I trust Chinese news as much as I trust our current news providers here.3 points

It’s mostly business as usual. Mask optional if fully vaccinated. Crowded but not summer crowds - clearly still at 50? 75? % capacity. Everyone has been friendly. Rides have been fun. I haven’t done some of these rides in ages, and some of them are “brand new” (Guardians and Soarin Over the World). The upgraded rides are superior IMO.2 points

It would be great to once and for all see all the members here who think our free and independent news media with many varied outlets is the same as the CCP mouthpiece, so please raise your hands. I stand by my statement which did not say anything about it being wrong to question news no matter who reports it but rather said that anyone who thinks the Chinese state run media is as devoted to fact based reporting as our press is dangerously ignorant. Moderator comment: Let's not spiral this into a multi-page discussion.2 points

I bought 12 Hoth medical chambers at Walmart clearance 2.5 years ago. Finally sold one today for a 400% profit after fees, etc. Hopefully the other 11 start to move. My eyes are now looking disappointingly at the 4 R’as al Ghul Batman sets I bought years earlier, not one of which has sold yet.2 points

Of all the submissions in this review quarter, that lighthouse was about the only one I could see passing under a slim margin. Although "the LEGO Group has never created one with such incredible details and at such a scale" as per the blog article states, I have lost count with all the lighthouses (and tree houses for the matter) LEGO has released over just the past ten or so years. If they are planning in keeping the large somewhat Architecture micro-scale style then they can cram many details into the final product. On the other hand a more minifigure design would be the perfect companion next to the Old Fishing Store.2 points

Making a statement that questions the lack of truthfulness in the news media of any country is not ignorant.2 points

Another surf day today. Ice hockey this afternoon, too. Low tide right now, and “May Gray/June Gloom” But I’m sitting on the beach, practicing my ukulele, my son is having fun, and I’m spending a little time thinking about those that have fallen that allow me to enjoy this.2 points

100% agree. I was also thinking it would compliment the Fishing Store quite well, but I would still want it to be a tall lighthouse. Maybe they will take inspiration from this:1 point

This was actually really well put. One thing I like to add, the media doesn't typically do a good job covering crypto. They typically only talk about it when it's going way up or going way down and their explanations for the rise or drop are almost always wrong. I could be wrong but I think traders and market makers drive the crypto prices short term. This means a buy and hold strategy can work well if you are disciplined and don't sell but leverage trading or trading with money you need soon is a recipe for disaster unless you can keep up with the bearish and bullish technical indicators. I just wish I would have known this a few months ago.1 point

The simple fact that we have varied and independent news sources spanning from fox to vox proves how ignorant a statement this is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

China has been happening for a while, and while the news cycle always has a negative impact (and it should have one), its never been to this extreme.1 point

You really think so? I don't think Titan was on that many folk's radar beyond Cuban shilling for it. It was difficult to buy and not on many exchanges (thank god!).Titan dropped because the team royally screwed up their tokenomnics and didn't foresee or understand how volatile crypto investors are. Too many of these projects are coded and brought into the world with little testing or thought for how the market place works. The team's algorithm reacted to the sell off by creating/releasing more tokens. Supply went from the millions to billions to trillions in less than a day. It's situations like these that will eventually lead the FCC to heavily regulate the industry and I honestly cannot think of a compelling argument against such a move.1 point

Speaking of Ponzi schemes, another podcast recommendation: https://www.cbc.ca/listen/cbc-podcasts/904-a-death-in-cryptoland A Death in Cryptoland, about the cofounder of QuadrigaCX exchange, and how it pretty much was a ponzi scheme.1 point

Or did they? Can you really trust anything they “report”? Clever way to drive prices down and create more buying opportunities for the whales. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

It might be a glitch but I've had the deal open for almost an hour and refreshed the page every 5 min or so to check. After one of the refreshes its said "Join Waitlist" (before its said you are on waitlist) so I guess i'm back at the end of the line. I never received a notification or anything. Again this was my experience.1 point

Signed my boy up for his first travel ice hockey team. Time and money commitment, but the level of effort and dedication this 9 year old has shown this week makes it worth it. Guess I better get selling more LEGO.1 point

I would think so as well. The weird thing is, the only 6-wide Speed Champions set supposedly retiring was the Mini Cooper set. Granted maybe it retired before Christmas, but the Speed Champions usually run an entire cycle for around 2 years, which all the 6-wide should be hitting this spring. The White Porsche 75895 was the last one of the 6-wide to be added to the run, so it may run longer, but who knows. I would expect 75895 and the rest of the 6-wide to go EOL by spring 2021 with a new wave of 8-wide coming out about that time. Just found this article re: Speed Champions in 2021: https://www.brickfanatics.com/lego-architecture-and-speed-champions-will-apparently-return-in-2021/ Back on topic- this Creator Porsche looks amazing. Instantly recognizable. I do wish the front wheel well would not be as flat, but hey, it's LEGO.1 point
