  2. My son has asked Santa for a 10261 Roller Coaster the past two years, but Santa wasn't too keen on spending $380 on a new one. Lucky for him, I bought a loose one over the weekend for $230. It came with both instruction manuals (no box) and was missing two small pieces (orange ice cream top with clear cup). The guy was an hour away and offered to meet me halfway, so that was nice. I feel lucky to grab it at this price since it's "supposedly" retiring at the end of the year. Santa doesn't pay a premium for retired sets...at least our Santa doesn't.

  4. Just read through the threads. To save you a lot of time: LEGO is better than gold, that's all you need to know in order to succeed.

  11. Aren't they the same as the one in Elf Club House? They did not call it Elf Club House for nothing

  13. One good thing that likely will come out of split is increased in quantity and hopefully quality of videos as they each seek to outdo the other.

  14. No, I am not really saying that either. I watched every video by both of them as they released them and I am just think Jim's videos were more entertaining and yes, Jim actually gave set advice. From what I recall Shane has never recommended a particular set, just likes to make videos about tips, terms/phrases, and what sets he already bought for deals that were no longer available at the time the videos were released. I didn't always agree with Jim's "picks" but there are a million other channels out there that does what Shane has been doing, there are far fewer that actually say I think this set will be a winner at retirement. In the end, that is what noob sellers want, someone to hold their hand and tell them which sets to buy and I think that is why Jim's new channel will be more successful than Shane's in the long run. 16. Not really. But sets are getting to the point where they look more like Playmobil and less “LEGO” in the classic sense.

  17. This one has me confused. Guy was selling 4 Medieval Blacksmith for $115 each with free shipping . I messaged him and asked any discount if I buy all 4 since he would save on shipping and I am close by. He replies promptly, no because he can easily sell them at this price and he can only ship 2 per box so he would have no savings. Around 250 feedback with recent sales all positive except for a pair of shoes that didn’t fit. So, I buy 2 and pay with PayPal and they don’t ship no tracking uploaded. I go to check his feedback and see he no longer has any active listings. Open a case with eBay and get a full refund the same day before I can even check the case status. So figured hacked account. Then yesterday I get an email from UPS that I have a package coming from “the UPS store” no further details. Today it arrives and has the senders name and address are on the label but it is only 1 set and I paid for 2. I check the seals and they look to clearly be tampered with, so I weigh the set and it is 80 grams heavier then my others. So now I am expecting that it was opened and swapped out with fake lego or the Minifigures were pulled and replaced with something a little heavier. I open the set and it is lego and all 14 bags are there with the Minifigures. The reason it was heavier (see picture) was the instructions were sealed in a box not a bag like the one I just built. Not sure why he didn’t just sell me all 4 if he was planning to scam and still not sure why he still sent 1 set with pricey shipping. I can’t recall getting instructions in a flat box like that only sails.
