Drove home from Michigan today, took a nap and then opened up Facebook Marketplace and saw this listing for $20:
Now, if you look beyond the dust and the plane, there is a wall so I instantly offered to buy it, dust and all! Then while waiting for a response I confirmed what I suspected on Bricklink. That is Green Grocer for $20.
I see Amazon has put up the new prices ahead of schedule but making up for it by showing the sets on sale at their old prices.
Looking at the sets, not much in the way of surprises except that many sets are not marked up that were rumored to be — some notable creator experts sets where other that were rumored are marked up.
One I didn’t see rumored, but apparently is going up is Grand Piano. Now $400.
Anything and everything else in the Atari library were better conceived than the E.T. game. I apologize for that maligned comparison. Personal experience with Adventure was virtually null outside a barely functioning cartridge at "some guy my dad knew from work probably" house, and online reviews range from five-star nostalgic praise to "it cured my cancer" memes. I did find reading into the development process intriguing including a Game Developers Community panel years ago.
In short, the gameplay may not have enraptured me back in the day whereas the technical groundwork caught my interest in later years. Still, this is a gauntlet I never meant to throw down in the first place. And I was not looking to re-enact a certain Monty Python bit. Ha.

Looks like adult oriented sets are going to be hit the hardest. If a set is hit by a price increase, you can be fairly sure it's not going to retire. More than half of the sets not set to have price increases, are retiring at the end of the year.
Like every other company, they got used to those "record profits" year after year, and don't want to give ground due to rising costs on their end.
Starts Aug 1

Picture quality isn't great - I was mostly worried about how to get the Boat home without damaging it yesterday, but I built the Great Fishing Boat at the beach last week.
I really enjoyed building this set. The curved hulls are a bit fragile and I had a few frustrating moments of having to go back and rebuild sections after knocking something off, but otherwise it was a great build and the final product is fantastic. Its sitting next to the Old Fishing Store on a shelf right now, but hoping to build an actual display / MOC. If anyone has seen a good one online, let me know.
Built several since my last post. The GB firehouse, Green Grocer, and Assembly Square. Still have a few left, going to take a break from building and start to work on the layout.
I think it means they want to monitor spending caps at more retailers than just their brick and mortar locations. I think they believe you will give over your buying habits at Target for 1 vip point per $1 spent.
