This happened four months ago. My family has another family that are our good friends. Very close. Our kids have played together since birth. Their daughter, 9 years old, slipped in the shower and hit her head very hard. A severe concussion. She did not remember anything, same as you experienced. Her symptoms were severe headaches, double vision, dizziness. extreme lethargy and mood shifts. She was pulled from sports/physical activity and even school. They had constant doctors visits and waited. And waited more. Well past the "bell curve" as you've described it. Her parents were extremely scared as things were just not getting better. Two months go by and still she is suffering, but the headaches hard started to subside just a tad bit. Good news, but still, things were not good. The concussion specialist made a point to tell them that some patients with severe concussions can take much longer to heal. But he emphasized "they will heal." He stated in some cases it can take many months to recover, but they eventually fully recover. While they were skeptical at times they patiently watched and waited. Beginning in the third month her headaches became less painful and came around less often. Each day a little better. Her vision started to improve. And by the end of the third month she was back in school and cleared for all physical activity. She is back to a normal 9 year old girl. Her energy and personality returned as if it never happened. I wrote all this to encourage your recovery. Just because you've passed the "average recovery time" does not mean you will not fully recover. Those people at the extreme edges of the recovery bell curve are there for a reason. They recovered. Just at a different pace.4 points

Haha. Reminds me of when I was showing a unit to a tenant and they parked their car head first into a parallel parking spot (so, perpendicular to the way it should have been). It was a small car, so it didn't stick out much, but still...4 points

Yup they were. Cancelled all remaining hardtop orders until 2022 unless you had a FE. They will replace the few thousand that were already delivered and have a few thousand sitting in a holding lot referred to as dirt mountain. The rollouts been a mess. Getting a build date on a first night reservation 14 months later is ridiculous. Most first editions still didn't have a build date / vin until yesterday. They've just been building soft tops and thats all I've seen so far. The reviews so far have been positive though. Ride and comfort has been much better than the Wrangler. It's very off road capable. Most people that bought already own or owned a Wrangler and have been pretty impressed with it. It's definitely big and wide. Few off road videos show the Wrangler still is better in tight trails and the angles it can take. Best thing out of it is competition. Everyone has to step up their game now. 4runner will get a remodel and rumors of new FJ coming. Chevy is possibly making a off road grand blazer and return of the Defender will have a lot of choices. Tundra Info gets released 9/19. If the TRD Pro gets the hybrid Max with close to 500 hp and 700 torque and 30mpg that will be tough to turn down. First editions been going for 100-125k so far with another Mecum auction coming up. Last Mecum went for 126500 and none were the exclusive color. Pretty crazy. Next up will be the Z. 40k for a base model will probably be the best play there or the limited run proto to 240 units.3 points

I admit I am one on of the less vocal and less overall posters in this community lately, and there is a valid reason for that besides not wanting to engage in political and religious discussions. On Friday, August 6 of this year I sustained a concussion while attempting to make a catch while playing softball, at least my second concussion. I have no real recollection of my forehead hitting the ground besides what my teammates told me and the mild neck discomfort/pain I immediately experienced. This one is different though because I am not getting better. My diagnosis is post-concussion syndrome since my symptoms have lingered and I am past the traditional bell curve for recovery. For the past month I feel about the same, no worse or better, and I had an appointment with my concussion specialist this past Tuesday. I begin treatment on my neck soon and I go back to the concussion specialist in a month. She did give me medication to take at bedtime to help me sleep and hopefully ease the headaches. I am not experiencing blinding headaches and that is a blessing. Here is my best attempt to describe my symptoms and no one can tell me when I will recover yet. My head fills like when one has a head cold or one’s sinuses are blocked all the time and the headaches are mild, but persistent. I take short rest breaks throughout the workday (busy periods make my symptoms worse), and I take at last one nap after work. This is the fatigue part, and I would like to sleep even more. Occasionally I get lightheaded. My goal is to be there/functional for my family and friends, and to take walks every day. Getting back on my mountain bike and playing sports again is not nearly as important and seems inconsequential at this point. I share my story, not for sympathy, empathy, etc. but for awareness for others. Physical injuries are hard enough. Mental/brain injuries may be even harder. I am not comparing one to other. We all have all crosses to bear as it were. I appreciate the many members who have shared their stories too, like ravenb99 and Phil B. My worst episode was counting and sorting Lego pieces about two weeks ago for the Lego Midi-Scale Millennium Falcon I bought off eBay. I began feeling very dizzy and nauseous, my wife helped me finished and I was better after lying down for two hours.2 points

I passed my first one a couple years ago, or the Fall before the Pandemic. No fun and I was down for a weekend, since it really didn't get too painful until then. I think it was working it's way down for about a month. It was a little smaller than a grain of rice, but it sucked.1 point

My wife gets them. I'd never wish that pain on my worst enemy. The last one while two months pregnant. In the ER three times in six days. While we sat in ER waiting room the second time she was screaming at the top of her lungs in pain. Begging for help. Took fifteen minutes to get her back while everyone stared upon her in horror. That bastard finally came out at 4.5mm. Looked like a jagged grain of rice.1 point

