  1. It’s Back… SHIPMAGIC https://www.shopdisney.com/lego-mini-disney-castle-40478-walt-disney-world-50th-anniversary-673419345798.html?bc_pid=NjczNDE5MzQ1Nzk4&CMP=EMC-ao_bc_BackInStock_trg_na&obem=zNUHktTr6UB1GBMyBatb98vWMNa7OgmknIcKWdEB3-w%3D&bc_lcid=t5412729844416512lw5829488116252672

  2. So just the other day I found the Phantasm DVD collection with all five films at Best Buy I believe for like $12. I'm going to be binge watching that alongside the annual Rocky Horror Picture Show viewing with family (my mother) as is tradition. (Her TV's bigger.) Anyway I hope everyone has a Happy Halloween! And may The Great Pumpkin leave lots of LEGO! Oh and for anyone curious, one day left (as of posting) to pre-order the 80s horror documentary "In Search Of Darkness" limited run.

  3. Even without 2X VIP points, one would still get 1X VIP points plus the promo, so in the US the promo only needs to be worth more than $31.50 to be a better deal. That mark isn't too difficult to hit - even that crappy Roman Chariot that came out with the Coliseum last year brings in $35+ on ebay. Now, if they would do a nice 250+ piece model of the Titanic in a good-looking box (like they did with the UCS Batmobile), then forget about it!

  4. Well, you always get 5%, so the tradeoff is $30 vs GWP. But there are occasions with both GWP and double vip. And I assume the Titanic will have a long run, so one can be patient.

  5. House of Wax surprised me way back in 2005. I haven't watched it since though so..

  6. Assembly Square $236.95 at AAFES. FS & Tax free for the worthy. Just curious... How deep are people going on this? What's Disney's policy with multiple orders?

  7. We've been watching English dubbed with English subtitles at the same time (first checking for accuracy and then just leaving it that way). I agree, reading the subs with Korean spoken makes it less cringy, but the dialog is still very awkward and weird. That being said the show is eye candy. Aesthetically speaking, The sets are vibrant and beautiful. I've also enjoyed the episodes 6,7 & 8 way more than the previous 5. We'll watch the finale tonight. The show is just "okay". That's a hard okay, at that. I just don't see the big fuss. PS - Am I the only one that gets Power Rangers 'feels' whenever the red masked guys are wandering the island? Lol.

  9. Few recent interesting buys (US prices). Used Brick Bank, CIB, for $230. I don't need another one, but I like money. Used Coaster for 35% off retail. Used 4195 in minty mint condition incl.box/inst/poster, $155. 76139 Batmobile, 20% off at Lego store. This must be new because I have only received points for damaged box exclusives. Deals are hard to find in Canada and the border can't open up soon enough, because there's Lego to be bought Yay LEGO!

  10. Try changing from the default of English dubbed, to Korean with English subtitles. It makes it a little less cringy.

  11. Started watching squid game yesterday with the wife. We're through the first 6 episodes. I honestly don't know what all the fuss is about? It's pretty awkward and cringy. Most of the characters are unlikeable. The dialogue is... mostly laughable. The actions of the characters make little sense. Is everyone in Korea broke? I don't think it's a cultural thing as movies like Oldboy & Train to Busan were amazing. This feels like Parasite all over again. I didn't understand why anyone liked that either.

  12. We really need to come up with a new abbreviation for that set. Every time that I read it I forget the forum that I am in and get excited. Of course, at 60 years old, I get excited about GMILF too. 😉

  14. Some that haven't been mentioned: I like the original version of The Eye (2000ish). It's standard but enjoyable. There's always Hellraiser, but I watched it last year and don't think it holds up well. Trick R Treat and Event Horizon are good, but you've probably seen those. Plus one vote for Train to Busan - great movie. Yay LEGO!

  15. I grew up watching horror classics of the Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, Boris Karloff, Basil Rathbone, Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, and so on era. Then there were the 80's, oh boy, was that the decade of horror. I suspect though you & your family may have already watched all of that and are looking forward to something somewhere within the past century at least. Haha. I recall way back picking up a trilogy pack for a direct-to-video sorta series Scarecrow (2002). They are corny but good B-movie material with the first two being the best if I remember rightly. Another B-movie slasher coincidentally also from 2002 would be The Greenskeeper. Some of the kills were entertaining. Ha. In 2010 there was film about a sentient tire (named Robert) called Rubber. Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer from 2007 with Robert Englund was over the top dumb fun. There was a sequel I believe but I don't remember. 30 Days of Night (2007) was vampires in Alaska. Dog Soldiers (back to 2002) had some great werewolves. Perhaps not for the family but a side mention for The Tattooist (2007). Also not exactly full length feature films but the Masters of Horror series was two seasons worth of the masterful macabre.

  16. Have you watched foreign horror flicks like Train to Busan? There was "Ju On" (adapted as the Grudge in US), IIRC there were 4 movies including prequel. Also the Ring / "Ringu" and Audition. Other than those, my list mainly consists of old stuffs like The Cabin in the Woods, the Exorcist, Nightmare on Elm Street series, Wishmaster, Alien, Scanners, Pet Sematary, IT (TV miniseries), IT part 1, the Wicker Man (original), John Carpenter's Vampires, Tucker & Dale vs Evil, Blade, From Dusk til Dawn, Ghostbusters & 2, Leprechaun, Phantasm.

  19. It always cracks me up how so many people here seem to think that every little thing that happens with respect to LEGO is part of some well thought out and carefully crafted master plan. I have no direct insight into how LEGO runs internally, but I'm guessing it is far more chaotic and less well planned than many believe. They are running a massive operation and I'd bet they spend far more time figuring out mundane things like how to get X tons of ABS plastic pellets from point A to point B at just the right time so they don't have to sit on a dock waiting for the necessary colorant to arrive from the dye supply company, than they do figuring out when to post a Retiring Soon tag on LEGO Shop at Home to squeeze a little extra out of resellers.
