  2. Because travel and the actual 40% of the population that isn't vaccinated because kids and teens. https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2021/08/20/1029628471/highly-vaccinated-israel-is-seeing-a-dramatic-surge-in-new-covid-cases-heres-why I don't even understand what you're after or trying to prove anymore. 1. Universal masking works to slow the spread of the virus. 2. Vaccines are still quite effective at preventing serious infection and very good at preventing infections requiring hospitalization. 3. The rate of vaccine injury is insanely low compared to the risk of a bad case of Covid. 4. Resistance is Futile 5. You will be assimilated.

  3. Visited some museums and battlefields in Normandy on a road trip with my son. I was based in Bayeux one of the first towns liberated by the Allies. Here are the places I visited in 1.5 days. Sainte-Mère-Église, Airborne Museum, Memorials dedicated to East Company near Brecourt Manor, D-day experience museum, Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach Memorial. On day 2, American Normandy Cemetery, Overlord Museum, Pegasus Bridge and Memorial, Merville Battery. The museums I visited were all excellent and I wasn't disappointed. I only wish I had more time to spare.

  5. How tf would you come up with a name like that? And who approved this? Disney's conference room?: +"We need a name, anyone have any ideas? No slaves can be involved though." -"I was thinking Firespray, Dirtthrow or Watertoss." +"Firespray, that's class, here, have a raise." Had to be something like that.

  6. I'm in construction, so I like this comparison for a couple reasons. First there are many different trades involved in a project, just like there are many different specialists one could go see for an ailment. Just because I have contractor on a project, doesn't mean he is actually good at what needs to be done, he may be able to find a subcontractor but he doesn't posses the skillset to do all the aspects of a project. Similar to my family doctor, he can't possibly know everything, sure he probably touched on a lot of subjects in school, but that doesn't necessarily make him an expert on the topic of this coronavirus. That brings me to my second comparison, reps bring by products that they want to use all the time, flooring, lighting, everything in a building. Once again, it is impossible to know everything about all these products so we rely on our relationships with the representatives. We trust that they will take care of any issues if the product fails. It's not until a product get used on a job if we know it's actually a good product and even then we need time to discover any issues. I assume this is similar for the pharma reps that visit doctors, they bring products that solve issues the doctors are seeing. I don't believe that the doctors know everything about these products, they rely on the information provided to them. It's not until later, after some time that issues pop up. It's not that I don't believe or trust my doctor, or think that I know better than him, it's that I know he is only as good as the information he is given. It seems like all the information is so positive and there is no downside, but that's never the case.

  8. バスターソード Cloud Strife's Buster Sword by Brick Ninja Here is a little tid bit from the pic description: Cloud Strife’s Buster Sword from Final Fantasy VII. This is a 1:1 life size replica. It is 6 feet long, and over a foot wide. This is based off of its appearance in Final Fantasy VII: Remake (Part 1) which is celebrating its 1 year anniversary today. Stability was a major issue with this sword, particularly due to the Materia slots (Two circular holes near where the blade connects to the hilt. In the end it is fairly sturdy. (The only position it cannot withstand is being held out flat, parallel to the ground.)

  10. It doesn't fit real well into the narrative that there are these organizations hidden from sight that are pulling the strings of our society and are always standing at the ready to provide a tortured and nonsensical explanation for pretty much anything that happens in the world in an effort to control us, but the reality is that the vast majority of "elites" and other people who wield power in our society are simply looking out for their own interests. Sure, you get the occasional rich old white guy who has enough money to try and influence things to his own ideological ends (e.g., the Koch brothers), but most rich white guys and gals who have money or are in positions of power are just working to feed their egos and/or bank accounts. But confronting that reality is whole lot less satisfying that believing that a cabal of satan-worshipping pedophiles are running both the government and a child sex trafficking ring out of a random pizza shop in Washington. 12. Pretty certain any naming convention Disney discusses begins with "We can trademark this, right?" All the rest is virtue signaling. Funny how Disney is moving away from any talk about slaves or slavery in Star Wars, considering that one of the main reasons Anakin became Vader was because he was a slave along with his mother and the Jedi didn't really appear to have much of a problem with that. Lucas dropped that as a main plot point and just referenced it as backstory, one of the greatest mistakes in terms of storytelling the prequels committed and I'd put this on par with Jar Jar. https://screenrant.com/star-wars-phantom-menace-slavery-qui-gon-anakin/

