  1. I saw this independently the other day. It's actually also listed under Kansas City CL. I made an offer to him that was declined lol at 2000. Seems like he's willing to deliver if the "price is right"... I think for such a collection, if he's willing to deliver, I'd offer 4000. What do you guys think? Reasonable or crazy?
  2. They all have instructions, only 3 have boxes. I took the offer. I think if I sell separately it'd be in the neighborhood of 350 (bc of bloated eBay prices) but it's more convenient to sell it together. After fees/shipping it's about 230. Not bad, more than 3x what I put in. Time to sell my classic space and space police I sets lol
  3. Thanks for the input. Yeah I figured it'd be good to take it so I accepted it. My greedy side was kicking in lol. Kind of a hassle to sell individually, not to mention having to deal with higher fees/shipping.
  4. I've got a collection on of futuron sets. 13 used sets, 3 have boxes (cosmic laser launcher, interplanetary rover, and Stardefender 200), the rest are complete with instructions. I've had a lot of offers, most is in 200 range. I bought this on cl for 70. The highest offer I've gotten is 275... Should I accept and sell? I used lot calculator that puts this lot at about 320 so it's not too far off. Here is a pic:
  5. The sets in he pictures have no box, but the list have box and instructions. If I t was just those pictures I would pass (he actually sent me 27 pictures, the others depicted the sets that have boxes but I was too lazy to post them. Boxes look like their in great shape. I estimated about ~50 sets total I do agree though that there's not as much profit and isn't as great as his last two lots but my collector side is kicking in lol. I'll try to negotiate down to maybe around 300-330... Maybe I'll sell drag cars together as a lot, planes together etc... I dunno haha
  6. So I've been purchasing sets from this guy (had an earlier topic as well) but he's got some more to sell... and again I'm asking for some opinion The total cost of this lot is $360. I've bought from him and verified a good amount of his sets, they have been as described The sets pictured are sets that are complete with instructions but no box. I haven't been able to identify them all yet... crapload of sets though, like 15 classic space sets alone in one pic (side question: is selling the classic space sets as a lot for ~100 realistic??) Also, includes the following sets which are complete w/ box and instructions: 8044 technic universal pneumatic 8832 technic roadster... has a weird looking minifig 6378 shell service station 6748 boulder cliff canyon 6071 forestman's crossing 6386 police command base 6357 stunt copter ****** truck 6450 light & sound mobile police truck 6480 light & sound hook and ladder truck 6380 emergency treatment center 4015 freighter 4005 tug boat 4011 cabin cruiser 6401 paradisa seaside cabana 6402 paradisa sidewalk cafe 6405 paradisa sunset stables 6341 gas ******' go flyer 6375 trans-air carrier and a few more small sets... like a pizzeria set, some small police sets and windsurfing sets...
  7. So I got it down to 275. Yeah I just realized that about the bidding thing. Way better to do BIN and have usps pickup. I think imma get it. He's gonna have more sets for me next week lol, excited to see what he has in store. I'll be posting again for more input from you experts :)
  8. No I would sell them separately, with flat rate shipping to lower cost risks. The advantage of just doing auction is that I'd set them to end at same time and make a single trip to ship.
  9. Would it be safe to "let it ride" w/ actual auction instead of buy-it-now? All my previous purchases have been BIN so I'm not sure how risky it is to auction instead... Setting reserve puts off a lot of bidders also as well.
  10. The nice thing I know about him is that he's not a reseller but he takes really good care of his legos. He's pretty well off and has TONS of legos. He does some research on prices but not much and would rather sell it more quickly (different priorities now). He sold me LIKE NEW (literally, great box/instructions, shiny pieces, it even has the extra pieces) fire brigade, pet shop, grand emporium, and 6990 monorail for $400 total. Monorail by itself is approx ~250, which he was aware of. I'm thinking of negotiating down to $275... I did some research and it looks like the used (for him, used = like new) 7722 train is worth ~150 (~120 after fees). My biggest concern though, is how accurate BP is for USED sets. I cross checked w/ bricklink as well. In theory, this lot is worth ~800-900 (~600 after fees/shipping) and although I know I'd need to recheck completeness, it should be easy since he's already confirmed it.
  11. I saw on CL for the following USED sets (all complete w/ box and instructions) for $300. (He confirmed completeness by rebuilding it himself... he's sold me stuff before so I know its legit when he says its complete). Is this a good deal to resell?? 4021 - police patrol4010 - police rescue boat4030 - cargo carrer4020 - fire fighter7722 - steam cargo train6377 - delivery center6396 - international jetport6346 - shuttle launching crew6368 - jet airliner6345 - aerial acrobats6356 - med-star rescue plane6544 - shuttle transcon6387 - coastal rescue base6442 - sting ray explorer6379 - riding stable6940 - alien moon stalker6358 - snorkel squad6353 - coastal cutter6381 - motor speedway6393 - big rig truck stop
  12. Saw this on craigslist: Mindstorms Robotics Invention 2.0, 718 pieces "I actually have two, one in the box it came in and another in a tackle box. I know it is missing the cd for the program but I am sure you could find it on the internet. $75 and you get both. " Seems like a good deal, they said they THINK its complete (if not then most should be there) Pull the trigger??
