  1. I think there is a much bigger theme to this. I actually like both these sets. I wish the train would have been made power and track compatible. yea lego's price increase effect things and yea some people don't like the design. But more importantly when you have rampant inflation and serious energy issues going on something has to give I think you will see this effect rolling across many more sets and its not just lego. I think $400 + lego sets are not on the menu for most people right now.

  2. Saw what was probably a scam seller last week on eBay. Feedback was fine, and had sold Lego, but got bad vibes from the prices. A week later I went to check the saved listing and saw feedback got crushed. Seller: happymiddlefun

  4. you mean a price increase before retirement of course. The whole entire Lego investing business enterprise is based upon future customers accepting our sometimes ridiculous price increases once a set is eol.

  5. I have done business with this buyer when they were willing to place the order through BL. Since that point they want to look through my BL inventory and place orders via email. Not that I think that BL would find out, but I refused and quoted terms and conditions of BL and my desire not to find another marketplace to sell the 100,000+ parts I have on the site.

  8. Looks like a hacked old account. All of that for less than $2000 profit (assuming they got away with it)

  9. As a huge Lego train fan I will say I am super disappointed and not interested in this set at all. For perspective I have every train set from the 10020 Santa Fe era to present, multiples of some, even built two custom 10133 with the yellow and orange swapped(took years of sourcing parts) and many train based city sets including the shed 10027 etc, and yes I know these numbers from memory. So ya I’ve spent some money on trains. I believe most train fans like that they can all be displayed or run together and fit in with standard city sized sets and modular buildings to build large displays and functioning railroads. This set offers little to train fans like myself so unless HP fans are just itching for a huge out of proportion to all other HP sets, train to display it will flop at its price point. It won’t fit in with any other HP village or Hogwarts sets at its scale and the price seems really high, and only 1 carriage whats that. And that steam engine-wheel integration of a couple technic pieces looks like a pathetic afterthought. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. I ordered a Blacksmith from Target when it was in stock as they still have the old price. Received someone else’s open, destroyed, pulled minifigs previous returned set. Looks like they reused the same shipping box and all.

  12. Well I REALLY got burned this time by vipoutlet and some a-hole scammer! Late last year I purchased the Lego Creator Haunted House NEW condition on sale for $203 for personal build. Stupid me didn't open it immediately to check the contents and I'm finally getting around to building it now for Halloween. My heart just sunk as I dumped the bags out of the box to find BRIGHT colored bricks in non-numbered bags. Even the inner box was nicely sealed with more bright colored bricks... obviously not Haunted House! Any money I thought I was saving by shopping with them was just pissed down the drain on this one set.
