  1. I started the Medieval Blacksmith a few weeks ago and then got caught up in Walmart clearance mania, finally finished it yesterday. Love the details in this.

  2. In case you'd like to purchase a 501st clone trooper army, Amazon has a great price on them. Great reviews too!! Note, these are non-licensed, LEGO knock-offs with a current Toys and Games ranking at 8000 and are number 16 in Building and Construction toys. But I can't list 31084 (Pirate Roller Coaster) for higher than $188.98 because it's against Amazon's fair pricing policy. Edit: Just took a deeper look and 7 of the top 50 selling Building and Construction sets are LEGO knockoffs. Grand. https://www.amazon.com/Star-501st-Captain-Clone-Trooper/dp/B08WZ49PP8

  3. Rebuilt this from scratch on a mils setup. My 2 year old was surprisingly very helpful, except for his idea of stacking the lightposts together (plus three lamps I made for the interior). One down and 15 modulars to go... Yay LEGO!

  4. I have no dog in the Brickfolio fight (I never used it and don't care if it ever returns), but doesn't it seem like the next step should be you asking people if they would like this new idea that you have or to have their Brickfolio data restored? So far, there is PLENTY of evidence that people want their Brickfolio data, but zero evidence that this new secret idea is going to be of any value to anyone. Not working on something that people are clamoring for to instead work on something that nobody is asking for seems a bit backwards, no? Listen to your customer. No, they haven't paid anything, but they're still your customers. I mean, at this point, can't you just provide everyone a CSV of their data and not keep the hope alive that the Brickfolio will ever be coming back? I get it, it's a free site, and a free service that was offered. But, at the same time, they just want to access their data that you already have. According to your past posts on the topic, you've stated repeatedly that all of the data is safe. So, just make it available to everyone and move on from this project that you clearly have no interest in completing.

  5. Great play set for a kid but for $100 should have 2 more Minifigures.

  6. Someone demanded a refund because I shipped their order to the wrong address. I shipped to the address on order details but apparently that was an "old address" and I never "contacted them about providing another address"... I am sorry I didn't preemptively ask you if the address you confirmed during checkout was in fact an old one. 🙃

  7. Question: What all have you been doing in your "free time" while at home? Our company just did a work from home mandate again until Labor Day. We had been going in 2-3 days a week since late June, but cases in Charlotte have been rising. I've been trying to just organize and sell some of my smaller collectables on ebay, not really an investor here, just like the deals on Lego. But I've also been having fun playing with some of my modular sets with the kids. One of the largest tasks we've conquered are refinishing our kitchen cabinets to a dark blue color, from a really streaky brown that was there since we moved in. I think it helps to make the lino floor less of an eyesore (and will hopefully buy time before the wife asks to replace that too) Not the best picture, Ill have to take some updated shots tonight.

  9. Fixed it. Although, I did discover the deliciousness of In-and-Out while in Vegas a few years back. I get it now. Charlotte is the perfect storm of Red and Blue.

  10. Nice to see someone else using the MILS system. All three modulars I have built are on that system.

  12. yeah, when I went to my local store yesterday they were max stocked. I couldn't really think of a recent set they didn't have...but in hindsight I think all the CNY sets were out (which was what I was supposed to get due to limits). Why would they break down the UCS Gunship so soon? weird how you think you have a plan going in...and then once in the store, seeing all the sets, you're like...what am I supposed to be buying?

  14. Your friend's son is way over the numbers needed to make a living as an "influencer". The number of followers are surprisingly low to get paid enough to make a living doing that based on an article I read about the topic. Article below. https://www.cnbc.com/2021/04/30/how-much-money-you-can-make-off-social-media-following-calculator.html

  15. A friend of my son moved to California (not sure he is still there), to help out his social influencer career. I really have no idea what large numbers are in this genre, but he has 2.7 million fans on TikTok, and 380k on Instagram. I don't know what the threshold is for actually making a living at this.

  16. Anecdotally; if one was to ask a junior high class what they plan to do when they grow up over half will say youtuber or influencer on social media

  17. I've watched these Youtubers for a while and if I wanted to be one, I would choose to be a video gamer. Much easier to gain subscribers. I just need to be marginally better than most gamers out there

  18. I'm not aware of any sellers out there who are churning volume and posting videos to Youtube because why would you post to Youtube if you're churning enough volume to make serious money when doing so would only create more competition and hurt your ability to churn volume?

  20. How is that any different than other professions? Most plumbers are not going to tell everyone their best tricks on fixing busted pipe. But if you take them out for a beer and ask about your problem, they most likely give you some good pointers
