Someone demanded a refund because I shipped their order to the wrong address. I shipped to the address on order details but apparently that was an "old address" and I never "contacted them about providing another address"... I am sorry I didn't preemptively ask you if the address you confirmed during checkout was in fact an old one. 🙃7 points

I think we should all just let people do what they want to do regarding this virus stuff. If they don't want the vaccine, let them not get it and stop harassing them. If they don't want to wear a mask, just leave them alone. On the flip side, if you want the vaccine, go for it. If you want to wear a mask, you're more than welcome to. People shouldn't be harassing people with or without masks or with or without the vaccine. It's their personal decision, and it should be made solely by them. The reason why someone made their decision shouldn't even matter as none of us are in a place to question people's motives or reasoning. I think it would help everyone if we just minded our own business and let everyone decide for themselves what they want to do.5 points

Change AFTER a period of time spent to test the hypothesis. Just like in computer programming, a theory / a program that is released without appropriate testing is going to lead to chaos. Applying this to the Covid vaccine and trusting the experts. The FDA (experts) say vaccines need go under several phases of tests to be declared safe which can take years to accomplish. Yet the Covid vaccine was developed and tested in under 6 months. Either FDA is BS-ing about the length of trials or the vaccine did not go through the same required rigorous testing. At which point, FDA need to come out and say their testing requirements are BS (ie. 3 months of test is good) or the vaccine manufacturers need to say vaccine is only <insert percentage lower than 99 here> safe for humans due to lack of testing.4 points

First it’s basic triage, when medical care must be rationed it goes to those most likely to survive. Peer reviewed studies in medical journals( that’s the backbone of medical knowledge all medical professionals use to make treatment decisions) all statistically verify that vaccinated individuals survive at higher rates when battling COVID than unvaccinated, it’s not even close. You can’t argue or change those facts unless you don’t believe in medical science at all at which point why are you seeking medical care. For me it’s simple, a child deserves an icu bed more than a person who is eligible for a vaccine and has chosen not to for whatever reason, I challenge anyone to refute or disagree with this statement! Like it or not this is where we are headed, medical care and doctors, nurses time is finite so these decisions will start being made and guess what they are going to be made by medical scientists. If I had my way it would not be so much so and Congress would have approved more funding for hospital residencies since 1990 so we would have more doctors, alas that’s not the country we live in. And unless you can buy your own hospital your stuck. Write your congressperson today and make a difference we need more doctors and funding for residencies. We already have studies that have shown many people have suffered and paid with their lives when medical procedures had to be delayed or canceled last year. Now it is preventable again medical science says this not me, and almost all hospitalized COVID are unvaccinated. If you don’t believe in medical science why ask it to bail you out. You can’t pick and choose what science you choose to believe, that’s not how the scientific method works. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk4 points

I have no dog in the Brickfolio fight (I never used it and don't care if it ever returns), but doesn't it seem like the next step should be you asking people if they would like this new idea that you have or to have their Brickfolio data restored? So far, there is PLENTY of evidence that people want their Brickfolio data, but zero evidence that this new secret idea is going to be of any value to anyone. Not working on something that people are clamoring for to instead work on something that nobody is asking for seems a bit backwards, no? Listen to your customer. No, they haven't paid anything, but they're still your customers. I mean, at this point, can't you just provide everyone a CSV of their data and not keep the hope alive that the Brickfolio will ever be coming back? I get it, it's a free site, and a free service that was offered. But, at the same time, they just want to access their data that you already have. According to your past posts on the topic, you've stated repeatedly that all of the data is safe. So, just make it available to everyone and move on from this project that you clearly have no interest in completing.4 points

The anti mask debate is more nuanced than pro maskers make it out to be. There are many factors to consider. One major issue I have with masks is their effect on O2 levels. Using my Apple Watch I can monitor my O2 stats. When masked my numbers go down. Is this not a health risk? Especially for kids with developing brains? I’m at altitude so it’s probably even worse for us. My children’s schools have the them masked 8 hours a day in 90 degree heat. I cannot imagine the amount of bacteria growing and waiting to be inhaled.3 points

