does in such circumstances?

Speaking from my narrow experience, I can say that if you list 10-50 Snowglobes on BrickOwl/BrickLink at 25 USD, someone from the U.S. will grab them all to put on eBay down there. That should be easy enough. Selling them individually may be difficult in Canada due to the high shipping cost, and you'll probably have to wait until November/December. Demand for the Piggy bank appears low... But the parts are good, a big stack of them would be interesting to a seller of parts (like me).
-
And that was an excellent call. It's out of stock now, but I would have grabbed a dozen to part out.
-
What the... When the Snowglobe went live at midnight, at the moment I did all my purchases, the list of sales was practically empty! Darn it.
-
Alert! There's a Christmas in July surprise at LEGO Shop at Home ! For any order of 99+ CAD, we currently receive TWO gifts: 40223 LEGO Snowglobe V39 40251 Mini Piggy Bank V39 These two gifts have a value of about 50 CAD. Put another way, everything under 100 CAD is half-price.
-
All right, thanks, it's good enough to part out (note that it's a 2017 set so part/minifig values are expected to go down). I bought a "few", 18 left.
-
The Saturn V is back in stock! https://shop.lego.com/en-CA/LEGO-NASA-Apollo-Saturn-V-21309 At full MSRP, but eh, you get a Mini Piggy Bank!
-
Darn, that hurts. Here, shipping 2 BWE to Montreal is so cheap (18 CAD) that it comes out for free (10 shipping discount for each).
-
