Finished off the new wave of Speed Champions. My favorites are the Lotus Evijah and the Mercedes Project One but neither surpasses the Lambo Huracan. The Valkyrie is neat but by far the most Technic in a SC set.

That was my favorite piece as a kid. Something about the sharp angles gave a nice touch of 'futurism' to any silly build I slapped them on to. The rounded canopy styles we have now are nice but the straight edged windscreen like that from the times of early PlayStation polygons is my jam. I played quite a bit of Descent on a friend's computer so there's that too.

3/4 of the new Lego listings in my area (FB/Craigslist) are stolen. Doesn't mean it's the same situation as yours. The returns/overstock sales are easier to pick up as the box is most likely beaten up a bit more than usual shelf wear. It seems like if the listing involves a picture of the set taken from inside a car, it's 100% stolen.😃

Builds are pretty good, the spaceship is the highlight. Just a great Battlestar viper design. I am most excited about that new trans-yellow windscreen! Brain is already working overtime on classic space builds for it. Very similar to the 2507 windscreen, which always made me sad because we never got that piece in Trans-Yellow.

Same here. All the great deals are the same sets on the shelves at Target & WM. I doubt an AT-AT is stolen. Maybe some other scam. Or maybe it's legit who knows.

This has been being discussed in the Daily Deals thread, not sure who started it there All of the various online stories including my post are using Brick Clicker as the source and he has been highly reliable in the past. In a now deleted social media post LEGO official posted a picture with the 2 versions and titled it something like “can you spot all the differences”. Perhaps it will pan out to be an April Fools joke, they do one every year, to coincide with low inventory on this set we will see on Friday. The pics of the new version are up on LEGO website. As someone pointed out in the DD thread the revised set will need a new box not just new sticker sheets so it may be 2 months before we see more of these. Not sure how long the license is for this set but if it was already going to be a short run both could have long-term value above what they normally would, but if the set is out for any length of time then the version 1 would be the one to have IMO. As soon as I found out, prior to posting, I checked BL and the only deals on sets were from a seller in Poland they had 12 at $10 below MSRP but shipping would kill it. I did grab 10 sets of the Perrelli stickers for just under $6 each shipped, figured I could resell those for $25. And will see if Zavi actually ships theirs on 4/11.

$700 seems to be the going rate on eBay but $500 sounds too good to be true. Even if it is a lego store employee that purchased an open box return at a 30% discount they would still be loosing money by reselling it. This set has not been offered at a deep discount of 50% off anywhere that I know of, but some people have their ways, but most likely stollen goods or CC.

I see a lot of deals like that where people are selling online returns they were able to buy cheap.

42141 Mclaren Formula 1 - Brick fanatics think the back order and set out of stock is due to the Lego REDESIGN LEGO Technic 42141 McLaren Formula 1 Race Car redesigned (brickfanatics.com) (because of licensing issues with the sponsors, though that is not officially confirmed at this time.) Any thoughts on how this will effect the value of both sets?

It's possible that the sellers are Lego employees, who can buy these sets at deep discounts at selected times during the year.

First thing I saw was the Minifig torso and leg printing, wish we could get that in sets like the MBS Cantina that costs $350 and UCS sets.

Yes...Great observation on both accounts. I tried to add more prizes because of the required change from raffle to sweepstakes. In years past, I could load up on a particular prize and charge more tickets for that one prize, but with the sweepstakes is more random. I tried to keep each prize around a $500.00 value, give or take. And like I said, I will work with winners to get them the prizes they want, even going as far as offering current LEGO sets that I can order off of Amazon, Target or LEGO.com. I will probably add another prize or two at least to increase everyone's chances.