The forge arrived earlier this week and it was a quick and easy build. Mando is the same version as in Gideon's cruiser but instead of a cape, he has a jet pack. Includes his rifle and a pistol. Paz Vizsla is built like a tank with is multi-barreled cannon and brick built pack. He also has those shoulder pads that Wrecker used, Posing is a problem if not stuck to a brick or plate. The Armorer looks nice and has plenty of tools and weapon options within the set. I have mixed feelings on the small playsets. Sometimes they are great others seem lacking. This set captures the elements of the forge scenes and when the forge is connected to the entry way, it's a tight fit with little space to stand figs on the set so they don't fall over. It has some nice pay features to include a tool cabinet with hidden storage for a pistol and small disks that could be mines or explosives. The forge has spots along the side to mount weapons or tools. The random broom is included by that spot also works for Mando's rifle. There are some misc brick built power tools along the wall to include maybe a press or drill. My only really complain are the stickers for the curved pieces; It takes me several attempts to get them to be someone evenly spaced. Currently My Mando shelf is to cramped to display the forge so I have to redo the space in the IKEA glass cabinet shelf.1 point

I deal(t) with these problems permanently, I feel you. It started when I wasn't even 2 years old, I frequently fainted randomly in my parents arms, but always gained consciousness within a few seconds. It never stopped since then, I find myself unconcious at least once every 3-4 months so I gained some experience on how to deal with it before it happens. It's getting longer too, longest time-out was over 5 minutes. Doctors said it's definitely epilepsy + my very low blood pressure. Often tired even though I get my 8 hours of sleep, it's rare that I'm 100% energetic. When I feel it starting I instantly lay down, feet up. I lose my balance, my head feels like it's about to go off, my vision turns bright-white or pitch-black until I'm out. I rarely 'catch' myself. If someone is near me I warn them that my lights are going out so they don't suffer a shock, that happened too often. Waking up & realizing the person next to you is completely pale, crying & in a worse state than you are. After waking up you feel weird for 10-15 minutes, like everything is moving inside you, hard to explain. Sometimes I wake up & feel better than before, really strange. Every so often it all happens too fast & I fall, hit the bed or a table which results in crazy concussions, sometimes my vision was so f'd up after waking up I couldn't tell apart the medic from my friends. The 2 worst surfaces my head hit were a chemistry brick table (8th grade or so) & these smooth white bathroom tiles. Those 2 falls were bad bad, I still remember the pain in the back of my head. My biggest fear is it happening in the ocean or something, I'm swimming a lot. That's it then, no respawn, I doubt someone could get me in time. You said you get light headed? Sounds like low blood pressure... Just test it every morning for a few weeks & see if it's that, some people go their whole lives without knowing they're suffering from hypotension. If so I recommend avoiding lemons, I find that it lowers it even more. Instead, eat a little more salt (don't overdo it, unhealthy) & drink more water than usual. Cold showers also help, it keeps the blood flowing. If you don't feel like cold showering, just shower your legs. And exercise, ideally don't do heavy deadlifts & stuff like that. Oh & and don't stand up too fast. I sit on my bed at least 10 minutes before I get up so my body gets used to the change. It happened too often that I just instantly stood up in the morning & involuntarily went back to sleep again - good night. Unfortunately I don't know about your post concussion syndrome, the effects on me after a concussion only lasted about 2 weeks at the absolute max & besides I haven't had a concussion in years, I learned my lesson trying to stand & wait it out during a faint. Wishing you all the best.1 point

Very sorry to hear and I hope you have a healthy recovery. I was dumb and outran a runner when I was playing first base a few years ago. I didn't touch the inside of the bag, I tried to run through the bag and we both collided at full steam. I had a concussion for a couple weeks, but had a full recovery. I also had a softball size bruise on my thigh I was worried that might cause a blood clot. Listen to your doctors and I hope therapy helps you get back to feeling like yourself.1 point

Might still be worth a look though.1 point

If it is lost product you're worried about, buy a box. The stupid bubble wrap mailers that they send small sets out in consistently get pancaked, so I don't know how an extra layer of bubble wrap is going to stop that.1 point

We have custom order furniture being delivered today and we sold the remaining old stuff to make room. The person who came to pick it up last night backed up into a concrete pillar in the parking lot when there were no less than a dozen parking spots available and no cars around. Some people shouldn't be driving. Yay LEGO!1 point

All my ESB and Bugattis arrived from Zavvi. All perfect pretty much except one banged up box. They even split one order of 10 into 2 boxes and proudly emailed me to let me know they did that. My have they learnt. Entertainment earth sent first of my fossils from the 30% off sale. But they sneakingly added $100 to the order. you guys may wanna double check charges on cc.1 point

I hate to be the one to do it, but I can see the flamethrowers being lit by either side. Plus I do not want to spend the night being a dad to a bunch of so called adults.
