  1. Purchased two #71044 Disney Train Stations (Train Station bags only) on eBay some time ago. Finally put together and modified to be a complete and enclosed building. They are essentially mirrored from one side to the next. I also expanded the taller tower a little bit and now fits a total of four windows on the roof instead of the original just having two. Plus, I made it to be modular as well. I did not have to use too many extra pieces from my bulk, mainly tile pieces and the train tracks. And I was able to integrate the cobblestone tiles from the GWP Harry Potter Diagon Ally #40289. I do enjoy train station buildings and I think it looks pretty sharp.

  10. 1. Yes, you can buy different items with offer and get them all. 2. I have never tried but my understanding is that the offer is for one of each item only.

  11. Honey deals are very good but I wish there were a real gwp and not just a poly. Never sure what to do with the random collection of polys I get. For those interested, here is the link: https://www.joinhoney.com/explore/popular/lego shop/E9DXCzE8d_114 I think 15% off the top end sets (e.g. Diagon Alley) is better than many gwp. And the wreath might no longer be around by the next time there is a gwp. Although Lego probably made way many after they were so hot last year.

  18. Back at the end of August I bought a bulk lot for $300, which was by far the most I'd spent on such a thing, I'm much more comfortable spending $30-80 for what might be random crap. However this one had manuals for Parisian Restaurant, Holiday Train, Winter Village Station, and the City Hospital as well as about $1000 RRP of Friends sets. The first and last of which I have new-in-box still, so it's a used-for-new trade out. I've spent the last few weeks sorting them, into their own brand new sorting bins that I hadn't used yet. I've gotten City Hospital and WV Station to 100%, Parisian Restaurant to 99% (just twelve pieces missing!) and just started the Train tonight, up to 45% so far. I started with some good sized chunks of the bigger sets still intact gave me a bit of a head start. A funny thing is that I'm letting my daughter play with the parts I'm sorting and occasionally I'll find the part I'd been searching everywhere for in some little build she's made. I told her when I'm done she can choose a set or a few from the stack of manuals and we can part them together.

  19. It always cracks me up how so many people here seem to think that every little thing that happens with respect to LEGO is part of some well thought out and carefully crafted master plan. I have no direct insight into how LEGO runs internally, but I'm guessing it is far more chaotic and less well planned than many believe. They are running a massive operation and I'd bet they spend far more time figuring out mundane things like how to get X tons of ABS plastic pellets from point A to point B at just the right time so they don't have to sit on a dock waiting for the necessary colorant to arrive from the dye supply company, than they do figuring out when to post a Retiring Soon tag on LEGO Shop at Home to squeeze a little extra out of resellers.
