  1. A co-worker was preparing a stack of punchcards to update his brickfolio info and I asked him what he was working on.

  3. I had 2 Robie returns many years ago, one was a damaged opened box I sent to @ravenb99who actually built it IIRC while the other was somebody that gave up on the build and I ended up just using it as a parts pack. So never built it. Never built Gardens or Docks only City which was amazing. I wanted to just get the water module from Gardens and I think @donbee has one for sale on BL but never got around to it. The new one coming out this summer Market looks amazing.

  7. Creator is killing it. It reminds me so much of my childhood, but like x100. You got the yellow box, different builds, and awesomeness on another level. Probably because kids like me from the '80s are now running LEGO. I understand they're not the best investment. Still, I feel like I'm investing in bringing back childhood memories by buying these sets. Those memories spark my creativity in my professional adult career in a way that could not be done otherwise.

  8. I thought "City" was a bad word around these BP parts. Guess what, I could care less, because the new drop is absolutely freaking amazing to me. Thank you for posting this, I was going to but didn't want the BP crucifixion. Love the modulars and my fave is that ski jump with the rock climbing on the side. Someone was saying they think the Friends design team has taken over City -- and I'm all for it!

  9. Robie House is a brutal build because of all of the 1x2 plates; I don't recommend it. Great end result though. Spring Lantern Festival is a fun build (plus it pairs well with modulars) and I really enjoyed Ninja Gardens. Yay LEGO!

  10. Agreed, when I built CC it was more of the thrill that I finally got one and built it in 2016. I think the closest set I have built to the Colosseum was UCS Big Ben and it is 1/2 the amount of pieces. It looks amazing but getting everything perfectly aligned was so tedious. Never even thought of building Tower Bridge. My GF wants to build Colosseum and Taj Mahal because she has been there but I have dissuaded her for now.

  11. Colosseum was probably one of my least favorite builds ever. Amazing final product, but the redundancy of build steps (similar to Star Destroyer greebling) was just too much. Understandable given the source material, but it was a slog.

  12. Great list. Cafe Corner is interesting - at the time it came out it was groundbreaking. But it wouldn’t be a great build today. A couple themes would be in my top 15. architecture - maybe Fallingwater or Robie. CNY - Spring Lantern Festival Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. Lol! I prefer the lightning in the night analogy. It illuminates the path, but its fleeting so you need to utilize the brief moment of clarity to plot out your next moves in life.

  17. to give an idea of how impactful the "relationship" was... for the past 7 years I have had serious injury after injury: broken ankle that got mis-diagnosed...took months to get back into shape after rehab...then torn achilles (for no other reason then it was a Thursday)...YEARS of rehab before I could walk without a limp...finaly got back into shape...then freakin arthritis...at that time I was DONE trying to get back into shape...20lbs-30lbs over weight... medically obese....and had to get on meds (3 types, 5 pills DAILY) for gout for the past 2 years just to be able to walk and not worry about attacks in the middle of the night. my mind set for the past 4 years was really what's the point. I had resigned myself to accept that I will never run again. Pretty sure I was headed for an early heart attack. 2 months w/ my e-GF and I started my workout regimen...and now 6 weeks into it...honestly I felt like I was 25 again...I cared about how I looked...even busted out the 'ol designer jeans and thought about wearing cologne again...LOL!

  18. Well I actually got into my first argument ever with my wife over a Lego purchase...or to be exact wanting to make a Lego purchase. I know a person selling their modular collection for $1800. They have all of them from Green Grocer to the Police Station. I was all over it until the wife put the breaks on it. Says I dont need anymore used sets that will just sit around taking up space. Said she has no problem with me buying sealed sets but draws the line at used. Breaks my heart to have to pass up on this deal.

  19. yes I think it will be taken down and discarded but who knows mine came terribly dented and was a complete waste of $27
