Hi all, I recently motorised this set (full steering and propulsion) and had fun fitting and fiddling the motors, finding space, weight reduction and fixing the "gears" from flying off. If only this set was smaller......like the size of the new mini cooper

Looking through the treads of this post, it looks like those who buy will be collectors more than investors. If the price drops later due to lack of demand, I might get another set of 16 (1 for display and one for long term investment) I am a big simpsons fan so I definitely can't miss this! Compared with the Simpsons house (71006) this is much more compact to collect and display, plus I really don't think it was "that" good Personally opinion only

If LEGO made the nose of the new train a bit more rounder it will look exactly like DB ICE 3. But in terms of resemblance it will have to be the Horizon Express (SNCF TGV). Too bad it is only half the set

Same here. Are you buying it for personal consumption or for investing? I thought hard about this because I was not sure whether I will be able get my hands on a R2-D2 in Australia with 20% or more readily. Any ideas when the R2-D2 set is retiring?

I just bought a City set at 37.5% off at BigW over the weekend. If I see a R2D2 at target with 20% off I would definitely get a set.

Agree. Simply don't understand why "shipping" cost can be so expensive in AUS. Is GST part of the reason as well? From an investment perspective aussies are always make 10 - 20% less than our American Counterparts..
