It depends on the timing of cancellation. If the small item ships before the big phantom item is cancelled, you don't pay shipping. If it cancels before, the total drops below the free shipping threshold and you pay $5. Problem is, item is in warehouse, so there is nothing they can do. I've gotten $5 worth of vip points but I don't want to do that too often.2 points

Thank you for the suggestions. I wound up turning a 24x19x16 box from Walmart into a 25x20x9 via cardboard origami. (So $2.10 for the box, elbow grease, and two bad knees..... I wouldn't want to do this again though!) PS: A Orthanc Tower with air pillows on the top and bottom of set. 9lbs.

I opened a case for a lego set that required bubblewrapping and just took a photo of the lego box with upc and told amazon that the item is already in a box, it's not fragile and to stop wasting resources and killing our planet. I got a response that it was a mistake and they removed that requirement.1 point
