There hasn't been many sets that I just couldn't wait to build. This one got the best of me and I spent the money and worked on it with my son. He's still a bit young so he lost interest part way in until it was finished. The set is fantastic, the build is awesome, the final model is outstanding. Can't sing enough praises for this set. The kids enjoyed playing with it for a bit, moving the head and shooting the fireball at each other.8 points

These are great but For $10 more in store Costco carries a similar Whalen shelf with closed rivet holes, plastic casters on top and bottom and smooth melamine shelves. Same dimensions and a little upgrade, I returned a few of these and went for Whalen - they are all very heavy though! https://www.costcobusinessdelivery.com/Whalen-5-Shelf-Heavy-Duty-Steel-Shelving-Unit%2c-48W-x-24D-x-72H%2c-Black.product.100193696.html2 points

In my journey I used storage spaces for a while. I was renting a condo, running my Amazon business. I quickly ran out of space and some days would receive enough boxes to fill my car port. I'd have to haul them up to my apartment and generally fill my entire living area or I'd break them down outside (getting questionable looks from the neighbors). When I got my storage area I'd haul the boxes out there in my truck and I'd be able to quietly box stuff. The struggles of having a storage unit is you can't move boxes around and ferrying stuff out there sucks. Id invest in a good platform cart to move stuff. I finally made the move to a warehouse when I found a 1000 sq ft unit for 500$ a month. Moving from a storage unit to that was honestly the best decision of my life. Its really underrated having a lot of space to work. The area I'm in offers shipping container storage 8x40 for 150$ a month which is honestly cheaper than most warehouses considering you can store 320 large boxes in it. Anything going in, must be ready to go out.2 points

I worked my favorite 5-9 shift as a poll worker. My county recently upgraded the voter checkin process to use 'PollPads' which uses an iPad and reciept printer and everything went smoothly. Here you can vote using a touchscreen or a paper ballot and if there is no line for them, I prefer people to use the touchscreens because they print out a marked ballot for you when you're done and then you put that into the ballot scanner - still a paper ballot, but you haven't overvoted or undervoted without the screen telling you ahead of time. I do love when folks are like, gimmme that paper, I don't trust machines - like yo, you're gonna put this IN a machine. Or I want a paper traiL! That thing just prints a filled ballot for you! (I actually used a paper ballot because the line for the touchscreens was long at my precinct, but I know what I'm doing and don't spoil the ballot) Had about a 20% rate of spoiled paper ballots that had to be revoted. Anyways, rant over.1 point

I went into it blind having only seen the photos. But the kiddo loves Bowser so that influenced me a bit more. I grabbed it from Kohl's one of the times it was in stock. $50 in KC I could pick a better "GWP". 🙃1 point

I watched 2 reviews both saying this will most likely be the best set of the year. I have no interest in Mario but after watching it looks amazing what they did with the build to make it like a puppet. I wish they used the same new build style on the new Hulkbuster. Still think it is overpriced but will get 1 to build when the $250 GWP hits later this month.1 point

good stereo and a never busy starbucks on the way. i had non-temp controlled storage- i live in rural northeast where it gets sub zero in winter and then in the 90s-100s in the summer. i did one year of nontemp controlled storage in typical metal building garage door in place with not much security and tough to get into in the winter with snow and ice and also a pita if someone else was using nearby storage unit. the icing on the cake was when some hording homeless dude started living in one of the units 8 down from mine and spent their days and most of their nights sifting through endless boxes of detritus with one of the saddest looking dogs i have ever seen on a leash. but was half the cost. i did not notice any significant box damage from temp changes but there were other factors i didn't like about the storage space having to do with security , poor access, negative vibe in general. the nice part about the more expensive unit was more like a miniwarehouse and much better access in terms of being able to pull up a transit van and load it onto multiple large dolley-cart without having to deal with other people or parking. i am pretty sure i could have negotiated a much better rate at this point given how many units are empty but i just want to minimize expenses going forward.1 point

Everyone has different circumstances and its definitely a personal preference. I have a storage unit. My house was built in the 1950s and the combined closet space is less than the master closet at my parents house. We have a low pitch roof and hardly any attic space. We don't have a garage. The first storage unit I moved stuff into had about 50 units broken into the morning of my move in, so I didn't stay for long. The one I am in now was brand new when I moved in and a bargain price, but now my rates have doubled in the two years since then. So, does it make financial sense? On the one hand, it cuts into my profits significantly. It is also a hassle to get everything in and out of storage, but I have worked out a pretty time efficient system that works for me. That said, if I did't have a storage unit, I just couldn't resell anymore. I have no other place to put inventory. I enjoy this side hustle and still make enough money that its worth it to me. It is not anywhere close to ideal and I can't wait until we either add on or move to a larger house, but if you need storage, you need storage. As for safety, I would just do everything to avoid drawing attention to yourself. For me, everything goes in and out in a moving box. Don't set up anything so that someone can see that its LEGO in there if they walk by while your door is open. My goal is to spend as little time there as possible. And yes, get insurance from an outside source.1 point

Decided to stop pretending my garage was adequate for my storage needs and circled town checking out the storage places. 2 local ones helpfully admitted they had (multiple!) robberies this year so they were out. Found somewhere about 20 minutes away with a 10 x 10 unit for $125 a month. I figure I can fit about 150 Home depot 21 x 15 x 16 boxes there stacked 4 high. Penske 16 foot truck rental is 15 an hour plus $1 a mile and storage unit gives me a $50 credit so the move is basically free, not too bad. It looks like UPS will not pick up from the site directly though which adds to the hassle. I also need to figure out the sets most likely to be in stock in amazon longer to send there as I wont have easy access. I'm thinking Hagrid Huts and Mando Starfighter, Trouble on Tattoine Anyone here use storage units, is there anything to be aware of? I'm thinking maybe sticking an airtag in one of the boxes might be a wise precaution.1 point

