Maybe a lost FBA set that amazon helped themselves to?

Well, the 10229 Winter Village Cottage that I ordered last week when it randomly popped up in the daily deals thread for RRP arrived last night. I expected it was going to be a mislabeled Santas Visit, but to my great surprise it was indeed a sealed 10229! Sold and shipped by Amazon. Box is a bit dinged up and it has a price tag from another retailer on it, so I'm very curious of the story behind it.

I'm under the impression, Amazon wants to grant people who's livelihood is at stake to feel more comfortable selling. Imagine you're supporting family on your 3rd party business and get shut down due to fraudulent ip claims from a competitor. It would be devistating and may limit someone from using FBA to it's fullest. The health number is definely a cost cutting measure to target sellers who are more likely full time and committed to selling. That being said, you need 450 orders a month or something like 15 orders a day. You could buy some tiny Lego sets at 6-8$ and achieve this for 20-24k.

With the amount of emails and phone calls asking me to join Amazon Customer Support for FBM, I tend to think Amazon want me to stay FBM... Either that or they watched my video with the rental Lambo....

I do think that it is important to note that this is not so much of a "let's screw the little guy" as it is "let's give greater certainty to the big guys." Whenever I've had the opportunity to provide feedback directly to Amazon, I have consistently stressed the fact that the uncertainty created by the way they do certain things increase the risk of becoming too reliant on their platform. I'm sure they've gotten similar feedback from countless sellers and this is one way that they've tried to address it. The thing that gives me some level of comfort with this is that they seem to have realized that there are limits on the extent to which they can rely on automation and there is a need at some level to have someone with an actual brain consider certain situations.

A new seller support low: I have a unit that has been stuck in FBA as Warehouse Damaged for over 6 months, and they haven't reimbursed me. I asked for the reimbursement, and after about 10 messages they flipped it to Defective disposition and told me to remove it. Wtf.