  13. No way. Disney is more sophisticated than that. They have got to have a database full of words deemed as not offensive by their lawyers. Out of these words they pick ones that are edgy (by Disney's standard), like fire and spray. (Fire can be dangerous and people get annoyed if you spray them). Combine the two and voila, they come up with something new and unique but kind of edgy (by Disney's standard). Another problem solved by advanced technology !!! -Seriously, Disney should hire me to write Star Wars or any other sci-fi properties they own-

  14. If a large enough part of the population had been vaccinated (I believe 75%+), the vaccine would have been able to prevent transmission. But because we didn't even get to 50% in most cases, we created hotspots where the virus could experiment and mutate, and cause strains that are not fully covered by the vaccine (but you are still protected against the biggest impacts of it, similar to the flu vaccine and regular flu).

Sadly, it appears our dear friend Mathew hasn't yet realized that "they" monitor the interwebs and are likely in the process of positioning a satellite over his house right now to monitor his thoughts. Think the tin foil will save you? Wrong, that's what "they" want you to believe...it actually enhances the thought rays beaming out of your head as a result of the fluoride-spiked water "they" have forced on us all these years. 21. I have no dog in the Brickfolio fight (I never used it and don't care if it ever returns), but doesn't it seem like the next step should be you asking people if they would like this new idea that you have or to have their Brickfolio data restored? So far, there is PLENTY of evidence that people want their Brickfolio data, but zero evidence that this new secret idea is going to be of any value to anyone. Not working on something that people are clamoring for to instead work on something that nobody is asking for seems a bit backwards, no? Listen to your customer. No, they haven't paid anything, but they're still your customers. I mean, at this point, can't you just provide everyone a CSV of their data and not keep the hope alive that the Brickfolio will ever be coming back? I get it, it's a free site, and a free service that was offered. But, at the same time, they just want to access their data that you already have. According to your past posts on the topic, you've stated repeatedly that all of the data is safe. So, just make it available to everyone and move on from this project that you clearly have no interest in completing.

  25. Valid point. And I did forget about that. I did have to reset my buy in costs because of this lost data. So any sets I had that I did not have actual purchase price for I simply listed as full retail. But going forward I am putting in accurate buy in sale prices. I understand this is not fully accurate to the older sets that had lost purchase price data but I also do t want to be assume I bought on sale when sometimes I do buy at full retail. certainly, it’s not a perfect solution. Just a possible suggestion for others moving forward. i also opened up a ************** account and now have all my data stored there as well. So apparently I’m not allowed to mention any competition for Brickpicker. They auto block it. I guess you can do some googling for yourself to find it. But it works pretty well for online personal set tracking and cost projections. I find it odd that Brickpicker is blocking talking about a company that offers a service that Brickpicker doesn’t even offer anymore.

  26. Check the actual price listed for your sticker, for some reason they don't separate tax, they just add it into the price. I had a similar issue and was told it is normal for everyone except for us in the USA. Still seems idiotic to not separate it out and build it into the price of the item but it does work out in the end.

  27. The level of cover up coming out of the CCP was absurd. It was very troubling but also very informing following all the posts coming out of China over WeChat and Twitter. And those were only the ones able to get on a VPN. Just image the amount of censoring that was taking place Dec19-Feb20, and not just on social media. I am very nervous of the current fall forecast. Although the FDA approval is promising, I have a feeling the announcement will only change a very small percentages of minds. Lines have been drawn, heels dug in. Paired with with schools bull-dozing ahead for reopening, we are creating a perfect storm.

