  5. She's a trooper and likes to keep busy. She still push mows parts of her yard and maintains a huge garden. She goes to exercise 3 days a week, volunteers at the hospital, and is in several community organizations. I have to make appointments to see her. She really stepped it up several notches after my Dad passed away.

  7. The 3 boxes I ordered from Target had the .203 code on bottom of all 3 boxes and all 3 contained 6 different figures in each box (but each box assortment was identical: Animal, Piggy, Kermit, Bunson, Rowlf, Fozzie)

  8. Nice move man! Sounds like you got a little $500 bill waiting for ya.

  9. Agreed. I moved mine all in 2019 at $250 for lots of 4 and individuals from between $60.99 and $105.99, and rolled it into new sets. If I haven't tripled that money by now I did something wrong.

  10. I did not realize that 25% of the parts go towards the “useless and repetitive” track build. Since it can’t be motorized and doesn’t fit on lego train tracks they could have eliminated the display track and lowered the price or added another passenger car or made a more robust platform.

  11. this ones a gem. great line at the end. "Looks spectacular, but i feel they have ignored a large portion of train enthusiasts but not designing it with the intent for motorised play or integration with their rail tracks. Just to reiterate - this does not work on standard rails, its for display not play. Also the price along with the recent "price adjustment" store wide is a little steep. Good bye 90 years of play and hello to the next 90 years of pay."

  12. This is not just LEGO. Most retailers inventories are overflowing after an overreaction to supply chain shortages. Now, with a recession looming, people are spending less. This is a perfect storm for deflation. There will be massive sales on almost all consumer goods this year. Black Friday will be something to remember. There will be blowout prices. Retailers urgently need to unload inventories to cut down on massive warehousing costs. Once the overproduced stock has been depleted the retailers will slow down orders of new goods from China, thus beginning a major slow down in world manufacturing. At this point the real recession begins.

  13. Hot chance we see this on a significant sale this November in my opinion. I'm guessing $350 or potentially even less considering how poorly it will likely move. Similar to how the Disney train went on a very early sale. I think there is an argument that there could be a bit of a bubble forming. Since the creation of this site, we haven't really experienced a fundamental recession, as 2020 actually ended up benefiting Lego sales significantly. So it will be telling as to how things play out as Lego appears to be getting into the gouging business too. As resellers we are all seen as scum of the earth, so my question is how will the community view Lego doing something quite similar?

  14. Yeah, but there is the chance that they start to disappear into obscurity and few people are interested. I sold all of my sets a while ago and I'm happy with the $200+ I was getting per set.

  15. Still have one set left after this one and a couple of singles. I'm glad I didn't list them a year or so ago when they were going for about $200 for the set.

  16. I feel you with this. Wife tested positive last Thursday. Knowing I won’t quarantine her off I went and bought a solid supply of groceries. I tested positive on Sunday afternoon. I was literally hitting range balls that morning feeling great, and I wouldn’t have believed it if you told me within 12 hours my fever would be 102 and me down for the count. I’m improving now, but only slowly getting my strength back. It sucks! Get better!

  17. LEGO has over-reached. Like a lot of companies lately following their Covid boom. How they respond...will it be a correction or an over-correction?

  18. I think there is a much bigger theme to this. I actually like both these sets. I wish the train would have been made power and track compatible. yea lego's price increase effect things and yea some people don't like the design. But more importantly when you have rampant inflation and serious energy issues going on something has to give I think you will see this effect rolling across many more sets and its not just lego. I think $400 + lego sets are not on the menu for most people right now.

  19. Set up an Auspost business account - it's free. Then download the app. Read the Auspost business webpages, there are discounts (called bands) which are based on how much parcel postage you buy over a rolling 8 week average. Can I print my own shipping labels? If so, is it cheaper, more expensive or the same? Yes - if you buy postage at the post office you'll need to show your code on the Auspost app to get the discount. Is using Aus Post boxes ever a cheaper way of doing it? There’s a couple of sets that will fit nicely in the medium box, but box plus shipping appears to be in the $15 range. I buy my auspost boxes off facebook marketplace from people bailing out of their "side hustle". The benefit of the boxes are the flat postage rate for up to 5kg based on the box size designation. and you get discounted postage. If I sell on eBay, is purchasing shipping through them cheaper than going through Aus Post? if you use the ebay shipping label - ebay gets the auspost discount.... Is there a carrier that beats Aus Post? Like, maybe in certain situations? You can try Sendle.... I use Auspost because we all know it can be shite and customers are generally forgiving of auspost delivery delays Is there a good supplier of boxes for shipping that I should know of? Newpack is quite good always compare their eBay store with the website as the prices can vary. And FBM searching for Australia Post, mailing box, postage post. As a meaningless flex - last week I picked up 40 Auspost large boxes RRP ~$80 for $30.
