The honest truth is that the brickfolio is not my top priority at the moment. I have been working on a completely different LEGO product that in my opinion will have much more value to all of you than the brickfolio. While I know everyone wants a service that will track their investment, looking up the value of a LEGO set is very easy today. I am still getting the listing feeds and have all the data, so I will still have the option to work on this when I am done with the new service. I sat many times at my desk to look at what Brickpicker 2.0 will be and what new value can I bring to you. The sad part is that I don't feel it's enough to justify charging anyone and the affiliate revenue is pretty much worthless at this point. I don't want to flood the site with any more ads and would rather remove them. The LEGO reseller market is so much different today than it was 12 years ago when Brickpicker launched. I have come up with some pretty incredible data sets for this new venture, one that will help LEGO resellers quite a bit. I know this is not good news to all, but for me it is where I feel my limited time can produce the best product and bring something new to the LEGO community. I am taking a gamble with this. Some of you will not find value in it, others will understand it and know how to use it. We will find out soon if the gamble pays off.7 points

Just noticed this. I'm seeing Honey Gold on some of the sets on sale at Walmart. Some examples: Ideas Treehouse (169.99) - Getting 1699 honey gold (basically 10%) Technic Landrover (159.99) - 879 honey gold (about 5%) Technic Porsche 911 (119.99) - 839 honey gold (about 7-8%) Obviously not for everyone, but if you're planning on getting them and you use honey gold....3 points

95% complete and excellent condition. Those two things don't go together; it's like saying I'm selling you 95% of a table in excellent condition but the other 5% vanished but don't worry about it. Yay LEGO!2 points

technicals holding up very well. 75% peak looking pretty daunting but i know we can do it. very interesting how gold had its flash crash overnight. you wonder how much gold demand is getting diverted into the dominant crypto players. the standard shill now to rich folk is that they should put 1% of their assets into alternative crypto assets - lol. as this happens, tom lee's dreams will come true. gene simmons just admitted on cnbc to mellisa lee he is a btc eth hodler . lol.2 points

NOPE! I own a small business, and involved with several small business associations. We would all prefer cash. The fees that WE PAY so you can have the privilege to use your credit / debit card are F---in' Insane. This year alone I will pay between $35-40k. I could employ 1 more person, or give everyone bonuses AND raises with that kind of money...2 points

Another example. I lived in CO when the marijuana law was passed. (BTW, CO completely screwed that up, just my opinion). A major snow storm came through the following winter (20+"). A friend of mine, who was a furniture store manager, was not allowed to close early and he and his team became stuck there during the storm. Realizing they weren't going to be able to make it home safely, he went to get food for he and the team that was stuck in the store. He found one place that was in the process of closing but graciously got him some food to take with him. Every road, parking lot, etc. was vacant... except the one marijuana store he drove past. That parking lot was packed full. I guess you can claim the drivers of those dozen cars in that parking lot were all stupid beforehand, but I don't think that helps your argument. BTW, I have supported legalizing marijuana for decades. Primary reason is to get the cartels and gangs out of the drug business and to help make drugs safer. However, all taxes received should be used for educational purposes and to help those who are addicted. Sadly, that will never happen. Much like prohibition, making things illegal does not stop the trade, but we need to help people live with it without it killing them. So, if you got em, smoke em, just do so safely.1 point

I do appreciate the anecdotal example. However, something tells me he was "brain damaged" from the start. Also, most of these studies being linked are biased. Show me a published, peer review, independent study. You cant, because our government has outlawed the substance and controlled the narrative for 40 years. Pubmed, give me a break. That is why I stated earlier, until the US government removes MJ from the scheduled list of drugs and legalizes it, I will not trust any study funded or conducted by any agencies, groups or nonprofits. All of which are only 'allowed' to report their findings in certain narrative. Maybe hard to follow, but an analogy is Pet food. I work in the Pet health industry and I can tell you we slowly kill our pets from food, yet spend ungodly amounts of money on treatments and dr visits. when in reality, a fresh, healthy diet would be the best course of treatment. Check out all the studies saying this is the #1 brand Pet food, this is grain free, yadda yadda yadda. Blue Buffalo is the biggest offender. Guess who sponsors all of the food studies and pays for Veterinarian's stamp of approval and 'Highly' recommend those brands? Nestle/Purina, Mars Petcare, Hills nutrition, Imams etc. are behind every single study. Dogs should be living a minimum of 15 years and Cats 20, yet here we are treating 5 year old labs for skin disorders and 8 year old cats with thyroid issues. Well no different with the the studies linked. The narrative is being controlled, the groups studied are limited. I hear people yelling "brain dead, loss of fertility, underdeveloped children, see a trend?!? Bottom line, we need more research. And I do appreciate the dialogue, truly. Think of this, eating bacon has been proven to cause cancer. Have you stopped eating bacon? Do we mandate/control Bacon? Of course not. A person could go eat bacon until they die and people would say 'He chose his life! Yet, someone eating a plant should be thrown in jail or fined? At the end of the day, I choose to "lose" a few of the 100+ Billion cells, after flexing the same brain all day. Who are any of you to say I cannot? I eat a balanced diet, exercise regularly and routinely keep my brain active. All important factors when considering the use of MJ. All examples talked about earlier are about abusing the substance, which could go for anything, like bacon, soda or alcohol. It wont matter how many pubmed or government sponsored 'clinical' studies you read, why do you feel you can tell anyone 'no'?1 point

