I took over my kids’ old train table and used the base of it for my train creation build. I combined the 60197 City Passenger Train with two Spider-Man: Web Warriors Ultimate Bridge Battle sets and thanks to the various clearance threads from this community I did not pay full price for any of it. The bridge supports are Black Support 2 x 2 x 10 Girder Triangular Vertical - Type 4 - 3 Posts, 3 Sections on 8 x 8 plates. The station stairs are Black Stairs 7 x 4 x 6 Straight Open pieces. I am pleased with the way it turned and I drew my inspiration from the train builds I saw on this site. Thanks fellow BrickPickers! It would have been helpful if I turned off the basement lights before taking this picture so the colors are darker/more vibrant. (Insert face palm emoji.)

Agreed, the Star Wars version would most likely have made it through. This system of crowd funding being used does appear to disadvantage some sets based on what is being offered together.

The limit 5 just seems like it is asking people to be upset. The castle was obviously going to sell out, even at a much lower limit. It seems like LEGO could easily have had limit 1 or 2 on day 1, then open up the limit on day 2 if things are really moving that slowly. Sure, maybe grandma wants to get 5 for each of her grandkids, but otherwise who besides resellers like us are buying more than 2 or 3? I guess that LEGO doesn't really care in the end who buys these, but is the program really worth it if you are depending on resellers to help you sell 5k of a unique, limited edition product? I got my 1 castle for personal build and am happy, but the entire set up just seems odd. Ultimately as a collector I want this to be a successful long term program so that we get access to interesting, unique sets, but it seems like it's just asking for a PR mess like with the VIP satellite.

Only 7 sets were released this round. With only two rounds left and 19 sets remaining(including the observatory), maybe we get 9 and 10 and they let the first 6 through rather than 5? Only time will tell. Out of the 19 sets remaining, 18 are in lingering in 'test building' and Space Troopers the only set still stuck in 'Digital Modeling'. I think its safe to say, there will be additional delays of other sets. For example the Train station, Exploratorium, Windmill and even the Ruin House look like challenging builds to maintain good structural integrity. I see a few more tweaks to the next couple rounds (maybe adding a 4th round?). Lets assume they do 8 like last time and Space Troops cannot advance in time. Next round could look something like this. -50s Diner -Train Station -Windmill -Science Adventures -Bowley Alley -Brickwest Studios -Ruin House -Working Waterfall or say the Observatory moves back in and working waterfall gets left off. This scenario has me leaning toward Wind Mill and Ruin House. Discloser, the only inhibitor from also buying Studios, diner, train station and observatory would be budget and space. Small time collector/investor.

I did not realise that as well, was still on the fence about the particle accelerator which I thought was quite cool. I'm glad I jumped in on the fishing boat before going off to run errands, it was gone when I came back. The next round will get even crazier as there are some very nice builds as well.

I gave a like but not because I like it, but because I appreciate the story. Our family still acts like the people around us are either unvaccinated or immuno compromised, and if we're in a crowded area of people we don't know, we'll still be wearing a mask for a while. It's not a huge issue, at least now that it's no longer feeling like 50 degrees outside. I wish you a fast recovery and that none of you become a "long hauler". Yay LEGO!

Yeah, I never realized before this but the fandom does not really overlap with the LEGO System fans. I also think the set was hurt most of all by the lack of unique molds and prints. It's also worth noting that Bionicle is popular primarily with Millenials and Gen Z, who don't quite have the same buying power for a $120 set. If this were released closer to the stimulus checks? Might've gone a lot faster. I have no doubt that it would've gotten funded within a week though and would have been one of the most profitable on the aftermarket. My heart is heavy but I'll use the profits from flipping my castle to personally hunt down every one of those green birds and make their extinction permanent.

The information dissemination, even on the mainstream L-R media is just poor currently. Vaccinations are not a light switch or a magic red pill and does not affect everyone the same. An Immunologist reported that a 80 year old that gets vaccinated has the immunity of a 50 year old...that's not 100% or even 90%...far from it...yet many vaccinated seniors act like they are "protected". So if you're 50 you get the immunity of a 20 year old. I think of immunity as a battle...the vaccine teaches our body how to fight it, but there are still a lot of factors in play...like if one takes steroids for something, their immune response is greatly suppressed. Obviously if one is really stressed they are also more vulnerable. The media using terms like "break-through" without actual reasons or context just adds more confusion and suspicion...People need to know the "why"...not just a new vocabulary. Without understanding there will always be suspicion and mistrust.

Actually, if you read the lore around Slave 1, the name makes sense. Slave 1 was one of six prototype prison ships (Slave 2, Slave 3, Slave 4, Slave 5, and Slave 6). When Jango Fett stole the ship from the prison, he blew up the hanger bay so no one could follow. Thus he destroyed the other prototypes (the other "Slave" ships). The name is what it is AND it is literally a one-of-a-kind ship in the universe. Of course Disney could retcon the origin of the ship but all the EU material is still there. There is of course another possibility. If Favreau and Filoni do actually become in charge of Lucasfilm, they could reinstate the Slave 1 name. That could cause this new set to become the collector item over and above the other Slave 1 sets.

So, Wife and I are both Vaxed as of April... Kids too young. Sent the 11 year old to a County sponsored day camp... Mask mandate stopped on day two of camp. My Kid, and most, wore masks the whole time. 3 cases of Covid in the 2nd week. Friday was the last day, Wife tested positive for Covid on Saturday, On Sunday, Daughter and Son and got tested, Daughter positive, Us Negative. Son felt great, I had a headache. Wife lost her Sense of Smell on Sunday, Daughter on Monday. All of us have been as sick as we have ever been since Sunday... high fevers, body aches, headaches, congestion, cough. I lost my smell last night. It seems that this **** isn't over. Edit: Also, I should say... My wife and I still wear masks when in public...because why not, it's easy, and there are people I love who are immuno-compromised and can't get the vaccine.

Finally got around to building the Nintendo and TV (I bought it on day one!). I never owned an NES, but the TV is just so awesome. Plus my daughter loves Mario (too bad both her parents hate playing Mario platformer games) Overall a very cool and rewarding build.

I hate to break it to y'all, but resellers are not the center of the Lego universe. Correlation does not equal causation, particularly in the aftermath of a market disruption as large as the one caused by COVID over the last 13-14 months. Just apply Occam's Razer...what is a more likely explanation for the extension of Tree House: (a) it is a wildly popular set and TLG fell so far short of fulfilling its outstanding orders from retailers during the pandemic that it decided to extend it to meet the market demand, or (b) a small group of Lego customers who buy for resale single-handedly bought so many copies of one of the most in-demand sets during the pandemic from Walmart, Amazon, and Target (because LEGO Shop at Home was sold out for months) that Walmart, Amazon, and Target placed restock orders with TLG that were so large that TLG decided to extend the life of the set, which it would have retired had resellers not been buying? At the end of the day, you realize that we all make money reselling Lego when the sets we choose are popular enough that the demand for them outstrips the available supply? If resellers were the driving force behind the extension of certain sets, where would the demand that drives prices increases come from?

Yesterday: a father's day gift. Yay LEGO!

I still have a couple of boxes of unwashed to be sorted boxes of vikings/castle sets from 2 years ago lying around. They take a ton of effort to sort and clean up, not to mention hunt for the missing pieces.
