  1. A better challenge is 48 hrs without a single whiny post about box condition. Good question. I have been wondering about it too. Fake minifigs?
  2. Strange that people are expecting so much advance feature out of Friends series. They are targeted at pre-puberty girls For advanced roller coaster, I think better to pester the Technic design team instead. After the largest technic set ever in H2 2016, LEGO is more or less out of fresh ideas. Technic roller coaster series could be a good possibility to keep the fans happy.
  3. Are you opening a ore mine in your backyard?
  4. Can always MOC given the large amount of space within. Key thing is the exterior shape, which should contain a number of new pieces
  5. There are many of individual buyers and sellers, spread across the world, each acting on their individual interests. The balance of all the people pulling in all different direction gives you a free market. Overthinking this matter isn't going to change anything; it is like watching a kettle boil thinking that your vision and will power can make the water boil any faster or slower.
  6. There is no repeat of 8110. Only thing is unimog post reitrement supply was too high as many people climbed on board, especially with articles on brickpicker touting the merits of large technic set as good investment. If you think that the upcoming porche is going to make money, then be prepared for the rest of brickpicker crowd joining you. The nature of this game has changed.
  7. It is a free market. If demand is stronger than supply, then prices will rise, else prices will stagnant or fall.
  8. Probably easier to procure some illicit items like guns, bombs or drugs
  9. Probably the really large sets are reserved for creator expert series. Though i wonder why do buckingham palace? I dont quite see the architectural significance of this building.
  10. Is the batman cycle chase set featuring a kiddy version of batpod?
  11. Wow 3927 pieces! I wanna buy, but where do i store it after building? And the porche looks sweet. Seems like either lego has to create quite a number of new technic panels, or the actual model is going to contain plenty of gaps. My new year resolution is down the drain.
  12. You are right. This is same width as robbie house. Depth is narrower though. Nonetheless i am happy now after a disappointing 2015 for architecture series.
  13. Finally something to take over from imperial hotel, and white house will be less lonely. 48 studs wide? Also on scale of robbie house !
  14. BK is the tallest building in the world, and likely will remain so for many year to come. Also in NYC set, i would say only the empire state building looks good, the rest are a bit of letdown. There will be people who prefer standalone flatiron and empire state buildings found in earlier sets.
  15. Does this mean that 42030 will be gone soon to make space for 42055 and 42056?
  16. Haha, you are absolutely right. Any modular or star wars ucs sitting in home of a investor has a very high risk of being built, even though original intention is to sell the unopened set. And then it becomes an addiction. Speaking from personal experience.
  17. Yeap, and i think the key is whether over time, there will be enough people opening up the sets to build. Without builders, the supply will remain constant after retirement, waiting for the next greater fool to buy over. I think for the more popular SW sets we can be assured of constant stream of sets being "consumed" after set retirement. I am not entirely sure of Slave 1 at moment.
  18. I think this is universal across all lego sets in that pieces tend to get loose during play. My kid has great fun meshing up the pieces to form new crazy weapons systems all the time. And nexo knights is right up his alley. I presume this is how kids play as their minds are much less constrained than adults.
  19. as i look at the videos of various sets, it stirred the little boy in me. A castle on wheeled tracks?! Holy cow, how cool is that! Showed my son, and he said its crazy, in an bemused manner. He wants to play with the fortrex set and i can imagine this will be his favorite for a while. The fortrex set can be combined with another small set to form a complete square shape castle. I am beginning to think that this series could be more popular than chima. A few fathers might just want to buy it "for their kids"
  20. Note that quite a few were sold during this holiday season, and i regularly hear about it being discussed as one of more desirable star wars UCS set. I think quite a few sets are opened and built for display. This set should appreciate nicely in next few years.
  21. Better to just leave original stickers unused, then buy custom stickers online to give it a more interesting, real life look. Plenty of choices on ebay.
  22. I am doubtful because exosuit is never part of a pop culture like back to the future, star wars etc. Will there be sufficient ideas collectors in future to wipeout all the exosuits?
  23. Too bad we are half a world away. Shipping cost too high.
  24. I bought 2 sets, against my instincts. My son looked at it and said meh. He prefers the ninjago mechs, more play features and colour. Now i have to offload them, at slight loss maybe.
