Agree with the Technic opinions While I can respect a Technic build, it doesn't provide (IMO) the real LEGO building experience.3 points

The return of Toycentric / bird-e has also not helped things. That a s s h o l e artificially keeps prices down. Which is easy to do when you're dropshipping from eBay and taking zero risk yourself to purchase, store and list product. I really hope Amazon gives him the boot again more quickly than they did last time.2 points

Back from a long stint away helping family, finally made some headway on sorting out my garage... that was until I found a few boxes of stashed Space stuff... Been building a lot of Lego Friends stuff with my niece so to get back to space-based stuff is wonderful Planning on redoing the house and hope to get some proper display cases but bought some cheap ones from amazon for my nephew for Xmas for his Star Wars figs and decided to experiment... Think I will have to order him some more! It is great to be in my own home again 🍷 Also made my first Bricklink order today so am excited to see how that goes too 😊2 points

I’d wait for a good GWP promo or double VIP or something. With mine I got the tin sign, Santa’s yard, and lightsaber. I also got enough points to use for the Mandalorian armorer set. So it stung a little bit less. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

That’s a good question. Technic building is not typically my favorite. With that being said one of the most satisfying builds I can remember is the UCS Shuttle. I’ve never built anything this large so I’m thinking that the sense of accomplishment will offset some of the Technic “grind”.1 point

In the middle of building. The scale of it is crazy. Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk1 point

Do it! At worst you build it, enjoy it a while and then sell it for basically what you paid for it.1 point

https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/lunar-research-base-60350 This? It looks ok. Overpriced, typical City looking set with a few nods to Classic Space. I was thinking something more retro inspired. Like Benny’s Spaceship but a moonbase.1 point

The new 'clock tower' is more like a small story-and-a half-building with a clock in the middle. I think it's actually called the 'hospital wing'. Prob $50-$75 max. There's a bunch of video reactions on youtube to the Lego spring catalog 'leak'.1 point

Someone posted pics of the entire January 2022 lego catalog online and not many surprises but the Clock Tower is getting remade.1 point

I could be wrong, but I don't think it will affect you since Amazon allow you to cancel within 24 hours.1 point

I would use the extra large box from Homedepot (24x20x21) https://www.homedepot.com/p/The-Home-Depot-24-in-L-x-20-in-W-x-21-in-D-Extra-Large-Moving-Box-with-Handles-XLBX/316235468 You can then resize it to 24x20x6 by either cutting the extra height off the box or keep them to make a better cushion.1 point

The one thing I have over a lot of other sellers is patience and time I am already totally in the black on my investments, so I can wait1 point

I sent in my 75929 when the going rate was $159.99. It's $128 right now thanks to Toy Planet. SMH. Even though I typically only send in sets that have retired for at least 2 years, even those struggle at the moment. Just went in and did a massive "match the buybox" adjustment - luckily that immediately resulted in several sales, but at a lower price point than where I had hoped to sell based on where prices were over the summer. Glad I sold a bunch in September before the mad holiday rush started. I hope January will be better.1 point

Yep. The silly Cars 3 junior sets blew up in price after forever and most of the advent calendars from 3+ years ago did as well. I really wish I’d kept more of those Jungle Explorer sets or basically any theme from that time frame. Dunno how long this pattern lasts, but the key to higher returns for the moment is extending hold times. With that comes the increased risks of remakes, gates, more cert requests, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Yeah, my sales/profit since November 1st are about the same as 2019, but 50% down from last year. The March 2020 through March 2021 sales period will probably never be matched again.1 point

I would be willing to bet it's another Amazon seller trying to thin out the (suddenly immense) competition by sending out fake letters. That makes much more sense than Lego suddenly trying to shut down resellers, who have helped Lego thrive.1 point

Watched this sketch a long time ago. Phil Hartman was one of the best part of SNL. Also, the guy playing Sulu in the sketch above also played Sulu here. Probably why the weight joke1 point

I got a honey email with a 25% gold exclusive offer for the Mario Bowser ship. With the VIP 5% it’s basically a 30% discount in total. Not sure if it’s available to everyone but fyi just in case and if interested.1 point

Ha! UCS sets are more or less snap together model kits. The only Lego that truly imbue the spirit are the 3 in 1 Creator sets.1 point

pretty sure someone's 1 job is to go around the various LEGO manufacturing site to damage or lose random piece molds...during LEGO's history someone high up discovered that purposely introducing a bit of chaos is good for the brand...it forces innovation and flexibility. THIS is the ONLY explanation for the retirement schedule every year1 point

What did you do in that instance? My worst spider wrap experience was when a Walmart clerk couldn't figure out how to get a spider wrap off of one of the older At-Ats that was on sale after xmas so decided that the best way to deal with it was to crush the box so much that she could get the spider wrap off without unlatching it.1 point
