I have started rebuilding my town & I'm switching to the new road plates & the mils system. I got my built sets moved to the new mils plates & I'm undecided on the sidewalks. Should I go dark grey walks (second pic) or light grey (third pic). I had dark grey & a light curb with the old plates. Most modulars come with dark grey walks too. The light grey seems to offset the new road plates better though. Any thoughts? I added the white line to widen the road plate a bit. It's narrower than the old plate. I do like them better than the old plates.4 points

Raining all day and freezing here so I thought I’d do some inventory while the kids watched a movie. My son is only 6 and hasn’t shown any interest in Star Wars, so I thought I’d build a copy of 75142 to take pictures and sell. Well, that didn’t quite work out. He came into the room about six times asking to play with it and to “help you sell it, daddy.” The last time he brought his Christmas money-$15 and said he’d buy it. And started crying saying he knew it wasn’t enough. I gave it to him on the spot, little bogger. Will be doing inventory after bed time in the future. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

Yesterday I put my 5 year-old daughter to work helping me load lego sets into storage boxes. We'd been butting heads all week, but somehow the prospect of helping me was like some kind of reward?? I mean, sure she got to open a Disney Doorable I picked up on clearance after each box we loaded, but it was fun to get her involved. She calls our basement Dad's Discount Toy store.2 points

God be with Ukrainians as rest of the world left them. ex actor, and now their president really leads by example. (Remember president of Afghanistan? Left his ppl and ran) putin underestimated Ukrainians civilians got armed and make Molotov cocktails. It’s gonna be a real problem for Putin when weeks or months from now, Ukrainians don’t lay arms but keep fighting back. F Putin. Slava Ukrainie!1 point

Royal Albert Hall does a few films a year. Working their way through poxy Harry Potter films. Gutted I missed out on Aliens, gladiator and jurrasic Park - all would have been awesome on a big screen let alone with orchestra .1 point

I like the LBG vs the DBG personally. Contrasts with the road. I love the MILS system, and once I actually start building things out here in the new house, I will be doing everything with a MILS base.1 point

I took my other half to see empire strikes back in London with live orchestra. Was amazing, both the live music and a chance to see it on a big screen. Royal Albert Hall has the return of the Jedi later this year.1 point

The scale is also different from the Harley Davidson Fat Boy, as shown in the review on Brickset:1 point

My question is; why? He proudly boasts that he sells things for $40 when every one else is selling them for $100. Strange flex. But I suppose it explains some of the pricing I see on many sets. It blows me away how people just love giving money away by selling things 20-50% cheaper than they could.1 point

Yeah I just don't see anyone in few years intentionally thinking I wish I had an Eternals Lego set unless there is a 2nd movie with additional sets.1 point

so... now that I have a few much appreciated sets, the question is.... Sell? Hold? Sell? Hold? Who am I kidding, on a shelf they go for some lucky estate sale worker to find in 6 decades when I finally kick the bucket.1 point

I just started playing Zero Dawn yesterday. Not sure about the set from an investment perspective but, I'm definitely interested in getting it for a personal build.1 point

Another one of Amazon's "Scams": Sold a Snoke's Throne Room in December and received $78.02 as proceeds after all fees. Customer initiates a return in early Jan and Amazon takes $87 out of my account for the return (basically, I pay $8.98 for the return shipping). The customer never returns the set, so now, after 2 months, I get a reimbursement. Question for the audience, how much do you think I should get back, and how much do you think I got back? Answer: The logical thing would be to get $87 back, as there was never a physical return, so no cost was incurred. I got $77.57 back however, which makes no sense in relation to any of the amounts listed before. So instead of having $78.02 as proceeds, I now have $78.02-$87+$77.57 = $68.59. Why does Amazon get to keep $10? Anyone tried challenging them on this and successfully getting the difference reimbursed? Or is this one more for the "the cost of doing business on Amazon"?1 point

i built the creator tiger and crocodile sets over the weekend. for reasons i can't put into words, these sets appeal to the lego purist in me. they were quick and interesting builds. the tiger has several sections that snap satisfyingly with a "click" when put together. i am thankful lego put the time and effort to make some actual printed wedge tiles for the tiger set forming the top of the stripe pattern that are critical to the set but could have been ruined with stickers.1 point
