  1. Apparently LEGO has deals with other companies to produce those patent prints because I just got one for my birthday that my parents picked up at an antiques store. It's not the exact same thing, but it's darn close.
  2. In my opinion the gold coin is the best looking one of the bunch. No paint so that's out of the way. Sharp looking design and reflective enough to where if you angle it at a light you'll blind yourself. Exactly what I look for in a VIP coin.
  3. It gone. Lasted about the same time after the expected drop time as the Space coin, if not slightly less. Source: Brickset
  4. Who knows honestly. I think the case plays a major role in deciding, as it is the 1st or 2nd most valuable item in the set, but pointless if you don't have at least two coins (and doesn't look quite right unless you have all five). I imagine we see a lot of listings with the Castle, Pirates, Octan and Gold coin bundled with the case. Space coin will be the one that sets a small portion of listings apart from the rest.
  5. Possibly. Or the seller is about to get themselves into a royal mess.
  6. And now we start observing which will go for more: the entire set of coins and case or everything individually.
  7. Was actually more like four or five hours. But that was because it dropped four or five hours before midnight. Didn't last a half hour past then.
  8. Did the same, although I will admit that my paranoia meant my phone was all ready to go just in case lol.
  9. Appears as if the 9 am time is accurate so far.
  10. Is is though? There are a lot of fans out there who are completely unaware of the re-release, that and some people are also impatient. I don't think it will lower the price any until they are actually re-released. But we'll see.
  11. Personally, not really. It never states that you get any points, and I always assumed the "earned" part is simply the way of telling both you and the system that you completed the survey, just like what happens when you earn points. No sense in writing completely new code for that one slot if you ask me. And because it never advertised points in the first place, I didn't expect anything. So I'm pretty indifferent about it. Maybe others will disagree.
  12. I'm pretty certain every coin was originally supposed to drop on the 1st of the first five months. Likely the only reason the first one dropped in the middle of January was a delay, because past that, they've all dropped on the 1st's. I'm still checking every night, but I would be shocked if the last coin became available any sooner (or later) than May 1st.
  13. Yeah, he's doing things that don't feel real, to put it simply. Things I still feel only exist in movies. Which is of course helped by Elon being...well, Elon.
  14. And nowadays it's just mainly Elon Musk saying "Haha, rocket blast off", right? (Tbf though, his stuff is pretty amazing). I will say that if we ever put a human on Mars, I think the world might experience the sort of feelings you're talking about. Hope so anyways.
  15. Fair. I am in my early 20's and have only been a serious fan since around 2014-2015 (mainly due to being a poor child/teenager), so I'm guessing that more or less explains it. I do want to point out however that I am very much aware of the impact that the Space theme had. I just wasn't sure if it and NASA were connected at the hip (if that's what you are referring to).
  16. If I may ask a slightly off topic question, why is this set so popular in the first place? Exclusive pieces? Exclusive prints? Am I just ignorant to the amount of impact that NASA has had on people? Genuinely curious.
  17. As a former distribution warehouse worker, I think it's less about cost saving and more that the UK distribution centers are less strict/organized compared to the US and simply aren't doing as much (unfortunately). Believe me when I tell you that distribution warehouses are not short on boxes lol.
  18. Like I said, I think they redesigned it. Both the Octan and Space coins have SIGNIFICANTLY cleaner designs and painting than the first two. And notice how the other three have some sort of background art. I definitely think the original actually had stars before they likely realized it looked crappy, and it wasn't just editing done to the photo. That's my guess anyways.
  19. Got my space coin today. It was a little loose in the case, to the point where I could shake it into position (which was kind of nice honestly), but other than that, no issues. And there's actually no "stars" that people were talking about. Methinks LEGO did some redesigning after the first two coins for sure.
  20. Is it actually? That would be incredibly quick if so.
  21. One just reached $268 on Ebay. Two hours and change left.
  22. Weird, the Carrot House didn't show up for me. Guessing it varies not just by country, but also by warehouse.
  23. I literally got my coin right before it crashed. Reloaded the site after my purchase to see if it said "redeemed" and nothing is coming up.
  24. Discovered that part where they send the rest of the items in an order except for the stuff that's unavailable when I pre-ordered the Carnage bust along with one other thing in order to get a 2nd Earhart set. Thought they would all come at the same time and was willing to wait, but nope, everything but Carnage arrived within the week. So that was nice.
  25. Short-time lurker, likely not going to post much, but I figured I'd let you all know that I received my Octan coin today (the benefits of living less than three hours away from a LEGO warehouse) and either I got lucky, or the quality is MUCH better. No residue in between the glass, the coin is facing as straight up as it can get and the paint job is excellent. Since it's hand painted it's not completely flawless, but you have to peer really closely at it in order to spot the flaws. Long story short, if this was the quality of all five coins, I would be very pleased.
