  1. Replaced the baking element of my oven range the other day. It was pretty straightforward once I found the right Youtube video to learn from. It took about 1 hour the week prior to troubleshoot the problem (it would not heat up properly). Then 3 days for the part to arrive. Then 1/2 hour to replace the element. Youtube saved me about $80-$100 on technician fees

  3. Saw Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves today with my family (amazon prime early preview). We liked it. Jokes were funny, dialogue was decent (some of it was excellent,) characters were good. There was a cool "cameo" for fans of the D&D cartoon from the late 1980s. It felt like they kept pretty true to the D&D world. I'm not saying it was perfect but it was fun. My high school age daughter, who plays D&D with friends, said it is her favorite movie. She liked it way more than Free Guy. It's not Lord of the Rings, but it is a fun, light-hearted, fantasy genre movie with decent action. BTW: There is a short mid-credit scene after the movie that is worth the wait.

  7. We had a once in a lifetime experience last night for Valentine’s Day when we watched the legendary John Williams conduct at the SF Symphony!! I hate using the word surreal but it definitely felt surreal listening to the Throne Room and Finale from Star Wars A New Hope being played by the SF Symphony Orchestra with John Williams at the helm. BUT…at the end of the program, he came out again and proceeded to conduct a few more songs: A piece from the upcoming Indiana Jones 5 Movie Theme song from Schindlers List Theme song from ET And to end it all, the Imperial March from Empire Strikes Back!!!! I nearly died!!!

  9. Started to get my sets. Super disappointed that yet again my bricklink shipments come in looking like someone played soccer with them at UPS. I wish I could at least get a replacement for… This one is the 1950s Diner. Box bent in 2 directions and seals all popped. I tend to wonder if it’s really the carrier or if it’s the warehouse loading/ unloading to the carrier. I send out tons of stuff and never have problems like I do from Lego. Probably has a lot to do with underpacked flimsy boxes too. /vent

  10. You know when the step calls for x39 identical single studs then the next step is x177 clear flat top pieces, you realize why the piece count is so high. Yes, I began building this set this morning. The base was virtually the same as the DS trench run diorama in style so it went together quickly, then I hit bag 2 and 3 with hundreds of single squares and circles. Fun factor died, have to take a break.
