  1. Amazon killed it. That's what killed the holiday price surges as flood gates opened and prices rush to the bottom,

  2. You'll get your $229, $169, $109, $59, $19, GWP, and Reward option eventually -- given this is LEGO. They'll make everyone happy for a buck. As they should. They are a for-profit business and I personally forget this often.

  3. Agreed, but imagine if the new modular for 2024 has a full furnished basement it could look and be an amazing build for $350 but for those that just want to display it with the other modulars they would probably appreciate a $229 option. For those of us that just want to display Gringotts as part of Diagon alley they are “forcing” us to spend more on something we don’t need and probably will never use. I would have preferred a second smaller building but they can’t make everyone happy and appreciate the outside the box approach.

  4. I like where LEGO is going with these unusual designs. I think you said 'groundbreaking' before, and that's the best way to sum it up with Gringgotts and Batcave Shadow Box -- I want to see LEGO continuing to push the limit. Now groundbreaking doesn't necessarily mean good lol, but eventually something good will come out of these experiments. Can't help but think LEGO Masters has forced them to level up. I'm hoping they apply the experiment to the Animated Batman skyline set I've been hearing about.

  5. I would rather have a $250-300 Gringotts with dragon to display with Diagon as it is intended than this. Yes, it is an amazing design and build but what do you do with the bottom section unless you want to display it as an individual set. Just like this years Nijango city set it doesn’t look its best as a stand alone set. Interesting that he couldn’t get the “Surprise” function to work.

  6. This looks like they are just trying to capture the concept of the ride through/to the vaults with a few bits of the space in the movies? Otherwise the whole space feels very unfinished for what it really is. To me the pillars on the front don't seem movie accurate either where they've mixed up some of the directions they are leaning, but maybe this was restricted by the build. I want to love it, but honestly wish I could just get the top half (actual bank) at an MSRP of $199-$229.

  7. Back in 2021 I had 6 weeks off in between jobs and was on vacation for 4 of those weeks. Turns out those few weeks made me put on a few pounds and I decided to do something about it. Started looking for a quick and efficient workout and began jumping rope. Lost all the weight i put on and more until I was at my leanest on 20years. Then in apr last year I started indoor rowing, bought my own rower in may and never looked back. I will hit about 1850km in another two months and have built a rock solid habit/hobby investing time in my health. With a little discipline you can make big changes to your fitness even in your forties. It's never too late. Best part is I can eat a ton now and not put on weight, in fact i have to so that i get enough energy for the activities.

  8. Bumping this topic with a, well, year later update I suppose looking at that post date. Oi. Not too far afterwards from then (like a couple months later), I ended up dropping close to forty pounds altogether. And I was already close to being underweight as it was. Changing my diet helped the most for certain. I never was one to eat a lot of sugar or fast food growing up. However, I did end up having quick meals for work and often afterwards as well. A number of microwave meals that were not as healthy as claimed to be. Not to mention a sedentary lifestyle formed by working in front of a computer at work and home leading to low blood pressure. Anyway, I did much research on my own using signs of deficiencies to narrow it down to food sources good in folate acids (vitamin B9), for testosterone, and providing zinc. There is some crossover and other factors, but this "trifecta" helped keep things simple for me. Eating predominately a lot of freshly frozen fruits across the board has been significant to my well-being. Plus, as I mentioned in a different thread, I rediscovered my joy of cooking. A process benefiting my physical and mental health ....and emotional health if I am honest. So, between all that and cutting out fatty foods and also managing to quit the soda (my one last vice), here I am. Lost forty pounds then gained about ten back in muscle through strength training and fitness. I imagine some of that earned back weight is 'healthy fat' odd as that may sound. (I read having less than 10% or 5% body fat is possible but feels horrible with general fatigue, constant hunger & thirst, lack of motivation, etcetera.) Overall, my body feels better and leaner with room for improvement. Now I am not above ever having a soda or bacon cheeseburger again. I just will do so in moderation. I mean, I am a moderator after all. Haha.
