  3. I use Dragonframe for the shooting. It lets me take pictures from multiple cameras at the same time, allows me to playback a sequence as I’m shooting it, and a bunch of other handy things during the shooting process. I use Premiere Pro for everything after the shooting. I import the image sequences, edit out mistakes, create transitions between different shots, add music, etc. It’s a pretty daunting program to learn, but I got an online course and taught myself to use it during a transatlantic cruise I did with my wife earlier this year.

  7. The best solution would be to drop the auctions and offer free shipping on BIN. If you're set on doing auctions then definitely charge shipping, but chances are your total price isn't going to be much better due to the fact that people actually have to be watching the auction to bid at the last second like they like to do. 10 watchers and 2 bids isn't going to do much for you.

  8. It seems like the gate was starting to soften just before COVID hit and then blew wide open. Most of those people who give the step-by-step guides tend to be somewhere between total newbies (e.g., the guys posting the “what I’ve learned from 2 months of LEGO investing” videos) to relative newcomers who have only been in the market for 2-4 years. They will all learn sooner or later that the market isn’t a “rising tide lifts all ships” situation. Now, more than ever, volume is one of the only ways to make anything more than hobby money selling LEGO.

  10. That music set to that crab being built was just great! Nice short video. I'm using Stop Motion Studio (paid version) on my phone and building set with my daughter. I also have it on my Windows laptop. For having some attention challenges I'm surprised my daughter was able to focus for a couple hours straight piece by piece taking pictures. Some people are surprised when they learn how painstaking the process is and controlling light/shadows consistently is hard (we mistakenly were on the kitchen table by the window as the sun was going down, we don't have a stop motion studio yet). What do you use for taking photos and editing?

  11. Visited a nice Toys R Us like store in Canton, OH yesterday. Lots of retired LEGO and all other major collectible brands with pricing between EBay and Amazon.
