  14. Couple Wally Worlds got in some new sets. "Boba Fett's Starship" :cough: - That box is a brick. Weighs a ton. The Troop carrier looked good on the shelf, though I feel $40 seems high. Moff's Cruiser looks sharp in person too. Though kind of weird, AT-AT, Falcon, Cruiser all on the shelf at the same time in the big stores, rare to see 3 fatty SW sets at the same time...

  17. This was kind of my point in my replies. There are plenty of new stories and new characters. But Hollywood is walled off to outsiders. Only their agenda gets pushed. My hope is that foreign countries keep expanding into the entertainment industry and bring us an alternative to Hollywood for entertainment. I'm frankly sick of them at this point. l Off the main topic, but does anyone find it comical that Hollywood constantly virtue signals the anti-gun narrative, but in their movies every problem is solved at the barrel of a gun? Food for thought...

  18. I see a parallel between Disney SW and MOTU / He-Man. The purpose of entertainment is for us to find an escape from reality. When something happens in the story which causes us to lose immersion in the story, then it is poor story telling. (Example: In one of the X-Wing novels, Lando Calarisian introduces Wedge Antilles to an exotic drink called... "Hot Chocolate." I kid you not! Another example: the all women of the MCU scene in Endgame - even in the movie theater my wife and I looked at each other instead of the movie because it was so blatantly obvious the MCU was getting their "women of the MCU" still shot.) A big part of story telling is meeting or exceeding certain expectations, especially with beloved characters. This is why Luke's appearance in the Mandalorian was such a hit. It was Vader at the end of Rogue One but turned up to an 8. (9 would have been against that many live opponents, 10 would have been against a Sith). If Disney had killed Luke in SW VII, the fan base would have lost it right off the bat. Even JJ has admitted in interviews there was no way to introduce Luke in SW VII without him taking over the focus of the movie. Instead, JJ gave everyone hope by introducing him at the very end of SW VII. JJ effectively punted Luke to Rian. Sadly Rian Johnson didn't simply kill Luke, that would have been merciful. Instead, he destroyed Luke's character (not to mention Luke milking that stupid see cow is now a meme that will live forever - thx Rian) and then he "killed" Luke. That is when a lot of fans kind of lost it. That is the parallel I see to MOTU and He-Man. Rather than letting He-Man dominate on screen or instead send He-Man on a quest off-screen, Kevin Smith opted to kill him. I have yet to hear a valid explanation of why He-Man "had to die" as opposed to "not be present" in order to accomplish the same storyline. Smith trashed the expectations of the fan base by sacrificing He-Man. How he cannot see the impact that had on the fanbase I think is the ultimate tell that he was never a fan of MOTU. I know he said he was but I have seen an interview he did many years ago in which he stated he had never been a fan of MOTU. Sadly, there are interviews with several primary leaders in Lucasfilm stating that they had never been fans of Star Wars either. *sigh* Here is a novel idea - why not create NEW stories with NEW characters. Manga seems to be doing a great job. That's all my kids read at this point. My daughter is even writing her own fan fiction and creating dozens of NEW characters for her stories. If a 15 yr old can do it, surely some grown ups making the big bucks can too.

  20. Is she still around? There are a bunch of Lego YouTubers that I would occasionally watch 8 or 9 years ago when I got into Lego collecting. Unfortunately I think diminishing ad revenue killed most of them off. I even kind of miss the Brickshow guys.

  22. This may not apply to ebay.ca, but I would not issue a refund for something that clearly was not your fault. If you have tracking # that confirms delivery, you could have brought this to eBay's attention. eBay should side with you in this case, at which point they should remove the negative feedback. Also, you could have reported the derogatory message to eBay as soon as you received it.

  23. I'm about to really blow your mind, often times if I am getting a large haul, I'll usually give one or 2 $5 sets to a couple kids in nearby checkout aisles on my way out of the store. Paying it forward, baby.

  24. Had my first fruitcake. -Buyer sends derogatory messages with pictures claiming I sent them the wrong item. Pictures include the mailer for the wrong items. The mailer has a totally different return address than what mine is (Different provinces). -I inform the buyer of this. -They apologize. (Sweet, crises averted) -They then send a message a few hours later claiming to have called the RCMP about cyber crime, blah, blah, blah. Included in this message is a google street view picture of the house from the above return address. They call it ugly. I'd be hurt if it was actually my house or cared what they thought. -They leave negative feedback talking about garbage and saying they got a refund. (They hadn't gotten a refund or even initiated a case for the order) -I request a feedback revision as this is clearly feedback for a different seller (which they also left negative feedback for). Revision denied. -At this point I'm like "Ok, whatever I'll just take the negative and move on" -26 days later. Buyer requests a refund for item not delivered.(But you claimed you already received it and were refunded, make up your mind already). In the comments section they say they contacted me multiple times about not having received the item (no you didn't, quit lying already) -Issued the $33 refund and reported the buyer. At least it wasn't $100's or $1,000's like some of you guys have lost.
