Hi Margo, and welcome. Do you have any never opened Lego Samsonite sets mostly sold via the Sears and JC Penny catalog in the USA from the early 70’s? I am always looking to add good specimens to my collection. If so please message me with pics. They look like this (that is me and my sister in the pic)7 points

Hello fellow Pickers, My name is Margo Lane. I am not a bricker, I am a widow... with a treasure trove! I have some really nice, really old lego sets from the 1970s and 80s that are I think rare in this condition. Like New in the Box with instructions. I would like to begin to post pictures however there are literally hundreds of sets to photograph and catalog which will take a deal of time. From what I can think of off the top of my head, there are entire galaxy space command sets upon sets upon sets, the moon landing, and moon buggies.- All early 70s - all in the box, all with instructions. And I believe most all are complete sets. They were kept by a librarian for 30-40 years. City Sets - An entire city - again sets upon sets upon sets, I remember the Exxon gas station stood out, and the Tug boat. My husband passed away, and I'm downsizing. I want to sell the sets. But I don't want to dump them - they are truly special . If you are looking for anything particular you think might be in this category please let me know. Thank you!2 points

funny how some brands fade away...I was bullied in Junior High for not wearing either Nike or British Knights...kinda traumatic since I clearly still remember it2 points

As you watch the one striker flop up and down like a middle finger 🖕 taunting you of how great this would have been if they could have somehow figured out how to make it a functional Typewriter.2 points

they can magnify the BEST and WORSE of us Yup, clowned for my "cheap shoes" every day by these two kids just before 5th period (which always ruined my lunch dreading it) Coming from an immigrant household where parents worked 13 hours/day 7 days a week...my shoe choices were limited to Payless Shoe Source (pre-dates Ross/Marshalls/TJ Maxx options we have today)...looking back I am glad I was raised well enough NOT to ask my parents for more expensive shoes...and to the parents of Tony Grassis and Richard Harden...F you for the crappy values you taught your kids)1 point

I can appreciate LEGO history but doesn't mean I have to like every set. Loved building as a kid (so i have a nostalgia association w/ late 80s sets), but as an AfoL; my aesthetic leans towards realistic looking models for display...and the blocky bricks ain't my thing.1 point

I can see many opened unfinished builds with this one and/or people complaining that it doesn’t work right.1 point

2021 Marvel Advent Calendars...looks to be a winner credit to: stonewars https://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=https://www.stonewars.de/&prev=search The Christmas Ugly sweater is officially an annual thing...which is great, IMO. This set has great figures and builds...loving it. Now will it be a surplus year or a scarcity year? also MOAR infinity stones!1 point

So to top off this suggestion, I have gone through the primary MOC Highlights topic plus some other areas and we now have a Throwback Tech category well as an Art MOCs one to boot. A few of the builds in the Throwback thread could be considered as commonplace items (a lighter for example) more than traditionally retro but ideally they seem to fit albeit loosely. Regarding what fits under the Art MOCs area going forward aside from the obvious such as mosaics or builds that truly are works of art, honestly I have no idea. I mean, art is subjective after all. Even so I believe I managed to cram plenty into there for a start. To add you may find a few additions to our various topics including Architecture MOCs, Neo Space, Cyberpunk, Minifigure Dioramas, Flora MOCs, and Mech MOCs. Oh right, another entry into Mad Max ....and then there's DOOM. Anyhow over the course of almost a week, I pretty much sifted through eight years of MOCs in just that main topic alone. It was sitting at over seventy two pages long (25 posts per page). Now it's fifty seven pages. If you'll excuse me, I am tired and need a little rest. And the next time you make a suggestion, Alpinemaps, I may just kick your ass. Haha.1 point
