  1. Was going to get only maybe like 1 or 2, but then it's hard to pass up a deal like this, so got total of 5 in 4 transactions. Sure was hoping for some other great deals, but not much else. The 10% on the other SW sets isn't much when I can get a better deal on Amazon. I did notice that Amazon dropped the B-wing price by 8% today (er, yesterday for you on the East coast). Miro
  2. Makes sense that the Fire Brigade will go EOL first, it's discounted everywhere, whereas the GE is not yet. It's a bit counter intuitive since another corner building is coming out, but I think TLG is alternating corner and non-corner row buildings. Glad I picked up some FBs during the holidays with free shipping and discount. I haven't got the catalog, is that something you need to request every time? Miro
  3. Lego shop at home site will not show sets in their categories if they are sold out. In another words, why show sets that they have no inventory in stock. You can still search for them.
  4. It shows it sold out and retiring soon for me (US market). http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Imperial-Shuttle-10212 Amazon still sells it at 8% off retail price.
  5. Oh so many possibilities. These come to mind: the Kremlin (nice design and colors), the Leaning tower of Pisa (difficult build to keep from falling over), Coliseum, Mount Rushmore (they already have a large scale one at Legoland California), Golden Gate bridge, Mayan pyramid temple. Miro
  6. Hmm interesting. LEGO supposedly is also releasing a box of 30, which includes just 1 full set and 14 extras. I work like 10 minutes from Legoland California so I can probably stop by to get some if they do sell it. Let me know what you find out. Thanks! I called today and they said that they won't be getting them at Legolabd until January. We might go tomorrow with the kids, so I'll make sure to ask again. Miro
  7. I live near Legoland and they sell unopened boxes, for regular retail of 60x$2.99 ($179.40+tax at 7.75%, but 10% off for membership holders, so about $174 plus change final cost). Will try to see if they have any in stock when they open the park on Thursday. The park is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the off season. Miro
  8. Just bought 5 at Target with price matching, for $12.50 a piece. Good to know about the price matching. Miro
  9. Thanks for breaking it down for us. I have a store on Bricklink, and I haven't sold a thing on Ebay for about 9 years. Wow, things sure turned bad for Ebay in the last years. I don't think I'll be selling through them. I'll stick with Bricklink even if I have to wait longer. Miro
  10. That's why you buy more than one. I couldn't pass up the offer, so I picked up two last week before it sold out. Great deal, plus 10% off, free shipping and free holiday set. I might keep one of these for when the boys get a bit older. Miro
  11. I tried adding them to my cart, but it won't let me. I think they are just getting the pages ready for launch on Nov. 27th. Hopefully they'll still have some sale. I am thinking they are waiting until after the sale promotions are over, so that they can sell them at full price. Miro
  12. Hobbit sets now showing on the Lego Shop at Home site, with prices, available on November 27th. http://search2.lego.com/?q=Hobbit〈=2057&cc=US Miro
  13. Cool, thanks. Picked up 2 of the Lighthouse Islands that are on sale, plus 40% off one of them and free shipping all for $58.59 with tax. That makes it out to $29.30 each, which is 25% below MSRP. Miro
  14. Thanks TheOrcKing, for putting all that work into finding and linking all those custom Modualar buildings. They are great. It's apparent that there are very talented and creative Lego builders out there producing great looking modulars. I think this modular line will continue for at least couple more yers due to it's popularity. I do notice a shift in Lego sets that the company produces incorporating interesting use of Lego pieces in the construction that seems to have started in the MOC community. Miro
  15. For my kid's room I use the Trofast storage bins with the wall mount unit from Ikea. Link: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/search/?query=Trofast They have a variety of sizes to suit your needs. The boxes are nice quality and look the type that don't crack easily. Miro
  16. Thanks for the PBK3 code. It also seems to give you 10% off without having to spend $150. Miro
  17. How about a school, bike shop, barber shop, flower shop/plant nursery, or pharmacy. I like some of the other ones mentioned earlier, especially diner, donut shop. I don't know if they would do bakery or post office, since they crossover with the Winter theme sets. Miro
  18. Good plan. Plus you get the in-store bonus pick-a-brick box. There's only one store around here so I'm going to press my luck. I can always exchange them later. Yeah very true, I would probably do the same if I were you. I'm lucky I have 2 Lego stores here in the Washington DC area, actually a 3rd a little over an hour away but I don't plan to bother with that. By the way what is the in store pick a brick box? I mean I know what pick a brick is, but is Lego also giving away a free pick a brick box too on black Friday? And if so do I get to chose what color bricks I get? The reason I ask is because I need more white bricks as I'm currently working on a sweet holiday/christmas MOC and more white bricks = more snow I believe you get the Holiday box to fill at PAB wall, but on your return visit after the holidays. I can't recall which site I read this at (Brickset or Bricklink). Miro
  19. Sweet! It works, got 10% off, free shipping and free holiday gift (winter horse sleigh scene, forget actual name) along with purchased Winter Cottage (to keep) and Winter Bakery (for investment). Didn't go crazy. Happy shopping all. Miro
  20. If I didn't get the invitation, but am a VIP member, will the deal still work? Miro
  21. Well I am new to investing in Lego. Started about a month ago, so I have some time before my sets appreciate before I flip them. In the meantime I am diversifying into a related Lego investing selling small sets and individual parts through Bricklink. There is money to be made there. It's more work, but I don't mind it, because I am in it for fun and challenge. It's my new hobby, I won't get rich quick, so I guess it depends what you are looking for. I wonder if a fail safe strategy for Lego set investors would be to sell sets after appreciation for profit, and those sets that are duds could be parted out and selling them through Bricklink. To me that seems to make sense. Anybody else trying out or doing this strategy? Miro
  22. Likewise. I shutter to think about just how much that character will go for on eBay. Oh boy.... Elrond is already listed on Bricklink site for ~$34 to $40 in sealed condition. I am not one of the lucky ones selling though. If you wait, price will come down with increasing inventory. http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?q=Elrond Miro
  23. Just got the Maersk train delivered today directly from Lego LEGO Shop at Home. Noticed a slight crease/dent along the bottom of the front side. Hardly noticeable, but I was jut wondering if that is going to affect the value down the road. I can try to attach a picture if that would help. I suppose I could try to go through the hassle of returning and getting a replacement, if it is a legit claim, chancing that the next shipment won't get damaged any more. Miro
  24. Apparently some people think that either 1) you only care about the contents (someone who just wants to play with the bricks (discounting investors/collectors) or 2) that the Post Office clerks gently pick-up and set-down the packages, like you would from store shelf to a shopping cart. I am glad I didn't have that experience yet. I just got a Winter Toy Shop off of eBay purchase and the box was inside a slightly larger box with extra cardboard on all sides. Somewhat acceptable, but I think it would not fare so well if one of the corners got crumpled. I guess the lesson is to tell them packaging/shipping specifics by e-mail or they risk a refund. If that's possible. What were their feedback ratings like? Maybe I should pay closer attention to that in the future. Miro
