Had to bump sales some how in the dog days of summer.
Looking at aftermarket prices for Forestmen/Black Falcons/Lion Knights, Lego saw the demand and bumped their $ale$.
I was equally bummed, as they go nicely together like spaghetti and meatball. And no gwp for a 90th year anniversary tribute, $400 release is total weak sauce.🤡
Can't justify the $400 spend with no promos going, gonna wait until there are some GWP or 2x VIP. Was able to grab another forestmen yesterday at my local store when.
Drove home from Michigan today, took a nap and then opened up Facebook Marketplace and saw this listing for $20:
Now, if you look beyond the dust and the plane, there is a wall so I instantly offered to buy it, dust and all! Then while waiting for a response I confirmed what I suspected on Bricklink. That is Green Grocer for $20.
Agree use it when you can. Just not revolutionary to me at least. The most you can get back in a month is about $7.70 per month in lego cash back for every $1,000 you spend and it may exclude all licensed sets. Free is free though.
Ran across this while scrolling through SD. Apparently, Selfridges is a department store in UK. I've never been to this site before so I'm not sure if these are temporary prices or if they always have sets below retail. Shipping will be the biggest factor to consider as it appears to be $30 to US. Alternatively, it appears you can sign up for a 12 month membership at $55 which should cover unlimited deliveries during that time frame?
Check it out:

Oh, that would be salt in the wounds. I bought it last night at 12 to build. I had called the store just before close and they confirmed they had no GWP left, so I am glad it saved me the trip. After getting nothing with the Titanic for $629 I have just come to expect this from Lego not throwing a bone to their ICONS (AFOL) audience knowing they will buy it anyway.
Very strange. I'm now thinking the GWP will make a comeback on the official release date, not the VIP Access date. Otherwise, I'm baffled.
Still crossing my fingers that we'll get a castle-esque loyalty reward drop this week or next..
I'm looking forward to this set. I'll cash in some vip points to ease the cost and pick one up Tonight. unsure if there will be GWP but I have a few Forest hideouts already. I'm not convinced this will sell out extra fast.
looks like in England and Germany 3 hours past midnight and the castle is still in stock
as a matter of factor almost everything new is in stock in the USA except the lego store and disney mansion
makes me think inflation is starting to hit on lego
But what ppl may be missing is also a change in B2B prices.
LEGO increase their prices to counter inflation, so they must also increase prices they offer to retailers, otherwise there's little sense.
Amazon and others may provide higher discounts on a stock they bought previously at lower prices, but I am 100% certain price increase will follow with future stock deliveries.
Lego online raised the price $50 on this plus another UCS - the Falcon. I knew I should have bought it a few weeks ago when we had the double VIP offer.
I thought I saw someone say licensed sets do not qualify but I am not sure. Also you get 1 pt instead of 6.5 per dollar. so you get 15% of the vip points if you buy direct. since you get 5% cash back basically at lego on vip points 650 points per $100 spent that equates to you getting 7/10'ths of 1% vip points back at target. it ends at the end of January I think currently to though could be extended. Basically if your getting 5% off buying from target with a target red card, plus gift cards or whatever else you can do, you will get $5 in vip points for every $650 you spend on lego that qualifies vs $5 in vip points for every $!00 you spend when buying from lego. also you stop accumulating at 1000 vip points per month from your target purchases. I don't think I would make a buying decision based off of this but if your going to buy at target any ways then certainly use it.
