someone should just buck the trend and do ONLY deadpan reviews ...or does Jang already fill that description??? I guess i'm thinking a totally structured and uniformed vid that has the box reveal at 35sec, numbered bags always at 1 min, MFs details at 4min, etc...let's face it, many are looking for specific info when watching these vids3 points

If you went for the Fleetfarm.com Chamber of Secrets at $96 from a few days ago, check your shipping & order info. Reddit is reporting people are being shipped the Hogsmeade Village set instead.2 points

It is a Kohls exclusive in the USA not sure about availability in other regions and it connects to 3 other sets.2 points

Coinbase and Crypto.com crashed today because an army of retail investors pumped a coin that does nothing named after a dog that was designed to dethrone another coin also named after a dog that was invented as a joke and only caught on since a crazed billionaire tweeted about it in his spare time not building rocket ships to take us to Mars. This is how I plan to describe what the future is like when I time travel back to 2008 and tell a younger version of myself to take out loans and buy something called Bitcoin. My wife prefers the new one because it's taller and cleaner. She lets me play with Lego, making it hard for me to argue against her point. Yay LEGO!2 points

Thanks guys, but we went with the newer one. Just finished the first part live streamed today She is too polished with the Pumpkin Fan Club thing. I am certain she was a Cam girl prior to being a LEGO gal2 points

your absolutely right it is why I love this set. It has been high on my list since day one but I just didn't buy it. I think a lot of people had this high on their list but there was always something else to buy first. I've rectified that myself : ) at one time someone said the mini figures that are in it are exclusive to this set. Edit according to brickset Alan Grant appeared in 75932 that is also retired, otherwise all of the mini figures in this set are only available in this set1 point

I reserved one as well. Jurassic Park has huge nostalgia value for me. I read the book and then saw the movie opening weekend (same week I graduated High School). Very memorable experience and I feel the that the movie holds up well. Alas I can't really afford to buy another big set for myself this year.1 point

The gate is a must. It needed to be big. I would have skipped the interior dioramas though as most collectors will display this against the back of a wall or shelf. At the very least the kids should have been included. That and a vehicle just to give the T-Rex something to step on.1 point

I think you're looking for the White Whale thread... over-priced sets do really well post-retirement since the original RRP becomes moot and it's price kept hoarders at bay (they also tend to be "unique" w/ low chance of remake)...ebay currently has it at $350 to x2 RRP [I just reserved one at local LEGO store...(VIP points are made for these moments of weakness)]1 point
-
lol seriously I'm just excited about it personally as a collector don't let me convince you but I think it has real potential1 point
-
yep the t-rex went to temp out a couple of months ago then came back to in stock then went to temp out then straight to sold out. It could be back but I think it is gone. It did not go to back order or even be available before it was flipped to sold out. also another indicator the t-rex is sold out in Europe and that was before the US went to sold out. whether it has a vehicle or not its a great set and many Jurassic Park fans will love it for years to come myself included1 point

that's why I got a used version for personal collection...no white whale for me1 point

What I’ve read is that this is supposed to be the movie within the Toy Story universe, that inspired the toy line. Andy would have seen this movie and wanted the toy based on this movie. I guess it’s a little like Kill Bill being a movie inside the Tarintino-verse? (Don’t follow Tarintino so don’t quote me on that)1 point

I wouldn't count on that. When large exclusives like this go around this time of the year, they tend to be gone. They may pop back up here and there based on returns/delayed shipments or other reasons, but I wouldn't count on being able to easily buy this set at retail a month from now or later.1 point

Cool teaser. Like exciter said, animation these days are mind blowing. Is this supposed to be Buzz's backstory?1 point

Thanks Unfortunately I live in NY where it is not permitted. along with north korea, sudan and iran. lol1 point

Reminds me of the same process used on Star Trek - sling-shotting around the Sun to time travel back to the past/into the future1 point

I am intrigued by this more serious while still lighthearted approach to our action figure spaceman. Pixar's animation and style continues to be top notch. I'm just left wondering so.... where does Emperor Zurg come in? (All that time playing Starcraft, I keep wanting to type "Zerg". Haha.)1 point

How do you mean? Getting enough deliveries in for FBM by a set date or not needing "approval"?1 point

Agreed! The Haunted House was one of my first modular size buildings and it's still one of my favorite sets of all time. Very tempted to buy the other though also and modular it to make it a house OR a house that was renovated into an art gallery. Would most likely shorten the tower in that case and use the parts elsewhere in the modification. Hoping for a discount somehow1 point

still with fbm, the buyer have to actually put the set in an outer box and return it to you if they want a full refund. fba returns, buyers just dgaf -> ups store, they just stick a label directly on the item and ship it "naked" back to you - well first it goes to amazon return warehouse where it can get smashed further and then shipped back to you to find out the minifigures are all missing and then the SAFE-T claim is denied when you don't have proper invoices. these issues are nothing compared to the issue of increasing seller count which seems to be exploding this year.1 point

I'm caught up on Dopesick. Keaton is good and why I decided to give it a shot. If you're familiar with the opioid thing then there's not much new there, unless you just like the drama of it, which is well done here.1 point

I continue to recommend Maid to almost everyone but it does have a lot of trigger warnings. Now I am on to Dopesick on Hulu which also may be hard for those that suffer with addiction, but Michael Keaton is great in it so far.1 point

Finished Maid on Netflix. I'm Chinese but my wife is white, and we both grew up poor. This show hit home for the both of us.1 point

The Haunted House is the superior set. Both have their benefits and the tower has some interesting techniques with some lousy 1x1/1x2 brick usage. But the tower is designed to be something different and it isn't haunted at all, it's just an attraction. The haunted house fits in with other themes, displays great by itself, has glow in the dark ghosts, and can have Santa on top of the chimney. The green tape is for a piece of art or if I decide to hang up the larger mirror waiting in the adjacent room. Yay LEGO!1 point

Both are great sets. But for display, the older one. The new Haunted House is just too large and doesn't have as much outside character. It's very imposing, but has really cool building techniques, while the smaller house is like a typical modular build that happens to open like a book opposed to horizontal levels. I've built and kept the larger house assembled because of the tower repetition. Careful with the brown bricks in the older haunted house as they're brittle. A few of mine have broken, but it just adds to the spooky-ness. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk1 point

This is awesome. What a trip down memory lane. This contest was fun. We should do it again. I chose Jabba’s Palace & Daily Bugles. Looking at eBay sold listings it looks like I picked a couple of winners. I didn’t look at Amazon prices but I imagine they’re pretty high. I remember buying Jabba’s Palace on clearance for $50. Think I had around 20 at one point, and as usual I probably sold too early. Good times. I’m surprised I didn’t go with Joker Steamrollers. [emoji2957] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I built the haunted tower/house over the last 2 weeks. It was a nice, interesting build and I really appreciate Lego trying to add a story into the instructions. The elevator mechanism is cool and I look forward to motorizing it. Yay LEGO!1 point

Purchased two #71044 Disney Train Stations (Train Station bags only) on eBay some time ago. Finally put together and modified to be a complete and enclosed building. They are essentially mirrored from one side to the next. I also expanded the taller tower a little bit and now fits a total of four windows on the roof instead of the original just having two. Plus, I made it to be modular as well. I did not have to use too many extra pieces from my bulk, mainly tile pieces and the train tracks. And I was able to integrate the cobblestone tiles from the GWP Harry Potter Diagon Ally #40289. I do enjoy train station buildings and I think it looks pretty sharp.1 point
