I think every tom, **** and harry will be buying series 10 on the off chance they get a Mr Gold and fob off all the extras/duplicates they get in the process of their fruitless search- I think this could lead to a glut in the after market - for that reason alone I am staying clear of series 10 other than to get the cool ones for myself but I'm not buying them off the shelf I'm waiting to get them cheap in the after market- could be wrong but I think the series may end up depreciating quicker than any of the others due to over supply !

Try these two forum posts on bricklink http://www.bricklink.com/messageThread.asp?ID=139536 - chromeking71 did a ghost train mod - quite a nice one at that and is quite approachable and friendly - I'm sure he'd share hints and tips http://www.bricklink.com/messageThread.asp?ID=138972

Just had to read that out to the family here - we are collectively JEALOUS much. We dream for LEGO at your USA retail prices even without being on sale and then you go and post that little haul LOL !

My article made the LEGO news feed on the site!

We're in count down panic mode now with last minute prep on display MOCS, tweaking the minifig themed golf course obstacles, trying to think about all the things I have probable forgotten to organise etc but will definitely put something together for the flip side to show everyone - if all goes to plan I will only need to work for a week once a quarter and can justify playing with LEGO every week between and still cover the mortgage A slightly different take on LEGO investing I guess but hopefully equally as effective :) -

Can try this one ? http://www.qt.com.au/news/lego-lovers-ready-to-rebuild-world-brick-by-brick/1695909/ my website is www.switchbricks.com :) -
Just cruising BrickPicker news after a big day and what should I come across but an article about my upcoming holiday venture switch bricks - the article is "rebuilding the world brick by brick". Very cool to see my humble little article pop up internationally on the Brickpicker site ! While I don't do a lot of trading/investing in LEGO Switch Bricks is my way of enjoying my hobby and sharing it with others. If you're an aussie using this site, in South East Queensland and have Kiddies that love LEGO too check out the article

PS = the other thing I hate about custom instructions - I don't always have the $ for interiors so I'd love it if the xml lists (for upload to wanted on Bricklink) and instructions were clearly divided between internal and external bricks (as long as these don't intercept of course) so that I could just buy the parts needed for outside - so if you are looking to design for re-sale keep that in mind as a possible thing to work into your designs (or maybe I'm the only one who does this LOL )

love the fence and trees on the haunted MOC - nice:)

Where did you buy these instructions (wax museum etc.)? I thought I saw them on Ebay, but the only place I can find them is on his website: www.modulars.nl. Have you also bought them over there? If so, how was the delivering procedure? Very interested in purchasing these. Got them via electronic delivery after purchase on ebay - haven't gotten around to starting piece collecting for it yet though - was gonna try and do it in white rather than tan to keep costing down with a dark bluish grey roof as I think white and black may be too stark in contrast. The other thing you have to watch with any custom mocs is that their xml coding is correct as its a real pain in the pooper when its wrong in uploading into your wanted list. Good luck

ha I guess so- except it was Saturday here in Oz and we don't really have black friday

So I purchased a bulk lot yesterday for a school holiday activity I'm running - mainly for the random mix of bricks and bits which can be hard to replicate piece by piece. The photos of the listing were terrible but I took a punt. Happy with the contents at initial glance - a stack of knights kingdom stuff (including 2 castles) and spotted a few indications of spiderman which turned out to be doc ocks hideout. Probably worth four times what I paid on those bits alone ! Further digging last night revealed fire and police stations, a very cool rescue helicopter plus more smallish city sets, exo force and a tiny bit of star wars just in the bulk lot. Pretty happy with that, BUT, here is the clincher ... when I arrived to pick up my bulk lot, I was offered a big container of Harry Potter LEGO for $100. The seller mentioned Hogwarts Express and Durmstrangs ship, and I can see a stack of figs indicating lots more so I figured on that alone I'm happy to pull the trigger. After going through instructions and figs that were chucked in one of the boxes I have well over $1200 worth of HP in that box !!!! Escape from Merpeople, Knight Bus, Shrieking shack, Gringotts Bank, troll on the loose, Hagrid's Hutt, forbidden corridor, graveyard duel, two HP castles, Harry and Hungarian Horn tail plus more. I'm not going to sell it anyway - I've decided its a nice way to start a HP collection (better watch the movies at some point) AND it's really nice to be able to justify my purchase so unequivocally with Hubby - you know you've done well when he ( as a tolerant non-AFOL) is rummaging through the bags and boxes picking out figures in exclamation ! Ahh the bliss of a bargain.

What Lego set did you sell today and for how much?

Maybe someone should start a thread titled, "Hey, where's the chicks?!" Heh heh. Seriously, though. I would like to know of the lady brickheads out there. Toss around some ideas, shoot the breeze, you know, whatever. Oh yeah, great thread by the way. Lol would you like me to start the new "where are the chicks" thread (as you so eloquently described ) so you don't get smacked down by lady agro. I can shout out to the AFFOL's, one chick to another and wouldn't mind knowing if there are any other gals around too. I'm Tammy ... I'm a girl ... and addicted to LEGO of the non-friends variety ! -

This is what I was talking about, nicely done. On the other point, I didn't know if we had any females here or not, but didn't want to exclude from the conversation. we have one female here but she rarely posts..... Surely there is more than one female here - come on girls, show your colours ! -
How do you go about creating a MOC?
madaboutsesame replied to stephen_rockefeller's topic in Building LEGO
No worries .. have fun !!! -
I'm pretty much in the design and build phase of a very large city so anything that fits with that at the moment is what i keep an eye out for... only limited by imagination. The more refined (less superfluous parts that ramp up the cost unnecessarily) but with high detail, the better if I'm going to build from instructions but honestly I am having too much fun with designing my own now that it would have to be pretty kick butt and easy to recreate for me to purchase more instructions at this point in my LEGO Lifecycle...