  13. I love this set. I sold 60+ and netted a few grand. After closely inspecting my stock, I kept one that was as close as perfect condition as I could find, boxed it up and archived it. Did the same with my 41999 crawlers as I made a few grand off that one as well.
  14. Interested in the Simpsons house thing for 160 ea, send me pm for details. Picked up deal on Cl: 1 x creator expert Sydney opera house 1 x town hall 1 x grand emporium 1 x palace cinema 1 x 7965 millennium falcon All new/sealed. All for 625. Figured it was a good deal and jumped on it
  15. Like. Lol very curious.
  16. Got 50 Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape - $36 apiece from TRU, wished I'd gotten them from lego.com when it was on sale for 20...
  17. Ok so, I found a CL deal (in my opinion, I thought it was good, what do you guys think?). 10175 - UCS Tie Fighter -135 USED - 5% built (pretty much all bags except 1 sealed) 10174 - UCS AT-ST - 125 NEW 7784 - UCS Batmobile - 125 NEW 7783 - Bat Cave - 135 NEW 7662 - MTT - 150 NEW 6211 - ISD - 195 NEW Since I was willing to buy them all, he knocked off $50. I thought it was a really good deal, but I guess I need some assurance lol.
  18. Went on this thread out of curiosity and wanted to put contribute some thoughts: Back then there were two sets I really wanted but never got. The launch command space shuttle from 1995 and Fort Legoredo. For the first one, it was retired long before I knew about Legos so I just got over it. For Fort Legoredo, I was at the store, wanting it, but we weren't well off (we're immigrants) so a $100 set was truly luxurious. I waited a year, saving up birthday and new years money from family to get it for myself. By then the set was gone. So you know what happened? I got over it and went on with life. Now I have a job and a sidejob from selling legos. Just from Lego selling, my net profit is over 5g. I could easily buy those sets at secondary prices and would have no problem about it. Heck, I'm actually thankful that there were some people out there who had the foresight to keep/preserve those sets for me if I ever decided to buy them. My point is, I've been "that kid" who couldn't get the set I wanted but I got over it. Either by resellers or by financial reasons, if a kid can't get a pricey Lego set, I'm sure they'll get over it. I'm pretty sure it was a good thing I didn't get it because I used that time to go outside to play instead. As a reseller, business is business. I'm on this site for one reason - to make extra cash so I can take more vacations, spend more time and $$ on family. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, so my opinion is that Lego (especially the higher priced sets) is more of a commodity like stocks than a toy because its mostly adults who are doing the buying/selling.
  19. I went for it, the guy was juice enough to drive to a location close to me. Indeed excellent deal because the pieces look brand new, and the incomplete sets had all the minifigures. :)
  20. Found a Harry Potter lot on Craigslist: 4842 hogwarts castle - 100% complete w/ box and instructions 4867 battle for hogwarts - 100% complete w/ box and instructions 4865 forbidden forest - incomplete w/ instructions only 4737 quidditch match - incomplete, no instructioins or box bag of spare parts that came with the set All for $215. I think its a decent deal because of 4842 and 4867 so I took him up on that offer. Everything else is just bonus. Probably not great for investment but its for my colection What do you guys think
  21. Lol I was asking for the same thing. I think its fair if anyone wants to trade for my crawlers. Pristine boxes here
  22. Hi Mark! It's Phillip. Yes I can vouch that Mark is legit, he's helping me pay off my ridiculously high student loans. He's got special reservations on all my crawlers lol. Great communication, smooth easy tranactions!
  23. You know what I'm interested in? Those Winter Village Sets that retired. I'm willing to trade one of my new crawlers for: Winter Toy Shop Winter Village Post Office Winter Village Bakery They can be new or used, but COMPLETE w/ box and instructions, this is for my personal collection. PM me if interested.
  24. I think there are always a few who are in position or have come up with a consistent way to produce income to make a real living from selling legos. Others can make some money off of reselling as a side job. Since getting into Legos this August, my net profit is about 2.5 ***, but that is nothing compared to my actual day job. And of course, 2.5 *** over 3 months is not enough to support a living. But my goal of making a few extra hundreds per month from just selling stuff is a good plan because its a fun hobby, I get to look at new sets and reviews (which I would do anyways), and if I want a set for myself, I'm using Lego profits for it.
