Finished the PR last night. Extended the patio out 4 studs & took the awning out to the street. One of the best modulars. Will start to get the town laid out once I finished a couple more. Still have GG, DO, GBFH, AS, CG, bookshop & the new hotel to go. Horizon Forbidden West has slowed things a bit.11 points

Just got back from our 15-yr anniversary vacation that was supposed to happen in 2020 but got delayed a few times due to the 'vid. We went on a 14-night Disney Panama Canal cruise which departed from New Orleans. We spent five days in New Orleans beforehand to attend Mardi Gras and had a blast. We took the kids to Bourbon Street and it was an eye-opening experience for them. LOL. It was our first time at Mardi Gras, and all the good and bad stuff that you hear about Bourbon Street are true! Outside of Bourbon Street, the French Quarter is a beautiful place to visit. We'll have to go back and check out the Garden District and other places next time. We ate at Top Chef Isaac Toups' Meatery and other great restaurants out there. The cruise was amazing. The Panama Canal is an engineering marvel. We also had stops at Cozumel, Cartagena, Puerto Vallarta, and Cabo. The Grand Cayman port visit was unfortunately cancelled due to their tight COVID restrictions. There was one thing I saw while we were in Gatun Lake in the Panama Canal that made me think of you guys. I saw a Maersk container ship that reminded me of set 10241. Excuse the bed head as it was around 8am when we got through the first locks and into Gatun Lake.3 points

Zavvi had it on sale multiple times. My buy price was $128 I believe. Not stellar, but not bad either. Also, not being deeply discounted means pretty much everyone is operating from a similar buy price so that should keep prices up regardless.2 points

From my few Bourbon Street experiences, unfortunately, there is more to those odors than just trash.👃 I was there for a brother's bachelor party during mardi gra 2011. We stayed at the condo atop the Jaxon brewery across from Jackson square. That place was 5 star accommodations! Hot Tub, rooftop pool, panoramic views of the M.River, it was beautiful! Meals at Coop's place and late night trips to Cafe du Monde were incredible. We recently got word the condo is no longer there. One of the past few storms wiped the entire condo off the Jaxon Brewery rooftop🤯 Thats too bad, sounds like it was a great idea.2 points

I don't think that is cheaper for someone in the US. Even the cheapest EUR116.10 is $128, and then there is shipping which for a large set like this is likely going to cost $30-$40 for an international package.2 points

There are a number of sets on Vitacost that have 16-25% Honey CB and also have an extra B1G1 20% off. With the right combination, you can get 30-35% off a few sets if in the market for them. YMMV2 points

I'm guessing the polybag with Easter Bunny is IN STORE only but I'm often wrong 🤷♂️2 points

Thanks, I grabbed 2 of the McLaren with the $30 off. Word on the street is the set got pulled due to licensing issues. Lego is going to have to open every sealed set remove the sticker sheets and replace them with new ones that they will have to make, and then reseal them or just trash them. Price will continue to go up due to scarcity during F1 season and the original may become the collectors edition not only because it will be rarer but the recall involves the wheels.1 point

There will "always" be people who complain about any deal regardless of what you do. It will be unfair, inconvenient, too expensive, too exclusive, too whatever to some people. Give me a plain English offer and I can choose to participate or not. I have no interest in raffles and looking for special deals and buys with VIP points. Spend X and get Y, Double VIP -- simple enough, ok I'm in. But that's just me . . .1 point

Lol, Covid made everything look good! 😜 But yeah, boats like this normally do very well. I'm just not a big fan of buying at RRP. I bought some when I knew they were done on impulses but probably wouldn't have otherwise.1 point

I'm also seeing $10 off every $100 spent up to $300 added automatically in cart in addition to the promo code you use for the set. Not sure if this is a YMMV because I don't see it advertised in the email I received.1 point

well during CV scarcity this set was going for close to $300 so there's the precedent already...that's what put it on my radar. Watching Jang's review sold me...has a ton of wow factor1 point

Thanks! I always appreciate good advice! I have learned to keep some VIP points in reserve for such opportunities.1 point

I agree this one is a winner. It's the largest City ship...yet (Altho giant hole in the middle and uses two ship hulls so kinda cheating) That aspect alone will keep it atop kids wish list. Well reviewed by Jang1 point

My friend, I would hate for you to be really, really wrong. Sounds like you're sitting on 26k in points. It's not worth trading them for $200 in credits. It's been a while since we've seen a big Loyalty Reward drop such as the Batpod (15k points, sold for $3k originally on eBay, now $1,500). Even some of the lesser rewards such as the LEGO x Adidas shoes (13k points), Pooh print collection (4k points), and the coin collection (7k points) will fetch at least $200+. I'm getting the feeling we're going to see something big in May that will cost 15k in points. At minimum, keep 15k in your piggy bank. HOLD!1 point

I only FBA. Large sets get packed inside a LEGO brown cardboard box with a larger white label on the tape seam that states “Do not open. Sell as a set” I’ve only gotten a couple returns of these sets and both times the set came back in that same box, minty fresh.1 point

also speed champs was a theme that was exclusive to TRU for the first 2 waves in 2015 and 2016 which also made them much harder to find and load up on helping boost the early waves performance. i remember a few all day road trips around the state and nearby states when tru put the f150 raptor set on sale for $25.1 point
-
To be fair some of them were overproduced and underperformed compared to sets from other themes with the same MSRP1 point

I've never seen that before, but have long since resigned myself to the fact that any inventory sent to FBA is always at risk for disappearing into the void for an indeterminate period of time ranging from a few days to many years. I received a bunch of inventory back from Amazon last year that I had sent in and that had been lost sometime between 2014-2016.1 point

I live down here. They had a great trash company that would spray cleaner that smelled good and the quarter was nice. Then they changed mayor's and the city didn't want to pay for it anymore so now the quarter is back to how it was.0 points