  30. This. Absolutely agree 100%. Its almost, almost unbelievable how many regular 'joes' like to argue with what the current science is telling us. 'They keep moving the goal posts!' Ha! How many Pandemics have you been apart of? Honest question, would it be considered an argument if one person is a medical profession and the other isn't but the topic is vaccination? Would those same Medical Professionals but onsite of construction arguing about whether studs should be spaced 16 or 24 in on-center? But at the end of the day, this is the same crowd who are telling each other to try ivermectin, hydroxychloroquine and when all else fails, chug that ginger ale. So I suppose it shouldn't be all that unbelievable, closer to that of disappointment in our fellow sapiens I guess. I understand its hard to trust anything the government says, being skeptical is a good thing. But to disregard science that is trying to keep up with a highly volatile virus is dangerous. At this point in time, Biohazard would be a fair label for the unvaccinated. I truly hope you are able to stay safe and healthy through all this. Even people I disagree with, I still wish the best for them. Absolute tragedy, my sincere condolences to you and your family. Thank you for the courage to share your experience. I understand this is a joke. However, more people need to be 'Anti-fooders' as referred to in this meme, at least in the US. There is a reason US food companies have a US version and a Worldwide version...ingredients. Most of which have been banned in foreign countries. Hmmmm heart disease, cancer and diabetes are leading causes of death in the US? You don't say. Perfect segue right back to my post regarding pet health. How many pet owners have done any research about how the food is cooked/prepared, inquire about full list of actual ingredients or how long it is stored before expiry? Not enough. Feed your animals fresh food people! Or at the very least, avoid foods that have been cooked at high temps(> 350F) for long durations (over 15 min), or have a shelf life greater than 8mo. All causes of depleting vitamins and nutrients. True definition of empty calories. Look into how the food is prepared. Email companies to ask preparation methods (extrusion) if they don't disclose on their websites.(most dont) If they fail to answer adequately, move on. It may cost a bit more at the register to feed your animals fresh, but costs sky rocket once Bella the black lab needs skin/arthritis/bladder infection meds daily at age 6. Same goes for Socks the cat. Fish and meat may cost more than bagged hard food or soft food flooded with preservatives and unnecessary chemicals. But it cost way less than dealing with kidney disease, pancreatitis tooth decay and diabetes. We already treat them as members of the family, extend that to their food. We as humans are no different. Its almost sickening (no pun intended this time) to walk into a grocery store these days. Shelves upon shelves of processed, hydrogenated, boxed, canned, preserved 'foods', all 'wants'. When all we really 'need' is fresh foods. Change is difficult, as @Mathewcontinues to prove, but difficult does not equate to impossible. Next time, try eating a carrot for breakfast instead of that bacon, egg and cheese.

  38. At the end of the day, this legislation wouldn't really harm small business sellers much at all. It would simply lead to Amazon spinning the operation of its sales platform off from its retail business so the two were operated separately. In essence, Amazon, Inc. would become the largest third-party seller on the platform operated by Amazon Platform Services, LLC (or whatever name they came up with). They would all fall under the same corporate umbrella, but we be operated and managed separately. It would be a complete nightmare from the perspective of those responsible for running Amazon, but wouldn't impact third-party sellers all that much...except maybe Amazon would start to see how useless seller support is.

  41. First it’s basic triage, when medical care must be rationed it goes to those most likely to survive. Peer reviewed studies in medical journals( that’s the backbone of medical knowledge all medical professionals use to make treatment decisions) all statistically verify that vaccinated individuals survive at higher rates when battling COVID than unvaccinated, it’s not even close. You can’t argue or change those facts unless you don’t believe in medical science at all at which point why are you seeking medical care. For me it’s simple, a child deserves an icu bed more than a person who is eligible for a vaccine and has chosen not to for whatever reason, I challenge anyone to refute or disagree with this statement! Like it or not this is where we are headed, medical care and doctors, nurses time is finite so these decisions will start being made and guess what they are going to be made by medical scientists. If I had my way it would not be so much so and Congress would have approved more funding for hospital residencies since 1990 so we would have more doctors, alas that’s not the country we live in. And unless you can buy your own hospital your stuck. Write your congressperson today and make a difference we need more doctors and funding for residencies. We already have studies that have shown many people have suffered and paid with their lives when medical procedures had to be delayed or canceled last year. Now it is preventable again medical science says this not me, and almost all hospitalized COVID are unvaccinated. If you don’t believe in medical science why ask it to bail you out. You can’t pick and choose what science you choose to believe, that’s not how the scientific method works. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