https://www.drugabuse.gov/publications/research-reports/marijuana/what-are-marijuanas-long-term-effects-brain On a side note, I worked at a class-3 airport with a guy who bragged about how much marijuana he smoked in his younger years. He is the only pilot I know to crash a plane - not once, but twice. Frist time - he landed a 9-passenger twin engine with the gear up. Destroyed the aircraft but he and the co-pilot walked away. You can argue the co-pilot should have caught the error, but he didn't and was fired. The pilot quit after the crash landing. The second time - same guy (working for the same company 10 years later... *facepalm*) ran out of gas and again destroyed an aircraft, ripping one of the mains completely out of the wing and another prop strike. He claimed he didn't know that engine was a high-performance engine burning 10 gal/hr instead of the stock 8 gal/hr. Except, in order to be checked out to fly solo in any aircraft, you need to know everything about the aircraft especially how fast it burns gas. I worked the ground crew and even I knew how fast that aircraft burned gas. In the end, they blamed the mechanic and somehow this pilot kept his license. We jokingly called the guy "brain damaged". We would even sing it to the James Bond theme song for Goldfinger. "They call him Brain Damaged ..."1 point

Wife and I forced ourselves to watch suicide squad last night. As mentioned by others, it's stupid, gory, dumb and fun. It's just entertainment. No reason to read more into it. I enjoyed it. I thought it was the best dceu movie so far. I know, that isn't saying much...1 point

Wearing a mask is idiotic, wearing one whilst driving with no one in the car is plain braindead. I guess a zombie apocalypse isn't that far fetched afterall, we already got braindead zombies within 2 years without an actual zombie virus. Whoever achieved this state we're in right now: pure class. I mean it. You guys are the ultimate joksters. Keep up the work, it'll only get funnier as time goes on.1 point

Much of the risk is taken on by small business. Have one of your kids use your credit card to have dinner delivered to your house. Then call your credit card company and tell them you didn't authorize your kids to place the order. What happens? The credit card company credits your account and the restaurant gets the payment voided and slapped with a $25 penalty.1 point

It's kind of like not wanting to tell your kids that Santa doesn't exist. You know you need to, and you know you should, you just keep putting it off, hoping they hear it from another 3rd grader instead.1 point

The Shuttle is still under construction but with assistance from my wife we hung the ISS. The ISS is an already fiddly model so hanging it with fishing line and hooks (drilled into studs in the ceiling) was a bit of a challenge. Big props to my wife for making it happen. I love the illusion of it in low orbit in my home office. 🤓1 point

I took over my kids’ old train table and used the base of it for my train creation build. I combined the 60197 City Passenger Train with two Spider-Man: Web Warriors Ultimate Bridge Battle sets and thanks to the various clearance threads from this community I did not pay full price for any of it. The bridge supports are Black Support 2 x 2 x 10 Girder Triangular Vertical - Type 4 - 3 Posts, 3 Sections on 8 x 8 plates. The station stairs are Black Stairs 7 x 4 x 6 Straight Open pieces. I am pleased with the way it turned and I drew my inspiration from the train builds I saw on this site. Thanks fellow BrickPickers! It would have been helpful if I turned off the basement lights before taking this picture so the colors are darker/more vibrant. (Insert face palm emoji.)1 point

Guess I'm the only one who kind of likes it. I'm trying to envision it as if its on the wall and I'm across the room. In that scenario it might look like a really nice piece of art. Not necessarily a perfect world map.1 point
