Gating can happen any time. You could have created the listing previously, sold some and still get gated. In my experience you can "replenish" your stock but the inventory will be stranded once there.

I was in for 1. Instantly worried when I saw it arrive in a shipping bag, was all downhill from there. This was my first (hopefully last) counterfeit, but I had to laugh when I noticed they recreated the original box art as closely as they could to the original. Check it out above - I like the upside-down bush for a tree but nothing tops the replacement for the dolly/hand truck (chef's kiss). I mean, good on them for not just wholesale copying the original - would be a lesser thief's doing, but not Jai SAI Incorporated. They have dignity in their indignities. Moral of the story - I bought quickly, wouldn't have pulled the trigger if I realized it was a 3rd party. And a word to the wise - the back of the box recreated the original's box art too with Corner Garage next to other modulars. Be on the lookout for more too-good-to-be-true sets popping up.

Just got off the phone with a LEGO Shop at Home rep and told him about how I got the retro sign instead of Santa's Front Yard because I ordered a few mins before midnight. I asked nicely to see if there was any way I could exchange the retro sign for the Front Yard, and after about five mins on hold, he told me he's sending me a Front Yard. Yay Lego! 😀

Not you. for my set, I kept the Lego paperwork that came w/ the tile just in case if needed when eventually selling it.

A pair of Yoda Lightsaber promos at more than two dollars per part, which is insane. Raised the price on the rest of them. I expected this to jump with the Luke Lightsaber, but didn't anticipate the international appeal. Both sold through eBay GSP, which significantly lowers the scam/return risk.

That looks like what we got a few years ago with the very first round - a plain black box with a printed sleeve that goes over it. It's a nice black box - opens with flaps in a way that it's reusable/reclosable and kind of opens up like a tray. This video shows what they looked like then:

You have an NISB 21021 MBS? If yes. Nice. I had to create my 21021 from individual purchases & Lego support. Cost me about $130 in total. Was very surprised to find a little damaged box w/ instructions on eBay for $20 that [mention=31269]Pseudoty[/mention] linked here & I jumped on it. Ended up getting my printed tile directly from Lego. Around that time, counterfeiters we’re getting really good w/ printed tiles If I recall correctly (been a while), they were coming out of Florida and Delaware according to bricklink listings.

Ladies and gents... gates on some listings have been lifted. Not all for me, but the ones I needed are open. Might want to check on any listings you've been blocked on the past year.

There is a blocked buyers list you can maintain. Also, those "weird" usernames with no feedback and accounts created today - those are new ebay users who do guest checkout. Wouldn't be very wise to block them ... everyone has got to start somewhere. Very low risk of getting scammed. I'd be more worried about expensive items that get bought by established users who haven't used Ebay in a while - it tends to be hacked accounts that do the scamming. Oddly enough last week when I ticked the "this item is a gift" it gave me the message, "The contents of this package will be visible. Ship to another address for privacy". Or something to that effect (affect? verbs! nouns! hooray!)
