  1. My wife is starting a new project today. I'm loving the organization.
  2. Two green Lego Duplo base plates for $6 each and 7x series 15 minifigure packs at $3 each from Learning Express. Duplo for the kids. Minifigs for me. I got a Skunk Catcher, 3x Kendo Master, Jewel Thief, Shark Suit Guy, and Native American Woman.
  3. Bought Volkswagen T1 Camper Van from Niko on eBay. Technically yesterday during the 8% back special. $99 after a gift card. Also got $9 back.
  4. Also came across this Contruction site with tower crane designed toward modulars. http://r.ebay.com/dmI76h
  5. feed, I saw that and have already voted my support. Looks great! Just don't want to wait. Lol
  6. Thank you! I was afraid it would be too big. I will try to find a deal on one of those. I really like the 7633 set.
  7. Hi, I am interested in building a modular display with my Lego sets. I have recently purchased the Cinema Display and Parisian Restaurant. I will also add a few more soon including Detectives Office, Brick Bank, and possible MOCs. I would love to have a crane in my city as I build the difference sets. I have looked at the Lego Technic Crawler Crane 42042, and it looks amazing, but I am worried about the scale. Does anyone have experience with the size of this crane as it sits next to modulars or can anyone offer advice on another crane option that is available or hasn't shot up too far in price after retirement? Thank you! I read these forums daily and love to learn from them!
  8. Bought the Parisian Restaurant with the $25 off $125 eBay deal yesterday. $146.19 from Target.
  9. Bought Palace Cinema for Double VIP points to get my modular collection started. Plan to use the points toward my next piece soon. Even though the LEGO site says Out of Stock, i've already received a shipment notification.
  10. I lucked out on a double coupon deal at yoyo.com and got 2 for $60 each. I dont expect to find that again anytime soon though.
  11. Thanks this definitely helped to refine my search. I may need to change my project up though. Some of the bricks i'm using are pretty expensive now. Thanks again!
  12. Hi, I have recently started using the Lego Digital Designer to build a waterway for a pirate ship set I have. I am finding that some of the pieces that are in the Lego Designer program are hard to locate. I am using some blue transparent plates to help make the water, and I have having a hard time finding anything like it on Pick-A-Brick through Lego. I also know of Bricklink.com, but through a few searches I haven't found any there either. Any suggestions for finding these bricks after I get my design finished? Thanks.
  13. ah, good to know. Thanks!
  14. I just saw this tonight but it is the Tower of Orthanc at TRU. I thought it was going to be a Lego store exclusive. Heres the link. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=23949316 It isn't available to purchase yet, but I find it interesting that TRU has it on their site.
  15. This has been an extremely informative site. I have decided to try my hand at investing in a few lego sets as it seems like a fun hobby to help fund a personal collection. I found LoTR Weathertop on clearance for $20 each at my local Walmart and bought a few. I also picked up a Hulk Breakout for $35. I bought a few others but these are the main ones I have a question about. At what point is it a good idea to sell? I realize no one may no the perfect time as sets go up and down, but I would like to hear your opinions. The average price listed on this site now for either of those sets are over $50 so I could already try to make a profit, but should I expect prices to rise more? Any advice would be a great help as I'm sure it would apply to other sets I may invest in as well. Thanks. Sorry if this has been covered somewhere else already. I haven't found it yet if so.
  16. Hey Kit I'm newer here too! Welcome
  17. Thanks for the welcome everyone! And no worries steakyboy I'm a Clemson fan.
  18. Hi everyone, I am newer to Lego investing and collecting. I'd like to say thanks for the great information on this site as well as the great discussions that are in the message boards. I've enjoyed Legos for years but only recently have started buying sets again. I recently took advantage of the LOTR clearance at the Walmart locations near me. I now have Helm's Deep, Mines of Moria, Orc Forge, Attack on Weathertop, Gandalf Arrives, and Urak-hi Army. I bought 2x of a couple of those sets. Now I just need to find some money to pick up a Tower of Orthanic! Thanks again for a great site! Josh