Sounds like someone skipped right over the Lego clearance aisle and headed straight for the tin foil section. Sadly, it appears our dear friend Mathew hasn't yet realized that "they" monitor the interwebs and are likely in the process of positioning a satellite over his house right now to monitor his thoughts. Think the tin foil will save you? Wrong, that's what "they" want you to believe...it actually enhances the thought rays beaming out of your head as a result of the fluoride-spiked water "they" have forced on us all these years. Does that apply to only COIVD? Because I can’t imagine we really want to take that attitude with, say, alcoholism, opioid abuse or IV drug use. “Sorry John, I know you want to get clean, but since you didn’t believe there was any way for modern medicine to help you before today, you’re just going to have to figure it out on your own.” Going to stop you right there. Because that’s really the bottom line.2 points

when did telling the public: "Stop hoarding" EVER cause them to not hoard more? one can say everything the government says can be scene as misleading because any statement addressed to 300 million people will ALWAY have exceptions or potential contradiction. so ONCE AGAIN, if you are looking for it, you will find it. in hindsight: Fauci should have said: we are uncertain about much of how CV is transmitted but the evidence currently suggest that for most of the public, N95 and surgical masks are unnecessary; additionally, these masks are in short supply and healthcare workers (who have much more exposure than most of the public) are in dire need of them. most of the asian countries have been wearing masks for what you described going back quite a few years why not here? can No ONE understand that a pandemic is DYNAMIC? saying that officials changed their minds as the basis for how uncertain they are is daff. there is a time and place for everything...but conditions change It's actually much more dangerous to pick a plan and stick to it despite evolving data to the contrary...is THIS what everyone wants...a simple message that never changes despite information to the contrary?2 points
-
this kind of thinking is wrong for a pandemic; which replies on communities and governments working together. Let's say CV is as dangerous as EBOLA; would ANYONE disagree about wearing masks or getting vaccinated? Ofcourse not. But it's like EBOLA to the sensitive populations in our communities...if the communities and governments can come together for Ebola then it should also come together for Covid. Unless the rule of law should be Survival of the fittest. simple example: a clerk is immuno-compromised is now burdened to BE THE ONE to require a customer to to mask up (and we've all seen what can happen next). or should it be the manager's job? or the store owner? or the City Health folks or the County Health folks or the State health folks or the federal health folks2 points

Unfortunately this just doesn’t work in a collective society where one persons actions affect many. It’s obviously why we have all the laws and regulations we do. Everything from building codes to speed limits are due to the fact that one persons actions can severely affect or endanger others, it’s quite simple. The issue is that we are getting to a place that decisions will have to be made about who gets medical care and that is a terrible spot to put people in. What happens when a whole family get into a car accident and children mothers, fathers all need ICU care but all the ICU beds are filled with people who didn’t want to get vaccinated by personal choice, I don’t think I could live with myself if I caused this. This is projected to be a reality by mid September in many places. I sincerely hope it does not! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Throughout history people have been trying to convince others change. Just ask married people. People rarely change and if they do, the cause is usually due to a personal event & not online posted content.2 points

I just want to point out that change is usually how science works, otherwise we'd still hold on to the belief that the sun revolves around the earth.2 points

If you have to ask your to close to the line. Trust me you don’t want to get benched, without everyone in the game none of today would have been possible. Then redcell would have had to work all afternoon, jaisonline wouldn’t have stopped in, Jeff Mack wouldn’t see all this traffic and be incentivized to get all those great new features rolled out, and I wouldn’t have laughed so hard at redcell’s posts thus spewing pop all over my keyboard finally justifying the purchase of a new one with superhero keys. Visited some museums and battlefields in Normandy on a road trip with my son. I was based in Bayeux one of the first towns liberated by the Allies. Here are the places I visited in 1.5 days. Sainte-Mère-Église, Airborne Museum, Memorials dedicated to East Company near Brecourt Manor, D-day experience museum, Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach Memorial. On day 2, American Normandy Cemetery, Overlord Museum, Pegasus Bridge and Memorial, Merville Battery. The museums I visited were all excellent and I wasn't disappointed. I only wish I had more time to spare.1 point

Exactly. That is why I’m not on my here on a soapbox wasting my time. 3 family members of various ages have already died of COVID (1 of them was 61 years old, healthy & very close to me). We talked after he tested positive. He didn’t believe in the seriousness of COVID & vaccines until it was too late. I learned in college that most folks won’t change their beliefs. The more you try, the more they won’t just to spite people1 point