Soooo... Looks like most of the interesting sets are not included. Plus Im still sore from the price rises - and to cynical me all these offers do is feel lego are just temporarily reversing these rises and expecting me to be grateful for it.1 point

Judging by my most recent orders It appears LEGO SaH Is no longer including a paper invoice with shipments. Certainly a move towards less waste and overhead. Not a huge problem but I did keep them filed in a cabinet for reference which I can no longer do obviously and I also used those white stickers for many various things over the years. O Well. I still have a sizable stack of those.1 point

It's near the front of the backlog...behind just the Venator, and the DropShip/AT-OT. Yeah the MILF basically put us back 2+ years. Doesn't stop me from picturing the Imperial Shuttle at various display options around teh house tho...been doing that for years since getting it.1 point

I submitted that question but to this point it hasn't been answered. This whole situation just feels like a giant money making scheme to me. Here's how I picture this all got started .... (my opinion only) Vorys hires a smart guy to track a specific reseller online to help win "a" case. Light bulb goes off and they develop a software that can track a multitude of products and resellers for future cases. Being the leaches they are, sit around a table and say "Time to cash in and bro down!". They put together a PowerPoint with loose case law and a broad list of accusations that could apply to many different brands and head on down to the local trade show. Meanwhile, one of the attorneys developing said master plan calls his buddy from law school over at AmazonSellersLawyers.com (more on this later) and tells him to add content to their website claiming to combat the Vorys letters. Saying something to the effect of "This is going to be big! Don't miss out!" and jokingly asks for a referral fee. Walking around the the trade show is a poor innocent Lego representative minding his own business when all of a sudden a Vorys monkey pops out and does his sales dance. Beating him down with fancy charts and lawyer speak ... using words like streamlined, cost effective and produces made up RESULTS! until he finally agrees to "talk to his manager". The Lego manager decides to employee this strategy, not because they want to sue a bunch of unauthorized resellers, its because they want to be able to tell their pissed off and winey authorized resellers they are doing something to help them compete. (exit opinion) As for AmazonSellersLawyers.com, I took advantage of their free consultation and man was I impressed! I never actually got to talk to one of their attorneys but their sales team had all the right answers ... and for a flat fee of $3500! How could I pass this up!? In all seriousness though, they did nothing wrong, it was just my gut telling me something wasn't right after they called me 3 straight days seemingly begging for my retainer. I had to tell them I retained someone else to get her to stop calling. She also made it seem like they were very friendly with the Vorys which turned me off ... I wanted a shark, not a minnow. Regardless of my opinion it's pretty easy to see who's the main beneficiary from sending hundreds of C&D letters ... Vorys. I'm sure their eControl is working quite well ... resellers with very little stake are dropping out with nothing more than a whine and the outright thieves run and hide. These numbers are then presented as proof to whatever story needs to be told. The fact that Lego hasn't sued anyone selling legitimate Lego product tells me dragging a bunch of people to court is not their intent and why we're choosing to hold our ground. When I was a kid Lego was a "Toy" but now as an adult its a "Collectible". You can't have collectibles without a secondary market and with that comes the reseller. Lego should be embracing us and the value we add to their brand name. Lego customers will continue to pay inflated prices as long as the perceived value continues to go up. You're welcome. We got the Vorys letter in back in January and immediately hired an IP attorney. Our letter called out our presence on Amazon, eBay and Walmart but of course not on Bricklink. We use a different store name on Amazon because we sell more than Lego but it was probably our business address that linked them together. After my attorney spent a couple weeks getting the lay of the land understanding our position in the market, where we source our products, our quality control measures and near flawless customer service for 15 years, he recommended we respond with an 8 page "Thanks but no thanks" which was sent about 2 weeks ago. At first I was nervous about responding in fear of putting a target on my back (knowing so many others are tossing the letter in the trash) but too much of my life has been dedicated to Lego for me to sit on my hands. Most of us reading this thread can legitimately say we are more knowledgeable about Lego products than most (if not all) of Lego's authorized resellers in the US. I can also tell you with 100% confidence that by "us" reselling genuine Lego products and providing a 2nd life only adds to the perceived value of the Lego brand. If Lego sliced the necks of ALL legitimate Lego resellers then Lego would quickly become nothing more than Mega Bloks with a shinier brick. The perceived value of Lego would erode very quickly ...the parents who now justify buying a $350 Gunship by saying "I can probably sell this eBay in 2 years and get my money back" would no longer have this option and thus make better buying decisions. This would also produce many more "pop-up shops" with a higher number of scammers and the market will have a tougher time determining the good sellers from the bad. We are one of the good guys and treat Lego like part of the family so for us to be called out in this dragnet is very disappointing. We intend on fighting this until we run out of resources.1 point

Thank you for finding my old list! Interesting to see how things changed over time, even though there are a lot of sets which remained in my top 10 list actually. Also, The Green Grocer was really the big kick off of the Modular Buildings for a lot of people. The first 2 had quite a lot of detail, but the Grocer added such a new dynamic to the theme, I feel that is where it began to really kick off.1 point

Of all the early Modular Building sets that are now expensive on the secondary market, Green Grocer is by far the coolest. I don't have it, so maybe that adds to the appeal for me. And it hardly has any interior at all! But it has a quaint charm to its overall design and I love the green color.1 point

So yesterday one of the hose lines under the sink burst. I was luckily home at the time but the best part is that the shutoff valves don't work at all. So had to kill the water main and no water at all in the house since 5 Pm. Landlady says a plumber should be on their way this morning to fix this. Well, at least Notre Dame beat Clemson.
