  2. Back at the end of August I bought a bulk lot for $300, which was by far the most I'd spent on such a thing, I'm much more comfortable spending $30-80 for what might be random crap. However this one had manuals for Parisian Restaurant, Holiday Train, Winter Village Station, and the City Hospital as well as about $1000 RRP of Friends sets. The first and last of which I have new-in-box still, so it's a used-for-new trade out. I've spent the last few weeks sorting them, into their own brand new sorting bins that I hadn't used yet. I've gotten City Hospital and WV Station to 100%, Parisian Restaurant to 99% (just twelve pieces missing!) and just started the Train tonight, up to 45% so far. I started with some good sized chunks of the bigger sets still intact gave me a bit of a head start. A funny thing is that I'm letting my daughter play with the parts I'm sorting and occasionally I'll find the part I'd been searching everywhere for in some little build she's made. I told her when I'm done she can choose a set or a few from the stack of manuals and we can part them together.

  4. Lego has tagged several big ones on the US site. Don't remember seeing a retiring soon tag on a modular before on the N America site. Fossils is there too. https://www.lego.com/en-us/categories/retiring-soon?cmp=emc-c=PROMO-eid=1666-d=10/5/2021-n=NEWSLETTER_WK40_CONTROL-sid=6566256-jid=12311-s=NEWS-t=MIX-a=ACTIVE-tst=Variant_A_10050&j=12311&sfmc_sub=6566256&l=259_HTML&u=769937&mid=510004361&jb=7462

  10. I was looking for some info on the motorcycles which got a glowing review. Still not as good as my SSP demolition derby.

  11. Great build but watch out for the brittle reddish brown issue. I put it together a couple years back and had a couple of reddish brown parts that broke on me that I had to grab from my bulk to replace.

  12. $320 for a "new" palace cinema is....ok. not great. always check bricklink, but I've seen a lot on local sites for around $280/$300. But regardless, $320 is certainly not bad. Don't pay over $350 for a new one or $250 for a used one.

  13. Well, it’s selling on eBay in US for $370-$390 with free shipping. So right now you’d prob break even. So not a great deal to flip. Prob better places to invest $320 in my opinion. But you wouldn’t lose money on the deal either. And it’s value should only increase.

  16. Got the last two Black Widow sets in Chicago for pickup in Wicker Park, sure my four year old threw up all over herself in the car twice on the way, but we finished the mission and that's what's important, right? I think the lesson we learned is: don't play Minecraft in the car.

  17. Hello! I’m new here to Brickpicker, but have been a huge fan of Legos for years now! Just a little about myself, I am a mother to 2 wonderful children, a wife, & a store manager. I enjoyed Legos as a kid, but fell in love with them when we bought our daughter her first Lego set. Now, it’s one of my family’s favorite hobbies! As much fun as we have buying new sets to build, we have found we have a lot more fun just buying a bulk of Legos and having contests of who can build the best & most creative buildings. After buying multiple bulk Lego sets, we now have a pretty impressive Lego minifigure collection of almost 1000! Of course I let my kids keep their favorite ones, but I’ve decided to start selling the rest of them. While doing research of finding the best ways & places to sell them I have found out just how huge the Lego community is, this is how I found myself on Brickpicker. If anyone has any advice, I would love to hear from you! Thanks!!