At the end of the day, this legislation wouldn't really harm small business sellers much at all. It would simply lead to Amazon spinning the operation of its sales platform off from its retail business so the two were operated separately. In essence, Amazon, Inc. would become the largest third-party seller on the platform operated by Amazon Platform Services, LLC (or whatever name they came up with). They would all fall under the same corporate umbrella, but we be operated and managed separately. It would be a complete nightmare from the perspective of those responsible for running Amazon, but wouldn't impact third-party sellers all that much...except maybe Amazon would start to see how useless seller support is.1 point

it is legit : From CNBC, a little lengthy : Members of Amazon’s public policy team recently contacted a small number of third-party sellers with successful businesses on its marketplace about setting up meetings to discuss the legislation, according to an email viewed by CNBC. “We’re reaching out to a small group of our sellers to make them aware of a package of legislative proposals, currently in Congress, that is aimed at regulating Amazon and other large technology companies,” the email states. “It is early in the process and the bills are subject to change, but we are concerned that they could potentially have significant negative effects on small and medium-sized businesses like yours that sell in our store.” The email asks the seller to arrange a phone meeting with a member of Amazon’s policy team for more information. It’s unclear what the policy team says to sellers on the call. The email refers to a legislative package approved in June by the House Judiciary Committee aimed at overhauling U.S. antitrust laws and attempts to reel in the power of Big Tech. Amazon confirmed to CNBC it has reached out to select sellers about the antitrust legislation. The company said it has received several inquiries from sellers over the past few months asking how the bills will affect them. Amazon did not respond to questions about what types of concerns sellers had raised about the bills. The six bills that went to markup would make it harder and more expensive for tech companies like Amazon, Apple, Facebook and Google to complete mergers, prevent them from discriminating against other businesses on their own services, mandate data portability between services, make it easier for state attorneys general to choose where to bring antitrust cases and allow federal regulators to sue to break up companies that operate a dominant platform and own or operate a business that presents a clear conflict of interest. One of the most aggressive bills, the Ending Platform Monopolies Act, is sponsored by Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., whose district includes Amazon’s Seattle headquarters. It could directly affect Amazon, which runs a marketplace that serves millions of third-party sellers but also competes against these merchants with its private-label brands. The bill also prevents platforms from offering a product or service that users must purchase or use in exchange for access to the platform. That provision could spell trouble for Amazon’s popular Fulfillment by Amazon service, where sellers pay the retailer a fee in exchange for warehouse storage and packing and shipping of their orders. Sellers told the House Judiciary antitrust subcommittee’s Democratic leadership that using FBA gives them better placement in search results, among other benefits. In a statement after the bills were introduced, Amazon VP of public policy Brian Huseman warned that the legislation would have “significant negative effects” on sellers and consumers. He added that sellers will face steeper challenges promoting their products, which could reduce selection and drive up prices for consumers. Third-party sales remain one of Amazon’s biggest growth engines. Third-party seller services, which include commissions, fulfillment and shipping fees, increased 38% year over year in the latest quarter. That outpaced growth in Amazon’s own online stores, which rose 16% year over year. Amazon is fighting antitrust pressure from multiple fronts. In May, D.C. Attorney General Karl Racine filed a lawsuit accusing Amazon of abusing its market dominance through pricing contracts with third-party sellers. Amazon reportedly faces an antitrust probe by attorneys general in New York and California, as well as an FTC investigation into its business practices in retail and cloud computing. The Department of Justice has also opened a broad antitrust review of Big Tech. not worthy enough .. sorry1 point

If a person does not trust medical science by all means they can go it alone, no one is forcing anyone to seek out medical care, but then don’t expect medical science to save their butt when they finally realize they might want help. I know some of these professionals personally sone were in my math and physics classes I taught at university and some I have known since high school, some are family members and candidly they are burnt out and honestly understandably tired of helping people who don’t believe in and actively fight against the science they devote their lives to and then these same people show up begging to be saved by said untrustworthy evil science. They would never say this it’s against their creed but think about it it’s only logical to be hurt by this reality. Imagine if someone was telling you how terrible and bogus your life’s work was and then that same person asked you to help them by doing your exact job to help them. Tons of them. Was not a fan at first, but it grew on me. Got hooked on the spicy chicken biscuit with egg for a while but had to ween myself off that. It's mostly for my boys now for quick grabs in between games and practices. Good shakes and love the company. Well run, efficient and always friendly. We had "one" White Castle out here in Southern California when I was a kid. I'm not sure it lasted a year.1 point

Question: What all have you been doing in your "free time" while at home? Our company just did a work from home mandate again until Labor Day. We had been going in 2-3 days a week since late June, but cases in Charlotte have been rising. I've been trying to just organize and sell some of my smaller collectables on ebay, not really an investor here, just like the deals on Lego. But I've also been having fun playing with some of my modular sets with the kids. One of the largest tasks we've conquered are refinishing our kitchen cabinets to a dark blue color, from a really streaky brown that was there since we moved in. I think it helps to make the lino floor less of an eyesore (and will hopefully buy time before the wife asks to replace that too) Not the best picture, Ill have to take some updated shots tonight.1 point
