  1. Thanks that worked and points are immediately available. So it doesn’t work with the app they are trying to get you to use, Lego.

  2. I'm sure 50 of the same set might trigger a flag somewhere.

  3. So someone that parts out sets can just scan the QR codes on all the sets they buy and make a quick 1% return on their purchases for the year, thats pretty sweet. I bet a quick banhammer would come tho

  4. This was my content blocker. Disabled and it's working great now. Highly recommend deleting the Builder app and scanning with your phone camera to go straight to the redemption page.

  5. Well said. You may be done, along with the parents, but if you give a kid physical instructions and 3D instructions -- they will choose 3D 9 out of 10 times. My only concern is that all instructions should include a 3D example. The 2D digital instructions feel cheap, but the 3D feels super premium.

  6. Yes, the true 3D digital instructions on an iPad are far superior especially for Technic and applying stickers to speed champions sets because you can see the “future” build as a silhouette. Also, you can differentiate the colors better. Not sure if anyone will buy and build the $200 Chewbacca but those paper instructions will be a nightmare to differentiate the shades of brown and decreases the enjoyment of the build. The PDF instructions, some sets only have these available like Rivendell, are worse as they don’t have the red line used for piece placement. I know this pic is a simple example but further on in the build I had no clue where the pieces went and had to switch to the paper instructions. They are also pushing this “Build Together” aspect with the App that I do not use. Lego said the reason for changing the packaging for CMF was to use environmentally friendly recycled cardboard not to prevent smooshing.

  7. I have used digital instructions for many things built out of Lego. Including official instructions from Lego. And my statement stands. If they move exclusively to digital I'm done with the brand. I think a lot of parents will feel the same way. It's already an expensive super premium toy. It's going to feel really cheap and frustrating if you spend a lot of money on something and then have to download an app to build it. You never really fully own something if it's digital.

  8. If Lego ever goes exclusively to digital instructions I'll probably be done with the brand. They can talk about being environmentally conscious all they want, but I'm pretty sure digital instructions is nothing more than a lazy way to save money.

  9. Soo, I haven't seen anyone else mention this, please let me know if they have - But I stumbled into a WalMart today that had these "beauties" throughout the store: (Specifically, I am referring to the LCD tags, Kohl's/Macy's style - not the LED bars underneath. Including the Toy section. I chatted with one of the employees, and the prices and such will automatically update, so they no longer have to replace tags. Obviously, this will take some of the advantage away from us who know and share what the prices are ahead of time. No idea how it will handle Clearance items, or if they will still stick Clearance Yellow Tags on the shelf next to clearance items to draw attention to them, as they certainly aren't as "eye grabbing" as the yellow clearance tags among a sea of white. I assume they are simply experimenting with them, as it seems a rarity thus far. It seems like it has to be staggeringly expensive for the store to undertake. Had to have been tens of thousands of the little buggers all told. Also seems to be some work to relocate all of them when the POG gets reset and whatnot, as opposed to simply tearing out the old tags and putting in the new ones. But we will see. Any of you out there seeing these as well? Any thoughts/experiences with them?

  10. Not sure what is going on with the “upgrade” but as usual with electronic things Lego never gets it right. It looks like you will have to create an account in the Builder app and use that to scan the sets? This will create a collection but I do not see any points yet and not sure about past sets that you may have used the app to build. M&R in his video was questioning why Lego would do this as they never give away anything. I think this might be another step towards migrating to instruction free sets getting people to use the app instead.

  11. Aldi recently upgraded it's stores with these and it's really nice. I was actually in a store when they were doing it which was a pain, but it seems brilliant, prices just get updated centrally. Though plebes actually knowing how much stuff costs will indeed cut into some of my scores.

  12. There is another 18+ NASA Icons set coming out, hopefully not a remake of the remake. I was just thinking of this set this weekend while I was building the new Disney Castle as they use the exact same build to make the castle turrets as they used to make the Saturn V.
