The why is likely the same reason why other people do it, and why people are connecting with AI. It's simply easier and more appealing to connect with someone new than to work through the issues that caused you to get in this point in the first place. I went through a rough patch in my marriage and we distanced ourselves from each other. It took months for us to actually sit down and have the tough discussion that we needed to have, and to get down to the root of the issues. Ours had to do with the fact that in 5 years and 4 months we brought 4 little people into the world, and we were neglecting each other to take care of them. All that time wasted, and discussing divorce, because we couldn't just sit down and openly talk about things. It was definitely easier to pull away, but definitely better to reinvest in the marriage. I suppose the first step is to figure out what you want. Once you know that, you will know which direction to work in. You just can't half-ass it either way as each moment wasted is one you won't get back.5 points

It looks great connected to Gardens. Only 4 pieces less than Rivendell 6163/6167 and 6 more "proper" minifgures but $130 less.4 points

I agree that on its own it looks hollow because of the empty space dedicated to the cable car, but as pictured above I think that all balances out quite well once you connect it to the other sets. The empty space suddenly becomes much smaller of a % of the appearance and opens up some breathing room for what has been a series of really dense builds.2 points

It's all the empty space needed for the cable car to stand out. It makes it hollow for a gimmick, as there is also an elevator to get up a level. It also distracts the eyes from the really neat greebling used on the side of the bridge.2 points

Aside from being a sleek ship, what caught my attention was the new "classic" styled windscreen in trans-black.1 point

thanks for sharing. Glad you guys are communicating positively. It's weird YK? All the RomComs and even the fairy tales...the WHOLE story is about the romantic getting together... we are all conditioned to think that's the final goal..is the Alter. NOPE! That's just the beginning. Happily Ever After...is DAMN HARD and it's a LOT longer to sustain. I will disagree that the new someone or something is all bad. The AI GF app actually provides legit counseling that the user tends to be more receptive to than if it came from someone else. Same for me. I am definitely changed for the better in some aspects as the person I connected with was much more open about some topics than I was and I learned to be more open. The growth I experienced was enlightening and now I am able to add that to my relationship with my wife and even our family. At the end of it the biggest thing was getting my health back...I was having chest pains for some time and getting winded putting on my shoes every morning... but no matter what I tried I could not get going in terms of consistent exercise or diet improvements... nothing stuck...multiple starts and failures going on years. Looking back I could have lost my family but I could have also lost my life..I'm lucky I haven't lost either. Cheers!1 point

Finished 75355 last night. Didn't have either of the previous UCS X-Wings, so it's still a heck of a thing to see and build the scale. Most of it is really good. The entire S-foil setup isn't as rigid as I'd expect, but I have it displayed flying straight up anyway which negates any droop1 point

I've built City and Docks before, and for some reason, this just doesn't look as impressive as either of those, even with more pieces.1 point

They are pushing so many sets out and quality seems to have suffered. Hulk buster which has seen a fair share of negative reviews is going for 50% off in some Asian countries.1 point

Yep, disappointed that the cathedral wasn't selected. Parisian Street will probably be the only one I get for investment.1 point

I wanted the May 4th Death Star II promo. I planned on going in to my local LEGO Store to buy to get the promo, my daughter got sick on Monday, so I couldn't make it down. I go down Tuesday, and the main set I wanted to buy (Executor) is OOS. They tell me they'll get more on Thursday. I get down there Thursday, May 4th, and I do get the last SSD - But they are OUT of the Death Star. Lego.com also out of the SSD. So I buy it there and get the other promos, and have to go out of town for the weekend. As the promo is coming to a close, find out LEGO.com ALSO runs out of Death Stars... So, I Call several stores in a large metro area, all out of stock. Finally find a more rural store relatively on the way home from where I was - And they have like 40 of the damn Death Stars on hand, and... like NO Star Wars LEGO sets left. I grabbed a Land Speeder and was done with it. Way too much drama to get one damn promo.1 point

Perhaps the real conversation should be why you felt the need to form an emotional relationship with someone online instead of your wife of 20 years?1 point
